For anyone on the fence, I definitely recommend Isolation, especially if you're a fan of the original movie. Play it on hard for the best experience!
That said, it IS a very draining game, or at least it was for me. By the time the game was over, I was pretty tired of it, and I found the last half very anti-climatic.
Yeah I'm also glad to hear this. I was a little concerned that I'd have to download the other half of the game on launch day, which isn't ideal since the whole purpose of going physical (for me at least) is not having to download huge amounts of GB just to play.
I was actually considering going digital so I could just preload and get a jump on it, but if they really do launch with two discs, that'd be enough to get me to go physical.
This is nice and all but I really want to hear more about those horse testicles. Was that part of the 100 hour days? How much effort went into them? I really have to know.
It's amazing to think that back in the Atari days, you typically had one guy, ONE GUY, doing all the major work. Now we're at a point where it takes multiple studios and development teams. Gaming has come a long way. I had no idea the new AC was done by multiple teams though, I just assumed it was the Black Flag team again.
I would be really surprised if they went and brought in the actual models like Odyssey did for Mario's 64 model, but nah I was mostly referring to a modern rendition of her original vest and shorts. I can deal with her new face and hair but I really hate her new outfit, I'm hoping they bring in her original clothes as an unlockable.
Now I just want a costume that actually resembles Claire remotely. Here's hoping it's an unlockable within the game! The Elza Walker costume is a very nice touch.
@kyleforrester87 Kinda agree with you on that. One of the downsides of gaming these days are that if you aren't careful, you'll have seen too much of a game and kill a lot of the surprise. I myself only watch a few minutes of these videos to determine whether I like what I see, then turn them off. More so with this being a horror game where the element of surprise is often played on.
And just like that, there went most of my interest. Sorry, but I already own the PSP version, If I want to play that, I can. I was really hoping Konami would put in more effort than simply porting over the PSP versions, but I was a bit suspicious of this already. This doesn't impact Chi no Rondo too much, but it kinda ruins SOTN for me as I prefer the original voices in all their cheesiness. With this already being a loaded month as it is, I'll pass for now.
I wouldn't mind seeing a new CTR game, as I was a big fan of the PS1 game and alongside Sonic All Stars Racing: Transformed, is one of the few games I think matches up to Mario Kart.
I've heard about this guy, he sounds like a real piece of work. He only gave consent because he was sure the games would be terrible, then later on went to crying and screaming that the games didn't up to his work and were essentially bastardized versions of his books. In truth, he should be grateful because fans of the games have started buying the books, so it's a win/win for this guy. instead, he has done nothing but crap all over the game (and the fanbase) since it was created.
He owes his success to the video games, that should be reward enough for him.
Don't really think @AlexSora89 is trolling, he brings up a good point. It definitely looks like Sony is snatching up an exclusive, and honestly that's kinda what Sony's strategy has been as of late. Nothing really wrong with it either, it is what it is.
I think it's more the fact that Konami is looking to revive Castlevania in the same way Capcom may be looking to try and revive Mega Man. Simon and Richter being in Smash makes this the best possible time to start trying to milk the CV franchise and get some quick ports out to capitalize on the hype. I fully expect to see Castlevania games popping up on the Switch soon too, so I'd say both sides will get their equal Castlevania fix. For Nintendo, I expect we'll see CV 1-3 on the NES Online service.
Either way, it's a good time to be a CV fan. It looks like the franchise is starting to bubble back up to the surface and I couldn't be happier about it!
I felt the first gameplay trailer gave us more, while this one is just basically kinda repeating what we already know about the game. I didn't really learn anything from this trailer I didn't already know, but I sure want this game.
Honestly still haven't completely finished Origins... I really need to pick it back up and finish it up. There's entire sections of the map unexplored!
Red Dead Redemption 2, Fist of the North Star, and oddly enough, Yakuza Kiwami 2. Yeah I know that's not on the list, but that's literally what I'm going to be playing in October.
Some runner ups if I have the extra cash are Mega Man 11, CV Requiem, and Mark of the Ninja.
