I will amost surely buy the game anyway, so the lack of demo is not too bad for me. But if they don't confirm an official VR mode for PSVR2 soon, I will find it truly disapointing, at worst some months following the official game release like RE4 remake. In that case, I won't touch the game before the VR mode release.
I won't play that game until the VR mode is release, for free, hopefully in time for launch day. If there is no sign of this on launch day, well, I may need to stay away from internet (spoilers fear).
Nice but as suggested by others, the real game changer would be a PSVR2 update for RE7. I refuse to think we won't see that, the base for the mode is already there for the game itself (PS4 PSVR mode) and others RE games PSVR2 modes (REVillage and RE4R) for gameplay and technical adaptation.
I do wonder if the Horizon saga curse would extend to a Zero Dawn PS5 remaster losing to a Zelda BOTW remaster launching with Switch 2! But just saying, I completed the first Horizon game and liked it but, after like 3 hours into the 2nd game, I think the PSVR2 launched which I waited for and I never looked back, for the Horizon series for now anyway.
Games definitely become more complex with years and take longer to develop, and more and more people play video games. There have more video games than ever beeing made. So there are also more sales than ever. That becomes more and more difficult for each game to be discovered. So aside of that, regular launch prices for launch games are a little all over the place, as most games are not finished and need patches to solve problems more important than ever. There is no easy solution for everyone I fear. Maybe some of these studio closures are a tough but necessary transition period based on general demand.
Keep it as a cheat, too funny lol! Or well, in PSVR2, it will be funny as long as it does not happen with your own car in that case it would be puke inducing lol.
@Mostik I bought Walkanout minigolf last year and I never regretted it. Apart for visuals leaning to the basic side, the gameplay is fun which is the most important here.
And just last evening I tried Before your eyes. Impressive stuff, more like an interactive experience than a game but a good one, with an innovative blinking mecanic as the only gameplay control. There are even some branching points in the story which I was not expecting.
I want to try Before your eyes just for the original concept. Then I will give another chance to the 1st Walking dead game. I tried the PSVR1 version 2 years ago but had too much tracking issues with the ancient PS Move wands and I just gave up. I have already bought Walkabout minigolf excellent game.
About the PSVR2 games, both that were showned definitly interest me. I would have hope that rumoured Astro Bot game would be VR (only or maybe hybrid) but if they want to push it as much as they can as the Playstation mascot, with the relatively low PSVR2 install base, I understand the decison and the game looks like a 2024 GOTY anyway.
@Vault_Mcfly Absolutly, among my best gaming expériences starting with RE7 on PSVR1. Talking of that one, it can't be that wishful thinking to get that glorious PSVR2 update with controls compatible with PS Sense controllers as Village and 4 remake.
While not complete the "PSVR2 trilogy" with a VR update for Resident Evil 7, which was already developped for VR. They can't forget abour that one, could they?
The nature of that game would not interest Sony that much at that point I suppose. The current wait for Sony's next VR project is certainly worring at the moment but I would we will know at next PS Showcase / State of play. I think their best decision would be a dual pack of a new Astro Bot PSVR2 game, bundled with a VR2 port of their previous game rescue mission, ala SpiderMan Miles Morales Ultimate edition, with the choice of buying them seperatly beeing even better. And personnaly, I would like VR2 ports of RE7 and Blood and truth, hopefully for 2024 for RE7.
Yes, sooner than I though when they last annonced "this winter". Glad that past the initial village sequence, I have put the game on hold in wait for this mode.
They have also release a PS5/optional PSVR2 version of the first game this week, with a reasonnable upgrade price for previous version owners, but the new version apparently requires 2m x 2m (roomscale).
@Hamst88 thank you I will try it next time, I remember having a problem with regular games that got locked 2 or 3 times. It was a different message, but refreshing licenses worked.
@Dobbos I got this message from another PSVR2 demo around 2 months ago. After a couple of tries, I uninstalled the demo of the game, which I can't remember the name.
