@Sanquine Yep, and ANY comments you make that criticize his moderating style immediately get deleted. He takes this stuff WAY to seriously, as if it actually matters lol
@Tasuki Good to know, I'll make sure to keep your OCD busy everyday with an exorbitant amount of frivolous replies, probably of the single word variety. Message board cleaning seems to be your job around here, and I would hate to take away that important duty from you. Oh I just don't think any of us could bare it if the comments weren't neatly arranged to one person's liking. How would we ever be able to read them without your masterful arrangement of gaming site comments? Lol
@get2sammyb Yeah the visuals are just top notch, and I really respect the price point they went after. I know my son is going to LOVE this and I will probably sneak some play time in after he goes to bed;)
@Gamer83 Yeah it is a little off they don't heavily push many of their titles. It's almost like they went the anti-nintendo route and decided on that they didn't need a mascot. I remember seeing a shat ton of Destiny commercials though, lol. You know I think it is time for Sony to bring back a mascot or create one. They seemingly have the core console audience on lock and creating a cartoony, fun style mascot could steal some of that Nintendo childish thunder. Maybe Crash or Ratchet? Hmmmm
@TheMightyPunram So basically it's a lot like how unreal tourney was, except with more strategy? Loved that back in the day, M-M-M-M-M-Monster Kill!.....I digress, so what do they just nickel and dime you for skin changes and crap like that, sorry I am woefully uninformed when it comes to these types of games. I saw a session of LoL once and I have to admit it looked terrible, just not something I could get into.
@Splat Why wear it on the last mission? Does open some.secret dialogue?
Am definitely ready to check this out, got a level 60 character and survival mode has turned into a cake walk basically. Was hoping it would have reviewed higher, but oh well. Also interested to find it when the updated survival mode will grace the ps4.
@get2sammyb The silver shroud quest line is great, also liked the quest line that rewards you with the broadsider cannon, even though it does get a bit monotonous.
@TheMightyPunram Sorry for the confusion, I will try to word my responses clearer next time and try not to use words that carry such a negative connotation. I personally have never played a MoBA, not even sure what that means to be honest with you! I'm guessing some sort of unreal tournament type shooter thing?
I will say the main reason I choose this site over all others on most occasions is because of the somewhat niche taste of the writers and because there isn't a reliance on dude bro shooter articles. I appreciate the reviews and previews on games Ian not have ever heard of otherwise. Keep up the good work!
@Grawlog In fact, I prefer a gaming site that carries views and tastes different to my own, it encourages more thoughtful discussion in the comments section. You are correct in your assessment, this site definitely showers praise on certain genres compared to others. I think the word biased was perceived as having only a negative connotation, when that wasn't the case here at all. I guess we are going to have to stop replying on this thread, certain moderators don't approve of multiple replies in a row on the same thread, or some such nonsense I was reading yesterday, lol. I think I have reached my limit at 3
@TheMightyPunram I don't think it is unfair, you write for this site and can post whatever you feel like. For me personally it just seems that the majority of reviewers on this site have a bias towards certain genres. As I said, it doesn't bother me at all how anyone reviews or previews a game because I will make my own decision, just find it interesting that most of the authors on this site lean a certain way from what I have read. It isn't bad or good, it just is.
@mrobinson91 Negativity amongst the less than 1 percent of gamers who following gaming news and gaming sites, such as ourselves. Among the casuals I imagine this game will be quite popular. It has all the dude bro elements needed to sell a ton. Smart ass and ignorant humor, quick rounds consisting of exorbitant amounts of shooting, mindless and simple character building that resets between rounds and a tie to Borderlands.
@mrobinson91 Call it what you want but certain genres garner a ton of positive bias and others garner a ton of negative bias on this site. Doesn't matter to me either way because I don't rely on others to inform me on what I like and don't like, I can decide that for myself. Just find it amusing:) (and I am sure something like battle born will be wildly more popular than something like firewatch, all opinion of course)
@vagineer1 Well during the 1800s is a no brainer right? Any further back and it would have to be a colonial type setting on the east coast among the original 13 states.
I have a feeling they will pull a Bethesda with this. Announce during E3 and give a release date for the holiday season, we can only hope, lol.
Negative much? If it was a boring as paint drying walking simulator it would be praised as the second coming on this site. No bias here folks, move along!
Considering the problems with the launch, the promises they couldn't keep, the sheer amount of dev teams Sony already has in the EU, and the price of doing business there, I am surprised it took this long.