I never cared about this, and it's my understanding that all of this was more or less about Fortnite anyway, which I care even less about than this whole cross-play thing. The only thing I would remotely want any form of cross-play for is Monster Hunter World and even that is moot to me.
Yeah I platted this in a week as well, but I played some serious Spider-Man so I imagine most people needed a bit longer. I think it had the perfect amount of content, the devs showed some restraint by not loading it down with BS collectibles.
That said, I definitely want more. New game plus would give me an excuse to romp through the story again! I have a really powerful load-out by now so I'm ready!
Sadly probably won't be day one for me, as I will be SWAMPED with games, including RDR2. I'm definitely getting this at some point though, unless they botch the emulation. Two of my favorite CV games in one package is pretty sweet. I do wish they could have included the remade version from the PSP but hey, this is good too.
Only way this could get any better is if they announced CV3 with it, but I don't think I could actually handle that.
Pretty much agree with everyone else on this one; Transformed was such a fantastic game... why did they feel the need to change it? if they couldn't do any better than this, just port Transformed over to the Switch, PS4, and Xbone and add some new racers or something. I'd gladly buy a remastered version over this.
Yeah I agree, we live in an "outrage" society. I'm down for waiting to see how it develops. If it looks like it's going to be good, I'll pick it up, microtransactions be damned.
Of course if it turns out that said microtransactions ARE intrusive, it wouldn't be hard for me to take a pass. All this talk of canceling preorders and the like are kind of insane to me, too.
Honestly, I agree. I'm of the opinion that microtransactions are not inherently evil, it's how they're used. This article is automatically assuming they WILL be used in a rather negative way and isn't even entertaining the idea that they won't. Of course, this is also how you spark fan discussion and a rather smart way of going about it as well.
Using Shadow of War as an example, a lot of people boycotted the game purely for the fact it had microtransactions but I literally did everything in the game WITHOUT microtransactions. They're usually just there for the older gamers who have jobs, families, etc and may not be as skilled as younger folks who typically have better reflexes and more free time to spend.
There is another side to this though, which is the side we see a lot more lately. Just the fact they exist is often times a red flag. Given that microtransactions are often used in scummy ways, it's no surprise that there's a surge of negativity and I myself let out a small sigh upon seeing that they're in the game.
Other than that, I'm honestly not that interested in this game unless it comes anywhere near the level DMC3 was for me. That was my favorite DMC game and it's pretty much the only one I need unless 5 turns out to be as good or better.
Really sad to hear Metal Max Xeno didn't go well, as I'm a fan of the original Famicom and Super Famicom games. A bit surprised that SNK Heroines is decent, but once you take my favorite fighter (Leona) and stick her in a silly cat bikini, I lose all interest. I'm not a prude or anything, but it's the same reason I dislike the practice of "waifuing" certain Fire Emblem girls. Leona would never wear a silly cat bikini, and Lyn would never wear a wedding dress. Fanservice for the sake of fanservice and going against character is not my thing, which is a shame as I'm a big SNK fan.
For me personally, that just helped put the game back on my radar. I'm a sucker for survival or RPG mechanics added to games, hence why GTA SA is still my favorite GTA to this day. All of this just makes me want it more, and it fits the theme too. All of this sounds really revolutionary and a lot of it also sounds a bit like what early hype for GTA SA looked like, except I assume this time it's for real. I'm also curious about AI behavior too. It would be neat to see if the AI has to follow these "rules" or not.
With that said, I think it may be best to regulate all of this to a "hardcore" mode to avoid turning people off much like New Vegas did with Fallout.
I was initially concerned that R* were going to simply make a quick, microtransaction-riddled cash-grab with this game and then abandon Single Player to focus on Online, but this has helped assured me they are actually taking this game seriously.
Same, to be honest. I'm very cautious about this game due to how GTA V went. While I liked GTA V's story mode well enough, I found it really lacking in content and it was pretty obvious they were diverting resources to supporting the online platform. From day 1, this has been my biggest concern with RDR2.
Not to mention that the first RDR was such a legendary (if not buggy) game that I just fear they won't be able to capture the same magic. The fact they seem almost scared to show us anything about the game only confirms that.