I will surely try the option enabled, at least for a while. I have always finded it weird to fall from a tall skycrapper to the ground without consequence. Curious to see how it translates into gameplay.
@UnusedBabyWipes I also have the game that I appreciated on PSVR and I am wondering if there is an upgraded path with reduced price or if it is free. I am not sure I would bite again at full price even if the free locomation and upgraded graphics are tempting.
I hope the wait will be over this fall for the PSVR2 mode of RE4 remake, and that they could shadow drop a PSVR2 version of RE7 (a game already designed for VR) around the same time or early 2024, even if I personnaly have played a little too much of it on PSVR. Then, for RE franchise, I think RE9 could launch around spring 2025, but it could be a year later if they remake a Dino crisis game in the meantime, which I think would be a great move.
I did not personnaly enjoyed the only resistance game I tried, but pretty sure it was because of the platform (PSP which only had 1 stick), my tastes (not much into shooters) and anyway it was made by Bend studios and not Insomniac if I am right. But based on the number of requests in the comments, I hope it is related to Resistance.
I am very tempted in that game but I will wait a little. I got the first game on Switch and enjoyed it, including the DLC. I never tried the second game. I will wait to see if that new game becomes playable with PSVR2 in the future, and if so, it it is a free/paid VR mode patch or an entirely new game like the PS4/PSVR versions.
I got this game for PSVR1, and it was fun while it last, but there were a couple of bugs and I never went back to it after completing the story. No upgrade path mentionned to PSVR2 won't lead me to buy it again. Normally, tracking must be improved with PSVR2 conpared to the first helmet with games in general, but so far, I got more frequent problems with that (errors) with PSVR2. Maybe my room is not big enough or miss light.
I got neither of the two PSVR2 RE updates I was hoping for, a date for the RE4 VR mode and a reveal of an equivalent mode for RE7. Well, I have hopes for Pragmata and Dragon Dogma 2 looks cool.
A release date for VR mode of Resident Evil 4 remake plus DLC infos including the missing mercenaries map, and, while you are at it, add the possibility to play this mode in VR.
Also, a reveal of a VR mode on PSVR2 for RE7 which will have its PS5 version since one year at that point, and that was already build up for VR for ages.
As a bonus, it would be nice to get Pragmata news and a Dino Crisis remake reveal
Confirm us that the upcoming VR mode of Resident Evil 4 remake is really the full game, and shadow drop a demo of it the day of the PS Showcase, BOOM! And while you are at it, confirm us a PSVR2 patch for the already released PS5 version of Resident evil 7. Come on Capcom! And yes, I would hope Astro Bot Rescue Mission 2, released the same day this fall than a remastered PSVR2 version of the first game and with a Ultimate edition as an option including both games. And this time, let us the option to just buy the first game in remastered format from the start.
I guess Guerilla (Horizon) suggested them a date seeing it is exactly the same day as Zelda: Tears of the kingdom. Joking aside, it is not as bad as an proper hardware/game launch date and not in direct competition per say anyway. I am happy for those who want one now that they will be able to get one from retailers.
@misak192 Gran Turismo 7 seems to be the only one. After having seen it top numerous psvr2 ranks and reviews of this game VR mode, I finally bought it this morning. Beeing subject to transport sickness tough, I suspect I will need the help of some confort options.
Astro bot and Blood and truth sequels, ports or collections of both would be needed, the sooner the better. Not convinced a Spider-Man VR complete game would be a success apart for motion sickness but maybe it's feasible. If they can reveal and release games (exclusive, hybrid games or recent VR ports) at a mostly steady rate, it would be the best. And give me the VR mode for the recent RE4 remake and RE7 ps5 version, I know that latter has never been confirmed but they can't forget about that, could they?
