There's finally some moderately good news for PlayStation in Japan, as Sony's sleek little handheld has grooved to the top of the hardware charts thanks to the release of Vita exclusive, Persona 4 Dancing All Night. The portable console sold through 23,134 units last week, which is close to double the amount that it sold in the week prior.
Persona's musical escapade, meanwhile, entered in second place in the software charts, with 94,036 copies sold. As for the PlayStation 4, Final Fantasy XIV Online: Heavensward stormed the top five, while Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition endured an especially steep slip all the way down to 15th - it debuted in fourth the week prior. Additionally, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt still refuses to give up a spot in the top 20, as it clung to the last place on the list.

Those Fire Emblem sales are INSANE.
Nintendo are still dancing all night all over PlayStation. I don't understand the sudden hardware sales boost myself, is it what 10,000 Japanese have been waiting for to nudge a Vita purchase, just weird.
If you pool 3DS models it sold more then the Vita but the sales are still nice to see plus nice to see FE continue the great sales that Awakening set.
Some people were apparently severely depressed so I hope this helps them.
@BLPs well they basically gives up and just let 3rd party do as they like for vita
Good number for persona, I'll take them when they are translated
@Neolit
Nintendo did kill. They killed the Wii U.
I'm stunned The Witcher 3 is still in the charts.
@sinalefa
It doesn't matter who tops the charts, some will be pleased their favorite piece of plastic is in first. just like every week and it's not exclusive to one fanbase or one website. However, the real issue is those numbers are still embarrassingly bad across the board and there's no sign of things changing. It certainly won't for PS4 as long as PS3 keeps getting ports. Wii U at least will get a big boost from Devil's Third and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. Also, X1 showed positive growth for a second week in a row. For MS in Japan, it'll take the wins where it can get them.
Great news! Just curious, what was the sales like for both console and game when Persona 4 Golden was released.
Nice to see both the PS4's and PS3's Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward placing at 5th and 11th respectively as well.
Great numbers for the vita. The system stills has some life in it. Some great game coming up. So hopefully the number stay strong.
What's that Shinobi game?! That's what I wanna know!