@Flaming_Kaiser Rumors are that it was basically shovelware. A CGI video that they could never actually make a game to. If tequila works wants to get back in good graces they need to get Rime out asap, but unfortunately I don't think it will ever release.
Journey is on my top ten all time gaming list. I got it the day it released on PS3. I had seen it advertised on the PSN by chance a month or so earlier and decided to make it a day one buy. I was not ready for the greatness that ensued afterward. I memorized the entire game, every nook and cranny and frequently returned to don my white robe and help others along the way. The visuals, the sound, the atmosphere, the controls and the feeling are all SUPERB. It is hands down the best Indy ever made in my approximation, and one of the best games overall period.
@Johnnycide Possibly because I am not to far into the game yet? All I have experienced so far is the occasional controller hiccup, but the load times have ever been snappy this far. Now I am expecting it to get worse and worse and I'll probably never turn it on again! The for ruining it guys! Jk
@RustyBullet Maybe because I am only at about the 8th or 9th area? Seems like people are saying it gets worse as you go along, but so far MI email has loaded pretty quickly honestly and the only issue I have during play is controller lag every so often.
@Rudy_Manchego You should my friend, I consider it one of the four or five most baffling cases in recorded human history. It gets that strange. Some say aliens, some say mountain yeti attack, some say secret government radiation weapon experiments, some say possible avalanche (this one seems more implausible than the others because of how the bodies were left), and the offal report cites hypothermic delusions. You have to find the documentary, it is pretty informative as well, I think it is called the Dyatlov Pass Incident, I think.
Not sure which I want to pre order yet. Am definitely getting it but I already have a camera and would rather an the games with the ds4 honestly. Decisions decisions.
@Quorthon Yeah I don't understand the hate for plus games. I mean they are next to nothing and you can't expect to have a game you like every month. If I get a handful a year that I like and play, I am good with it.
@dryrain Is Dead Star confirmed already for April, or is that speculation?
@LieutenantFatman Yep, those two will work!
@DominicanGlory bahaahaha good luck with that!
@jmbenetti Would be awesome to get Rogue Galaxy for ps4 on plus
@adf86 Would be really excited if we got Shovel Knight, and I thought He'll Drivers was excellent for plus a couple months back.
@Johnnycide Been playing BroForce off and on for over a week and I haven't encountered ANY of this, honestly. Very strange and a bummer, fun little game.
@AlexKidd Would be really awesome if we got Salt and Sanctuary. Was tempted to buy it at launch but I know eventually it will be on plus so I didn't bite. Be great if it popped up right after I made that decision!
@themcnoisy Already had Rayman Legends on plus, LONG while back. In fact I still play it with my son from time to time.
Please don't do post multiple posts in a row just add them all to one post -Tasuki-
@Rudy_Manchego I have that explanation as well. But that explanation poses more questions. Why did they find radiation poisoning and burns on several of the victims? Why would the Russian government be so quick to hush up an avalanche accident? Why we're all the coroner reports buried for years? Why we're some of the people missing facial features and limbs, but showed no sign of animal predation? Why take the time to cut yourself out of the tent when you could simply unzip it just as fast? What were the strange lights and sounds reported by the villagers at the base of the mountain? Why would the not go back to their tents and put clothes on once they realized the supposed avalanche didn't come their way and cover their camp? Many were found very close to the camp site, it's not like they couldn't simply walk back and at least cloth themselves. Also during the first investigation on the mountain not everyone was found. Then a week or two later when they were back searching they found a person shockingly close to the camp, right where they had been searching initially but never found them? None of it makes any sense and that is why many start talking conspiracy and cover up. The more outlandish claims talk of alien abduction and then dropping them back off only to die after their experimentation was done. Others claim the government was running secret radiation weapon testing, and that is why the lights, strange noises and radiation evidence was found. One victim was found splayed out in a tree, organs and guts strewn, but no animal bite or teeth marks to be found. The government won't confirm all these reports but MANY of the people working the investigation have come out and made these claims. Very strange and I'm afraid we will never get the real answer. As it stands now the Russian government considers the case closed and blames it on delusions brought about by extreme and prolonged Hypothermia. Unfortunately that doesn't explain any of the mutilated, burned, and naked bodies. Unless they want us to believe that one person among them became so delusional that he attacked his fellow hikers, committing unthinkable atrocities and then dying there himself shortly afterwards.