So we won't have to wait too long for the mode. Excellent news, as this arcade mode in original versions was definitly fun and addictive. But from my part, apart of the end of the village siege of the demo section, I will try my best to wait to get news of the VR mode, what it is exactly (please be it the full campaign) and when it launch before playing the main game, well if I can resist until that time.
It will be an epic battle for top position between Dead space and RE4 remakes in the next iteration! Also, VR modes can mix things up quite a lot I would say.
@Gooseman42 For transport sickness, I am rarely the passenger, I am almost always the driver where I don't have any sickness. The only times I am the passenger, I just don't read, play or anything like that and it is fine. For VR games in general like I said, very few gave me those feelings, mainly racing ones and I have much other games from other categories too keep me occupied that don't give me any sickness feeling. But with GT7, I am very tempted to try it so yeah, like you said, I will enable most confort settings, and maybe take a ginger pill before, I assume it should be fine for short sessions. Usually, I don't have problems with long sessions, case in point yesterday where I played almost 3 hours straight of Resident Evil Village, the only understable problem was some leg pain around the end lol. By the way thank you for your comment!
@Gooseman42 You give me hope I could try it out GT7 in VR2 someday, probably after buying a used physical copy of the game just in case, sven if I know I could also appreciate it on TV. My only racing experiences in VR were Driveclub VR on PSVR1 not long after I got the unit (I had motion sickness) , and at some point, last time mid-february 2023, with Wipeout omega collection where passed an initial motion sickness it stayed manageable. I know I can't read, watch or do anything similar in a passenger seat in car without starting to feel something similar so maybe there is no miracle here. From the other side, I played many other VR games on PSVR 1 and 2, and only on few occurences I got this kind of motion sickness. When the option is provided in other kinds of games I prefer snap-turning.
@huyi I think I did have the problem you mentionned once or twice, and after I did the restore licences operation, everything worked fine like before. Maybe double-checking would be more cautious but I am almost sure it was the same problem. The operation took like 2 minutes for around 150-200 software licences (games).
I tryes the game after it was added on a psvr anniversary ps plus upgrade, if I remember. I enjoyed it for a while until I got serious teacking issues when climbing a ladder. At that time, I just never touched the game again and assumed it was an issue with the limitations of the old Move wands. But now that I have the PSVR2, I must say I am very please with the headset upgrade but from time to time, I can have temporary tracking issues from the new headset that can get annoying. I guess I could improve the lighting in the room in which I play those games but I don't have enough interest for that specific game to consider buying it , RE Village and Horizon call of the mountain beeing my main interest currently.
I will surely buy this game but I will try to resist as long as needed before knowing their exact plan for the future PSVR2 update. If it is an additional mode/experience or mercenaries, I could start the game on tv when it releases. If it is the complete campaign that is about to be integrated into a VR mode ala RE Village, I will wait for that instead, even if I don't think I will have many surprises after having passed the original/HD remaster a couple of times.
My headset should be delivered by february 27th, after having showned february 24th. Hope the former date is still possible personnaly. And who will have the "chance" to review it at Pushsquare, is that you @get2sammyb (among your 10 billion PSVR2 reviews)? Whoever it is, for confort and comparison sakes, don't forget to try standing and sitted modes, the standing one beeing my preference for RE7 on PSVR, it should be the same with that one. And on that confort topic, I wonder if Ethan and ennemies speed will stay the same as they are easely twice as fast in Village as anything in RE7. Some apprehension could build up at some key moments, without spoiling anything...
@Ralizah Yeah, on PSVR, it is kind of the complete experience, and it will do the trick for me now, but I mostly play the Switch version on my Switch OLED these days, perfect for short sessions.
I just bought Tetris Effect on Switch Oled last week and enjoying it, after having tried and passed it on PSVR with PS Plus premium. I wonder if the 10$ fee applied here or if they won't consider I "own" it.
Having only passed the Switch edition and barely tryed the PS4 one after having buyed it on sale some time ago, I am prepared to be amazed with this PS5 edition.
