I find it amazing that people getting games for the equivalent of about a dollar can be considered disappointed. Gamers really have become a self-absorbed, self-entitled, narcissistic group.
We have become a group of people adamant to not support the industry we claim to love. No wonder the industry is going more and more mobile.
That could hardly be a less realistic demand. Why the hell would they give out brand new games for no money? Do you go into your job everyday and offer to do it for free?
As I'm no longer some elitist douchebag that uses "indie" as a snarl word for "any game I don't like," I'm looking forward to these. Mostly, though, Galak-Z and Broforce. I will try all the rest. Already have Super Stardust on the Vita, so I might skip that one.
PS Plus is still a good value. So-called "gamers" need to get off their elitist high-horse and stop dismissing "indie" as if they aren't bloody video games. It's exactly this kind of attitude that makes gamers look like a bunch of whiny self-entitled crybabies. And frankly, if you don't like PS+, then unsubscribe and go shut the hell up. That's how capitalism works. It only exists as long as you keep paying for it.
When you use "indie" like a snarl word, you're wrong from the start. The term you're looking for is "video game." AAA does not automatically equal quality, creativity, or value as many of the very same entitled nerds will remind us every year they moan about Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed while still paying for the games.
Holy entitled crybabies, Batman! Everybody so angry!
I've only played Super Stardust HD, and haven't played any of the rest of these, so it's a worthwhile showing for me. It's bizarre to see so much indie hate on here--like you're begging for less variety and fewer options. I think it's pretty unrealistic to expect a bunch of free $60 games every month for the $5 whole dollars per month this service costs.
The Wii U took almost 3 years to match the sales of the ill-fated Dreamcast. By the time its successor launches this year, it will still probably be under 12 million.
PS4 sells 30 million in 2 years. Wii U sells 10 million in 3 years.
For as much of a Nintendo fan as I've long been, it's time for them to go 3rd party, and to do it now while they can do it in style, instead of when they're practically out of money like Sega and Atari were.
The only issue I have with the PS4 right now is that I wish the triggers were stronger on the controllers. Already had to replace a couple. But the harddrive replacement is really easy, which is nice. Gave mine the 2TB treatment this week. Wonderful seeing that 1.77TB of free space after it was all said and done.
I really don't care. I'm not picky, and I always find something to enjoy each month. All that matters now is that I finally gave my PS4 the 2TB harddrive treatment. I finally have room for these damn games!
And to define irony: Nintendo of Europe treats their fans better than Nintendo of America. Europe gets more games, gets them sooner, and gets more special editions. The recent Fatal Frame mess highlights this. Europe gets a physical release and collector's edition, North America gets a censored digital-only afterthought.
Concerning gender, males and females split gaming almost equally. It's literally around 55~45%, and women over 40 vastly outnumber teenage males these days.
Not only is it sexist to continue making women all the same supermodel (or uncomfortable Lolita) characters to appeal to male fantasies, it's grossly unrealistic in attempting to appeal to mass audiences.
The new character looks interesting, but the over-emphasis on tits is sadly not a surprise from Capcom. The hair and face look fantastic.
At this point, Chun-Li is supposed to be in her 40's or 50's. They could at least acknowledge that. They made Ryu look a little older. Might as well do the same with her.
Very hyperbolic to say it was the greatest E3 Press Conference of all time, but it was good. There was a subtle lack of confirmation on the how the temporary or early exclusivity of several titles, and the Vita was almost totally ignored. No price was revealed for Morpheus, which is probably smart. Better for Sony to get people on-board than distract them with potential cost. If it's less than Oculus Rift, but just as solid, then they'll be on solid ground. They need to convince people of the concept first.
I find the entire Shenmue thing very baffling. Neither Sony nor Sega wanted to back the third Shenmue game, but they were more than happy to let Yu Suzuki wander out to open the (already successful) Kickstarter? It feels a little odd.
Horizon looks amazing, but the character talking to herself the entire time was highly annoying. Uncharted 4, of course, looks amazing and Sony delivered quite a variety overall. E3 has been pretty solid this year overall, but I wouldn't say this is the best conference ever. Though it was really good.
Bugs me that Devastator is constantly made too big. Look at the ridiculous size of Mixmaster in Devastator's leg compared to Optimus. That's not right.
Customers are indeed not always right. Spend a little time working in retail and you'll find that customers, regardless of where you work, are mostly, incredibly wrong about most things.
A good way for a company to screw themselves is to listen to customers. Listening to customers was a major factor that helped Atari to botch both the Atari 5200 and Lynx when they first launched.
I expect Project Morpheus being partially sold on being able to replay a bunch of remastered PS1, PS2, and/or PS3 games utilizing the device. And that will probably garner a lot of attention. As in, instead of straight HD remasters for the PS4 like the PS3 had, I expect an eventual influx of Morpheus-updated remasters.