What would be nice is if I could get 10% credit for psplus games that I wanted to trade in. A few of those are the only digital games I will never touch again. It's actually not a bad idea to allow digital trade ins. That is one of the big sticking points for people who prefer physical copies like me. A game like a Call of DUTY that I only play for the campaign a few times I always trade back in. I got almost 30 bucks at CoD at the time I traded it in and only paid about 50 used. If Sony allowed this they could get even more to convert from physical to digital.
@Neolit So because they think it's the greatest looking console game ever they shouldn't be allowed to state it? They have opinions just like us, and I find it refreshing get when people show confidence in things they are passionate about. He of course said it was his opinion as well. It may come across as arrogant to some, but I see it as supremely confident and that tells me it's going to be great if the developer is that confident. Also, they tend to make the best looking console games, and that really isn't up for discussion. (As far as realistic graphics go, anyway. Best looking is a somewhat misleading term because for some cartoony or colorful animated style graphics could be their favorite.)
@Grawlog There is a documentary on the whole event that is on Netflix I believe. There was a man that was supposed to go on the trip with the other 9 but backed out the day before. He made it his life's mission to uncover the truth the Russian government kept has kept under wraps all these years. The information he has found is truly mindboggling, and he believes there was an experimental weapon or just an experiment conducted on these people by the government. All of this occurring during the height of the cold war and the secrecy surrounding the government at that ti.e only compounds the problems. Give it a watch if you have the time.
@Gamer83 If it compares in quality to Last of Us, that would be good enough for me but I understand those have placed very high expectations on this title. The debs themselves have placed high expectations, luckily it is Naughty Dog and in my experience they always deliver.
@Grawlog Having researched this incident in detail, I can attest to the true creepiness of everything that occurred on that mountain. All of it is made more mysterious by the Russian governments unwillingness to talk about their findings and blaming the whole thing on Hypothermia and the delusions that can supposedly come along with it. The campers cut their way out of their tents, in the middle of the night with next to no clothing. Something frightened them deeply and they went running barefoot and unclothed into very cold weather. Some were found missing body parts, some were found with strange radiation poisoning and burns. And some were never found. Needless to say this was a truly unexplainable event further deepened by reports from locals that lived below the mountain of seeing strange lights and hearing strange sounds in and around the time of the incident. Also, the locals called it the mountain of the dead before this incident and it certainly lived up to that name.
I have confidence in Naughty Dog when it comes to the visuals department. They blew me away with the Last Of Us. This game will run at 1080p and a rock solid 30fps. I hate to say it but digital foundry just released their analysis on Quantum Break for the X1. It is clocking in at, wait for it, 720p, and struggling to maintain 30fps. I'm not trying to start a fan boy war here but that really disappoints me. The original xbox, 15 years ago, had over 50 games that ran at 720p. Even worse, apparently the problems with the fps and resolution rear their ugly head the most right as you aim to shoot an enemy, causing controller lag.
@crazykcarter They let slip last E3 they were working on a GoW game. Unless they are creating two AAA games at the same time, which I doubt, this is 100% GoW.
@thatguyEZ What I think really happened at GDC is Sony was discussing future plans of the ps5. Kotaku caught wind and of course threw in their own assumptions and made it seem like something that could launch this year to generate clicks.
@thatguyEZ And this is exactly what I have been saying. MOST people like console gaming because they can get a high end gaming experience without all the hassle of pc gaming. They pay 400 or more with the expectation that the console will have a long life, not relegated to second best in a few years when a newer version of the SAME console releases and takes away games from the lesser, older, version. I would definitely buy it, but I know, as well as Sony, thay from a business standpoint it wouldn't be the success you would need to warrant such a move. This is all hearsay, especially considering the absolute terrible source.
@Boerewors Well we can agree to disagree. Let's Mark this thread in our memory, if a suppossed ps4.5 releases in the next year I will gladly eat my crow, but, when it does not I will serve it up to you nice and hot.
@WARDIE I honestly think something like this would be better at the very start of a console life cycle. Release 2 versions of your new console, one with 4k etc and one that is just hd etc. PROMISE all your customers that all games released will work fine on both, with no glitches and shorty releases for the weaker version. Trying to implement it half way through the consoles life seems silly honestly, and as I stated the casuals won't go for it at all. At least of you did the both together at the beginning the core gamers could get the nicer one and the casuals could get the cheaper one but everyone would still be on a level playing field. With the price of game production these days I don't see devs liking the idea of having to make a game with multiple versions to meet multiple hardware configurations beyond what they have to already do for the big three. Would only lessen their profit and be nothing really to gain from other from a business standpoint.
