Re: Review: Arslan: The Warriors of Legend (PS4)

Lots of sixes lately on this site. I personally don't have the time to entertain any game that gets a 6, or a 7 for that matter. To many GOOD titles out there to keep busy with instead of using my limited time playing games that are considered NOT BAD. lol, not bad...

Re: PS4 Will Get Its World War II Shooter After All

RoosterCogburn

Woooooo, niceeeee. Another pew, pew, bang, bang shooter! I need another one of these about as much as I need excessive bowel movements. Guaranteed to be top notch as well, what with only needing 100k to create the WHOLE damn thing. Another example of a kickstarter trap IMO. Buyer beware.

@ShogunRok Lol, it must be, because that sounds absolutely ridiculous! Just jk, I am sure there is some slang type sayings we westerners use that make little to sense to you guys. Also though I do find it very strange the British obsession with Taylor Slit, I mean Swift. Unless that is just a Sammy thing.

Re: Soapbox: Final Fantasy XV Finally Looks Like a Real Game

Have to say my hype is SLOWLY starting to come back for this one, and maybe Square can lure me back into this heir clutches. (Once upon a time they were my favorite developer, now they are an afterthought) I still can't get myself to pre-order this heir his though, I will definitely need to see some review scores first, unless they drop more footage and demos that just absolutely blow me away. I hope entry think the general is even better now than what was shown in this video, as that came from an derived build. crosses fingers

Re: Soapbox: The Witness on PS4 Is a Special Kind of Brilliant

Downloaded and ready to start on this. Love a good mind breaker every once and a while. This is a game that all 3 of us (wife, son, and myself) will play and work on together. Three heads are better than one! Neither of them generally like the shoot em up kill kill type of games, but this one is something we can all enjoy together, and we are excited to try it today! Thx for the opinions and reviews, you guys are always my go to on new ps4 games.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 103

RoosterCogburn

@tenderbeefcake Yes, it seems we are the minority for sure, lol. In all honesty it is just boring. I mean the story lines are good and all, but the meat of it, the combat, is severely lacking IMO. The magic is hovering near useless Alot of times, and the melee combat is clunky at best. I just can't get into it.

I also think that to much emphasis is placed on Story these days. I do believe a good, original story is important, but I believe fun and addictive game play that keeps bringing me back is more important. IMHO Fallout is superior because of how it "feels" while I am playing it, and I could never seem to get that feeling from Witcher. All opinion of course.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 103

@sub12 I still personally believe that Witcher 3 won said critical acclaim because of the way CDPR represented themselves. The big deal made about the DLC, the discussions on non DRM, and their general openness to media when it came to game development etc. I think they garnered quite a bit of good will for themselves, mostly rightly so, and the gaming media in general just lapped it right up like thirsty dogs.
Was the game great? Sure it was. Was it a one of kind masterpiece and greatest game of this and last gen like many proclaim? Not even close. The loot system alone drove me crazy, among a multitude of other things. Look, it is an awesome game, but I wouldn't put it on any top ten greatest lists and I think in a few years many more will agree with my sentiment.

@Mega-Gazz It's not just you bud. I tried to love this game, and it was probably the first game of this gen I was really really waiting for. Alas, I just couldn't force myself to finish it. Something felt off about it and I still can't figure out what that is. Anyways, I found Fallout to be MUCH MORE enjoyable, and at least with Fallout I am given a reason to amass so much junk!

Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division

Oh ye of little faith. The psvr will do just fine. It was never intended to sell 50 million units, it's purpose is to further the appeal of the ps4, and add more gamers to the mix. Sony is good with hardware and the psvr is by far the most consumer friendly, I could see them selling 1 to 2 million units in the first year alone, and plenty more after that.

Re: Amy Hennig's Star Wars Is Still in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

RoosterCogburn

It won't be an rpg, or open world for that matter. They brought her in to make a Star Wars Uncharted game. Pure action with cheesy comedy sprinkled in, cut scenes galore and 3rd person cover shooting with some force powers and lightsaber duels thrown in for good measure. As long as EA has the rights to Star Wars I don't think we will get an rpg version, to similar to mass effect and they want something as mainstream as possible.

Re: Your Free February PlayStation Plus Games for PS4 Have Leaked

RoosterCogburn

Honestly, I like that we get indies and smaller titles on ps+. It is almost always games I would never buy but enticed to play because they are free. Also, there have been some real gems, rocket league for one. The big AAA games I want I almost always get the week they come out, because I have already researched them and read reviews and know if it is worth my money or not. I never even buy Indies anymore because I know plus has me covered on that front. Although, when hyper light drifter comes out I will probably buy that one, just to cool!

Re: Bethesda Promises Incoming Details on Fallout 4 Mods for PS4

RoosterCogburn

I honestly have experienced next to no bugs, and I have several hundred hours and multiple play through some logged into this game. It crashed on me twice, but both times when I reloaded it brought me right back to where I was when it crashed. I would love that cell shade graphics mod that the pc version has and would also like a vehicle mod, that would be cool.