Anyway in all seriousness, SotN and Rondo of Blood may very well be the greatest Castlevania games of all time. Rondo was pure classic Castlevania greatness while SoTN took the series in a bold new direction and became the defining example of Metroidvania that persists to this very day. If they released both games as a sort of package deal and got the emulation right, I would be all over these. There's not that many solid versions of SoTN. Include all the Saturn extras for an even better package. If Konami plays their cards right, they could really strike gold with this release.
Or they could do like they did with the Xbox 360 version and just poorly emulate it. With Konami acting the way they do today, I wouldn't put it past them to put up shoddy emulations of both games, charge a premium for them, and call it a day.
Here's hoping that doesn't happen. I'm personally hoping for a Castlevania Collection.
I really enjoyed Dead Rising 1 and 2, but once the series went into 3 and 4, I think the games got pretty forgettable. Sucks to hear these guys are gone.
Oof, a bit steep, but unlike the NES Mini, this is a Mini console I would actually not mind having. I love the PS1, it's one of my favorite consoles, and it looks like it has a stellar line-up.
Gonna have to echo some sentiments about "last good spider-man" being the 2nd game. That's... a bit off. Web of Shadows alone was an excellent game, and while Ultimate Spider-Man had some serious flaws, I'd say it was at least "good". Last but not least, Amazing Spider-Man on Xbox 360/PS3 may have some flaws as well, but I'd say it was at least in the "good" tier. I guess what I'm saying is, maybe the wording should be "amazing"? Spider-Man 2 was a huge, innovative game to be sure, but there were games after it that still qualified as good.
That aside, super hyped for this game. Been Spoodering it up all week with marathons of the Animated Series, watching various Spider-Man movies, and of course playing every Spider-Man or related game I happen to own, which is quite a few. Now I just need to survive the wait till the 7th, the review definitely makes it sound worth it!
I'm really happy to hear that the DLC will involve Black Cat, that just makes me want this game even more! With the Venom movie coming in October, I'm also curious if they'll add a Venom DLC, preferably the Eddie Brock version.
Another thing I think could be potentially interesting would be DLC that takes place prior to the main game, perhaps showcasing more of Spider-Man and Kingpin's fight.
Considering how bad the DLC has reportedly been, this is a welcome addition and one I felt the game kinda needed anyway. It'll be cool to replay the game again without losing progression.
Yakuza 2 IMO was pretty much always the best game up until maybe Zero. Glad the remake turned out solid! Sadly I too have financial issues preventing me from getting it day one, but I'm definitely getting it in the coming months.
Clearly didn't read a word of my post if that was all you got out of it. Gonna have to repeat what @Hapuc said. Why do you even care what I or any else thinks? If you're fine with it, then that should be good enough. You're not even attempting to make any arguments, points, or counter-arguments. All you're doing is trying to downplay our opinions by using dismissive words like "whine" and "dumb". If it's a dumb thing to "whine" about, then don't respond. Simple as that. Considering how outraged some people were about Capcom changing the name's of the Mavericks in the X Collection, I'd say there are worst things to be annoyed about.
Stop being such a shill, a lot of people don't like her new look. Deal with it. No one even said anything about wanting the "same stuff", you obviously didn't even comprehend anything I wrote. Did I use too many big words or something? My point is that the current version of Claire doesn't really look anything like her. If Leon looks like himself, why did they fail to do the same with Claire?
Actually I think Ultimate is a full-fledged sequel based on all the changes I've seen... but you might be right that it's an "edition". I guess we'll find out later! Either way, this is a really bad decision. Also agree about Injustice 2, that game ended up being one of my favorite fighting games and it has a fantastic roster on top of that.

Still very cautious about this game. RDR is a tough act to follow and I was less than impressed with GTA V.
Re: Fist of the North Star PS4 Launch Edition Will Have a Reversible Japanese Cover
Now I want this game more than ever and I'll be sure to grab a physical release for that cool cover.
Re: Gamescom 2018: Have Some New Details on Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2
@Undead22
Re: Gamescom 2018: Tira Joins SoulCalibur VI as First DLC Character, Fans Aren't Too Happy
@Flaming_Kaiser