@Boerewors Except NONE OF the SNES games coming to the virtual library will run on the original 3DS only the new 3ds, and there will be more. I get your points and I would definitely buy into an advanced version of the ps4, I am just aging Devils advocate and saying what the majority of gamers will say. Casuals won't care to update or buy a new console every 3 years.
This actually looks REALLY cool, and I love the art style. It's amazing how many of my most anticipated games are Indy developed. Hyper Light Drofter, NMS, Furi, HellBlade, Below. So glad we get a mix of AAA and Indy games this gen to mix things up a little.
@Napples AGREED, I think people are really jumping the gun with this. Probably close to 90 percent of gamers don't even have a 4k tv, why spend all that money building and releasing hardware that won't even be widely viable for several more years? Yawn, this thread is getting ridiculous.
@FullbringIchigo Agree completely and Sony knows most console gamers feel this way. If they didn't feel this way then they would be primarily PC gamers!
@WARDIE This is EXACTLY how MOST console gamers feel, and exactly why this kotaku.com article is bunk. Sony was gauging interest with developers and throwing around ideas and Kotaku presents it as complete fact.
@WARDIE Problem here is most of your conservative base still will not own 4k tvs, so you are asking three quarters or more of your customers to pay more for a console they can't even fully utilize. I hope the ps5 makes the jump to 4k, just not sure it will yet.

Nada, hooking up a new washer and dryer and trying to defeat the mountain of clothes.
Re: PS4 Exclusive Uncharted 4 Is the Most Visually Stunning Game Ever Created
Re: God of War Maker Hiring for Massive PS4 Exclusive
@crazykcarter They let slip last E3 they were working on a GoW game. Unless they are creating two AAA games at the same time, which I doubt, this is 100% GoW.
Re: God of War Maker Hiring for Massive PS4 Exclusive
@crazykcarter It is widely loved the world around, just catches a lot of flak from the commenters on this site.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@thatguyEZ What I think really happened at GDC is Sony was discussing future plans of the ps5. Kotaku caught wind and of course threw in their own assumptions and made it seem like something that could launch this year to generate clicks.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@thatguyEZ And this is exactly what I have been saying. MOST people like console gaming because they can get a high end gaming experience without all the hassle of pc gaming. They pay 400 or more with the expectation that the console will have a long life, not relegated to second best in a few years when a newer version of the SAME console releases and takes away games from the lesser, older, version. I would definitely buy it, but I know, as well as Sony, thay from a business standpoint it wouldn't be the success you would need to warrant such a move. This is all hearsay, especially considering the absolute terrible source.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@Boerewors Well we can agree to disagree. Let's Mark this thread in our memory, if a suppossed ps4.5 releases in the next year I will gladly eat my crow, but, when it does not I will serve it up to you nice and hot.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@Boerewors Except NONE OF the SNES games coming to the virtual library will run on the original 3DS only the new 3ds, and there will be more. I get your points and I would definitely buy into an advanced version of the ps4, I am just aging Devils advocate and saying what the majority of gamers will say. Casuals won't care to update or buy a new console every 3 years.
Re: Interview: A Chat About Furi, One of PS4's Most Promising Action Games
This actually looks REALLY cool, and I love the art style. It's amazing how many of my most anticipated games are Indy developed. Hyper Light Drofter, NMS, Furi, HellBlade, Below. So glad we get a mix of AAA and Indy games this gen to mix things up a little.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@Napples AGREED, I think people are really jumping the gun with this. Probably close to 90 percent of gamers don't even have a 4k tv, why spend all that money building and releasing hardware that won't even be widely viable for several more years? Yawn, this thread is getting ridiculous.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@themcnoisy Yep, just last week read an article talking about how first party devs are just now starting to leverage the FULL POWER of the ps4.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@FullbringIchigo Agree completely and Sony knows most console gamers feel this way. If they didn't feel this way then they would be primarily PC gamers!
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@WARDIE This is EXACTLY how MOST console gamers feel, and exactly why this kotaku.com article is bunk. Sony was gauging interest with developers and throwing around ideas and Kotaku presents it as complete fact.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@WARDIE Problem here is most of your conservative base still will not own 4k tvs, so you are asking three quarters or more of your customers to pay more for a console they can't even fully utilize. I hope the ps5 makes the jump to 4k, just not sure it will yet.
Re: Rumour: Sony's Building a Supercharged PS4 Console
@rjejr Dude 4k tv is AWESOME, my Samsung upscales everything and the difference between it and my 1080p TV while gaming on the ps4 is very noticeable.
