A leak followed a leak which followed a leak, but now it's finally official: Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 this summer. Developed by the ever-popular Platinum Games, the mean green fighting machines are back with a vengeance judging by the game's very first trailer.
As you'd expect, it's full of the developer's trademark action, as we get to see Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo kick the absolute crap out of a whole host of baddies. Okay, so the video itself is a bit generic, but we're confident that this'll be another solid action title from the studio that most recently brought us Transformers: Devastation.
When it comes to details, all that we know right now is that the release will feature four-playing online co-op, which is bound to be a hit with fans - as long as you and three friends can actually decide which turtle you want to play as without coming to blows.
So, how do you think it looks? Impressed? Disappointed? Feel free to call dibs on your favourite ninja in the comments section below.

I want them to confirm local co op. Beyond that it looks ok.
looking good
i wasn't sure about the art style before but it's growing on me
Without a doubt, my second most anticipated game of 2016 (Uncharted 4 being my absolute most anticipated naturally).
I just hope it's getting a bigger budget than Transformers did. I love Platinum but I can't say I'm as fervent a fan of their recent B-team work
Activision, why must you be idiots and bar the wiiu owners some tmnt love? That said, I'd like Platinum try their hand on another 80's cartoon like thundercats or something if theis goes well.
Transformers Devastation is pretty damn good so I have hopes for this one. Platinum is my last hope for TMNT games.
Wow that looks really good in action! Even more stoked now. I'm a huge TMNT fan, so there's that. like
@Glacier928 said it's my 2nd most anticipated game this year (though my first is Zelda U )
@JaxonH a Platinum B-team Turtles game has got to be better than that abomination of a TMNT game that released last generation. Haha. Also, I thought you liked Devastation?
@Sir_JBizzle
I did, but I bored of it quickly. The fact I never finished it (or Korra) speaks volumes, because I always finish Platinum's games, and usually on an addictive binge at that.
@Sir_JBizzle "(though my first is Zelda U )"
Maybe that will be your most anticipated game in 2017 too.
Sorry, no faith in a game I've hardly seen in over a year. Though I suppose it's still more than we've seen of Pikmin 4 and Paper Mario U, and they may both be out this year. Ntineod must keep all of its employees sequestered in a room w/o outside contact for the duration of a games development.
PS3 LIVES!!! Man a PS3 version but no Wii U version? NX can't launch soon enough.
@rjejr haha funny you say that, because my first thought was to add "...if the release date doesn't slip, that is" I ultimately bit my tongue in hopes that we get an E3 announcement. Zelda U's delay can't be any worse than say the next Final Fantasy and KH3, right?
It's appalling, but I suppose understandable that the U didn't get a TMNT game what with the install base and all. Though at the same time, it gets Guitar Hero live? It seems like a Turtles co-op game would thrive on the Wii U, but I digress. Such is life. Either way I'm getting this bad boy, beit PS4 or XB1.
The art is ok. It doesn't look bad, but I feel the faces look weird. Especially Leo's.
The combat in Transformers and the 80's cartoon artwork was cool in the PS4 game but it was so shallow and the world uninspired.
Wonder if this will just be the same with a Turtle facade?
Is that the shark that was in TMNT Tournament Fighters on the SNES??
I really hope this game gets local co-op as this would be perfect for my game nights with the follows from work.
@Sir_JBizzle I feel like E3 will get a Zelda U date for Nov, and then in Sept they'll delay it to "spring" just like SFZ. If E3 they just say "holiday" and give us a date later then maybe it will happen.
I didn't really expect Wii U to get this, or any other multplat game not involving dancing, Legos or NFC toys, if it didn't get this practically made for Wii U package this past holiday.
@Tasuki It's also the shark that made an appearance on the Flash
@XFsWorld I'd have to say that the CGI animators did an amazing job of creating King Shark for the Flash TV series. It looked incredible for TV standards, imo.
This looks intriguing...
THAT looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Massive welcome to bringing the IDW comic to life so accurately. It looks stunning
F*** yes! I am hyped for this. It's just back to Shredder and the Foot Clan along with the likes of Bebop and Rocksteady.
The way this trailer is edited and the content that we can see just seems like they understand and care a lot about this. And I love the art style.
And as for which turtle to play as, it's gotta be Mikey all the way!