Why? It didn't sell well on there. Obviously it should be somewhere else.
I figured that if this game showed up again, it'd be a sequel on XBO and PS4, but Ubisoft may be just testing the waters with a port to see if a full sequel/revival is in the cards.
The previous Shadow Warrior was one of my first PS4 games, and I loved it's old-school style and mentality. The action and combat were fun, and the dialog was genuinely funny and enjoyable. I hope this one maintains the gameplay and humor and just improves everything like a good sequel ought to.
The vast majority of people who want that system, have it already. Nintendo has no more system sellers, and with no third party support, it's not going to convince fence-sitters. It's good to see Splatoon sell and garner some attention--especially after seeing how Nintendo fans totally ignored pretty much every other new exclusive to the system--ZombiU, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, etc. It's in it's final years already.
The Wii U and 3DS are following the pre-Wii/DS sales decline that Nintendo has been experiencing since the NES/Game Boy.
Ahh nice. Another game to co-op with my son, assuming the co-op is both online and offline. This looks cool, and will mix up the other two isometric titles we're playing, which are Helldivers and Dead Nation Apocalypse, which are both guns-n-grits, rather than spells and craziness.
Except that the Wii U doesn't actually bring any actually new experiences (maybe Splatoon, but you can't do 4 players on one console, so it becomes a moot point), as it's big mulitiplayer games are all stuff we've seen before--Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Mario Party, Wii Party, etc. Nintendo Land's appeal lasts only about an hour. Everything we get out of multiplayer on Wii U can also be done on Wii, GC, and N64.
Sony has spent an inordinate amount of time trying to sell their own memory card format, and largely failed at it. The Sony Memory Sticks never took off, and they tried this concept again for the Vita, and it shot the system in the foot. They should've gone with SD cards, and not just one, but slots for two at least.
The Vita is a great system with a few set-backs. But those set-backs were unfortunately rather large.
I don't think the 3DS will get past 65 million. It is selling well below the GBA and has been out for longer without a successor (the GBA saw the DS launch by about this time in it's life).
Nintendo has been on a downward trajectory since the NES and Game Boy/Color line, with each successive generation selling worse than the one before, except for the Wii and DS, which were fad-driven flukes. After those two systems, the next consoles continued on the same downward trajectory, selling below pre-Wii/DS levels.
The 3DS will likely top off at around 60 million. Nintendo is also not selling it to new consumers, but to repeat consumers, which is a big part of why the New 3DS didn't include a charger.
Nintendo does the exact same thing--they farmed out ports of DKCR 3D and Xenoblade 3D to Monster Games. The difference with a couple of the Zeldas is that they handled them in-house.
I really don't have a problem with this line-up, or really any of them thus far. I'm still getting these games for less than a dollar each. Some of you guys are coming off sounding like entitled brats and you're apparently never satisfied. What, do you expect it to be loaded with AAA games every month? That's just not realistic. I also haven't played any of these yet, so I'm all for giving them a shot.
Sony should drop the price, drop the price of the memory cards, and sell the Vita with at least an 8GB card included, and sales would drastically improve.
Finally able to watch the video (didn't want to work yesterday for some reason), and it looks good so far. Been hoping for a new Godzilla game to play with my kid, and I'm happy to see Godzilla 2014 make an appearance.
Looks interesting, to say the least. The art seemed a bit inconsistent, but that doesn't really mean anything at this point. I'm always for more female protagonists in gaming.
Graphically, it does have lighting that looks plausible running on the PS4, and it is high time for Sony to revive some franchises. I have still, somehow, never played one of these games, so I hope this shows up at E3.
Yeah, exactly. My girlfriend's home business is set to make a fortune in revenue this year--most of it to be spent on operating costs, so her profits are pretty marginal thus far.
Still, that's a lot of money. I would have three Mountain Dews. In a row.

It should also be noted that Sony may well just be returning to form. This isn't about people "Microsoft lost," so much as it's people Sony is reclaiming who they lost last generation. Both the PS1 and PS2 were 100-million selling consoles, with the PS2 climbing to an absurd/astounding 155 million. That is a huge number of people familiar with the Playstation brand, but Sony screwed up big time last generation and lost some of them.
This time, they're reclaiming them. The PS4 is another PS2, and it's library of exclusives will continue to grow unabated, as it was on the PS2. This is my first generation with Sony as my primary console. Previously it was N64, GameCube, X360, and now PS4, so it's fascinating to me to finally be on the "winning team," as it were, right from the start (didn't get the X360 until 2008, bought a Wii near launch). For the first time, I won't be looking at the Playstation system's unmatched growth and wishing I could play some of those games--I have the money for the consoles and the games, instead of just one console and a few titles.
