Capcom wasn't lying when it said that there were going to be some harsh penalties for quitting out of unfinished matches in Street Fighter V, and a fine example of the developer's effort to rid the game of quitters comes thanks to the case of Japanese player World_Combo.

World_Combo was one of two combatants to first reach the Super Platinum rank, which requires a dizzying 10,000 league points to get to. However, evidence submitted to Capcom suggested that the World_Combo was actually ducking out of fights before losing, and the developer was forced to take action.

Going by leaderboard screenshots taken by Event Hubs, World_Combo was stripped of more than 9000 league points yesterday, and was consequently relegated back to Bronze rank. Now that's what we would call a knockout.

Would you show any mercy to players who quit out of matches if they're about to lose? Don't you dare disconnect in the comments section below.
