Re: PlayStation VR Launches in October for $399

RoosterCogburn

Exactly as I expected. Now, what exactly is bundled with it? Camera? Move controller? Better question, are the move controllers required to play the games or can I just use the ds4 and it's light bar? Really don't like the waggle controllers, much rather just use my ds4. Already have a PS camera but curious if it comes with it. Also heard that psvr is getting star wars battlefront vr exclusively, that's a BIG get.

Re: PlayStation Vue Begins Broadcasting Nationwide in USA

Depends on the customer I suppose. So many people I know are so damn burnt out on the cable companies, and the insane headaches they create for little to no reason. I cut the cord from Time Warner a while ago, and get my high speed Internet through a different company that let's you pay month to month, no contract, no hidden fees and at a really low price. Use Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Go (my friends and I all split the payments amongst us and use different logins) so I pay maybe 50 a month for all three of those services and internet. This looks appealing though and if the channels are right, I would cut Hulu and or HBO Go to.add this in. Main problem is we just don't watch much TV!

Re: Sony to Hold Recruitment Fair for Axed Lionhead Employees

RoosterCogburn

I have found it absolutely disgusting reading the comments about this closure and Sonys ensuing job fair on other gaming sites. Many are claiming that Sony has no interest in hiring anyone and has done all this as some twisted way of drumming up good PR amongst fans and devs. That type of thinking is appalling, and I wonder if these same folks who are chastising Sony for this job fair would feel the same way if they were laid off and then offered another opportunity from a compeititor? These people have families to support and Sony should be commended for trying to help some of them secure employment in the field they love. It's this type of fan boy behavior and thinking that ruins gaming.

Never fully understood the obsession with Crash. It was a fun ride but not having it doesn't bother me in the least. I honestly think it wouldn't really sell that we'll these days either, just like I don't expect RandC to be a commercial success. I hope I am proven wrong but I just don't see the market for these games anymore.

Re: Virtual Reality's Time Has Come, Says Sony

@sub12 I think he means quite literally have you tried it? As in, you can't begin to form an opinion on a piece of tech that has no comparison in the market, other than the other two headsets. Your opinion may come to pass, but everything we have read from tech journalists has told us that the experience psvr offers is almost indescribable in words, and really does trick your brain. Let yourself have fun mate, and give it a chance.

Re: Virtual Reality's Time Has Come, Says Sony

@sub12 That might be enough for you and I, problem is the average, casual gamer, demands the new and exciting. The peripherals, and add-ons and what not, and then they scold them when it isn't exactly as they wanted. Consumers are a fickle beast, they can never be satiated and always look for the next best.

@vegeta11 Everyone keeps suggesting Egyptian or Norse, and I understand why. They both have a wide range of deities with different personalities and agendas. I personally think Norse would be cooler than Egyptian, but why not go really crazy with it and make it about Sumerian mythology and the creation of man on earth as ape-slaves to mine gold for our God like overlords? Lol

Re: Podcast: Episode 2 - The Return

Didn't know exactly where to post this, this seemed like a good a place as any. For those looking for a Limited Edition No Man's Sky ps4, Best Buy just made them available this morning in the US. I had been looking ALL week and could find it nowhere, so wanted to give all you collectors out there a heads up!!

Re: February 2016 NPD: PS4 Extends Its Lead as US Sales Shrink

@Gamer83 GTA5 has had a ridiculously long life, just insane really. I mean the game was good, but far from great IMO. I think it has alot to do with new adopters of the ps4 and x1. Whenever someone buys one of these new gen consoles, GTA5 is almost a must buy at this point, continuing it's sales domination. I actually don't like it because I feel like it has made it so Rock Star doesn't real have to worry about finishing up any other games, as long as it keeps selling so well. I need Red Dead 3 in my life immediately!

Re: Meet the People That Make Sony Santa Monica Tick

While I do think the media generally likes to play up the idea of video games and violence in America, the tide has started to turn in the last couple years. More and more now you hear heartening reports about the usefellness of games in the classroom, how games like mine craft and city and farm simulators help kids learn etc etc. When I first started gaming as a wee 4 year old, it was a niche hobby, at best. I have watched it grow from something people look down on and ridicule to entering nearly everyone's lives in some way or another. As much as I hate what mobile gaming is doing to core gaming, it has definitely brought about an awareness and popularity to the hobby.

Re: Review: Hitman: Intro Pack (PS4)

RoosterCogburn

IMO episodic games should release like this: Before part one releases they should have ALL the episodes completed. Every month the next episode releases until the whole of the game is finished. Those that buy it one episode at a time should get some sort of discount, lime the last episode free, bc they are the ones continuing to support it, instead of giving the discount at the end to those that buy the whole package. (Although at that point the game could be considered old and they should get a discount to!) It just screams money grab IMO, as in, let me piece this sucka out and make it cost more than what it actually should and make gamers think they are getting more than they actually are by breaking it into chunks. Just a bad practice all around IMO.

Re: Review: Hitman: Intro Pack (PS4)

RoosterCogburn

@Dodoo Honestly that's why I don't generally buy season passes either. Take Dying Light for example, a while year for the expansion. By the time the dlc drops I am usually completely finished with that game and on to the next, the one exception being fallout 4, I am eagerly awaiting that DLC but even then it won't be as exciting as the original game was for me. I know most folks hate when story dlc etc comes out a month or two after a game releases (bc they think it was material cut from the main game), but I actually like that better bc it ups the chance I am still actually playing that game.

Re: Review: Hitman: Intro Pack (PS4)

RoosterCogburn

Maybe I am just old school, or maybe I just know exactly what kinds of games I like and am not bothered by buying a "full" game at full price, but I just can't get into these episodic games. It always works out where after I complete the first or second episode, I have moved on to something else by the time the rest of them release and never actually finish the dang thing. This has happened to me with EVERY Telltale game, and I am sure would happen with this as well. Just have to wait it out I guess...

Re: Waaah! Final Fantasy XV Aims to Make You Blub Over Your PS4

RoosterCogburn

@rjejr No prob bud, just missed it the first read through. I will say that I generally try not to hype any game up to much for myself, as almost always get let down in one way or another. After that NMS reveal last week though, the hype train is through the roof, probably to an unrealistic level, but man that game looks sooooooooo good, lol.