Intriguing. I suppose an attachment for this type of game could release around the same time, a bar on which Senses controllers would attach at each end. Maybe maybe not.
The Dark pictures Switchback and Resident Evil Village VR update are a given to me. A VR update for Resident Evil 7 and Gran Turismo 7 would make sense also and let's remember there is VR content to Resident Evil 4 remake launching one month after the headset launch. Others that I assume could be around the launch would be Beat saber and Tetris Effect and fingers crossed for Half-life Alyx but I think if that one releases on PSVR2, it would be later in 2023. They need to launch a new Astro Bot game before the end of 2023, maybe bundled with a port of Rescue Mission.
Calm down, it's just a way to play with your expectations (like dogs not crashing through windows in REmake(1), nothing seen through window with Leon campaign in RE2make... ). In this particular case, probably it is a warning to expect a thougher fight with El Gigante.
After beating GOW 2018 around new year eve (2022), I started a GOW marathon. I completed those games in order :
GOW Chains of Olympus (PSP, that I passed years ago)
GOW 1 (PS3)
GOW Ghost of sparta (PSP, that I played until half-point years ago)
GoW 2 (PS3)
GOW 3 (PS4 via PS5 backward compatibility, just 2 days ago)
I appreciated having done them in proper order (apart for 2018 first). I just stopped after 2 hours of GOW2 at the beginning of february to go back to it 6 months laters where I left.
@BartoxTharglod The cord will still be there, but it will be a single wire, presumably thiner as it would be a simple USB-C connector. The second problem, the fog, should be adressed, at least greatly improved, by the vent of the PSVR2.

@Ralizah Yeah, on PSVR, it is kind of the complete experience, and it will do the trick for me now, but I mostly play the Switch version on my Switch OLED these days, perfect for short sessions.
Re: PSVR Gems Rez Infinite, Tetris Effect Coming to PSVR2, Small Fee to Upgrade
I just bought Tetris Effect on Switch Oled last week and enjoying it, after having tried and passed it on PSVR with PS Plus premium. I wonder if the 10$ fee applied here or if they won't consider I "own" it.
Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (PS5) - The Perfect Excuse to Replay a Masterpiece
Having only passed the Switch edition and barely tryed the PS4 one after having buyed it on sale some time ago, I am prepared to be amazed with this PS5 edition.
Re: Jaw Dropping Kayak Sim Targeting PSVR2 Launch Day
Intriguing. I suppose an attachment for this type of game could release around the same time, a bar on which Senses controllers would attach at each end. Maybe maybe not.
Re: First Resident Evil Re:Verse Update Adds New Map, Character, and Skins
Nice! Now please confirm us the PSVR2 update for RE Village in time for the headset launch.
Re: 10 PSVR2 Launch Games Revealed So Far
The Dark pictures Switchback and Resident Evil Village VR update are a given to me. A VR update for Resident Evil 7 and Gran Turismo 7 would make sense also and let's remember there is VR content to Resident Evil 4 remake launching one month after the headset launch. Others that I assume could be around the launch would be Beat saber and Tetris Effect and fingers crossed for Half-life Alyx but I think if that one releases on PSVR2, it would be later in 2023. They need to launch a new Astro Bot game before the end of 2023, maybe bundled with a port of Rescue Mission.
Re: Dog Lovers Left Devastated as Resident Evil 4 Remake Rewrites History for the Worse
Calm down, it's just a way to play with your expectations (like dogs not crashing through windows in REmake(1), nothing seen through window with Leon campaign in RE2make... ). In this particular case, probably it is a warning to expect a thougher fight with El Gigante.
Re: God of War: Full Story Recap
Re: Sony Unveils PSVR2 User Experience, Including See-Through View, Customisable Play Area
@BartoxTharglod The cord will still be there, but it will be a single wire, presumably thiner as it would be a simple USB-C connector. The second problem, the fog, should be adressed, at least greatly improved, by the vent of the PSVR2.
