I hate to say it but we need a hard reset. Dare I say a "crash". The gaming market is so incredibly over saturated. I genuinely believe half the studios could cease to exist and there would still be too many good AND bad games. I could probably justify a backlog for the rest of my gaming life if literally no new games were made.
@CrispyMango92 I get that lol. She does the non clicker/dark creepy sections (the "walking sim" parts) just to feel involved maybe? Just trying to find a way to help involve her beyond watching. Luckily, my wife gets into some ***** like this. She's still easily scared though lol. That first bloater scene in the basement in Pittsburgh was almost the end
@CrispyMango92 drop it to the easiest difficulty and let her play with you! It's still tense and scary as all get out even on "story mode". It also makes the first game about 10 hours instead of 20 and the second game 20-25 instead of 35-40.
The hate is real lol. It looks like a great sandbox if it runs well. I hate that EVERYTHING has to reinvent the wheel in this day and age. If it's fun then that is all that matters. Looks to fill the Saints Row (1 and 2)/watchdogs void. I mean the dude behind the studio spent a lot of time at RockStar.
@twitchtvpat I can't imagine with the resources that were dedicated to TLoU online that 2 games, with their production values and length, are both releasing prior to the next decade. I hope you are right but with Intergalatic pegged for sometime in '27 I'd imagine the next game is a PS5 swan song with a cross gen port. I do hope you are right though lol.
@MrMeeeseeeks he isn't a personal favorite person for a lot but he also isn't some talentless hack. All the internet does is speculate and drive half truths and bs. He is far from an issue at ND. He didn't force the GaaS title or cancel it. I'm sure we'd already have Intergalactic and be anticipating the release of this newly 'confirmed' title.
Coming to a ps6 near you in 2030 lol. At least they are doing what they are the best at again. Shame I lost 2/3s of a decade of good gaming years to a big pile of nothing though.
So I'm in the vast minority but I just did NOT enjoy the combat. It just never hooked me at all. I wanted to enjoy it so much but I just couldn't find any enjoyment out if it. So I never got past the first several hours. Tried a few times.
I paid 94.99 at Babbages for a cart of Chrono Trigger in the mid 90s. I paid 84.99 for Killer Instinct Gold on N64 and about the same DK64. And DK required the expansion RAM pack. Those games would be the equivalent of $150+ accounting for inflation today. If you cant except it don't play. Or play the F2P potential money pits and stop complaining. I don't like it either considering the overall increased cost of living across the board but to call it excessively expensive is a massive reach. Especially considering one failed game and it's over for most. Just my opinion of course but I find the logic in NOT accepting these prices flawed.
The real reality...and it's not good...hear me out. These live service successes are so rare that Sony is still actually crushing lol. Just GT7 and HD2 alone are absurdly popular NEW(ish) live service titles, especially the latter. Finding one diamond in that ever expanding coal mine is all but impossible as GTAO, Fornite, Marvel Rivals and random Gatchas hog up 90%+ of the market. It's gross. But they leveraged a lot and haven't actually been burned. Sure the 4-6 canceled we know of probably had close 250-500 million invested. But the 2 successes coupled with the 3rd party live service revenue means they are eating good...it's scary lolol
@PuppetMaster I don't doubt that. The system was sold on a reel of games that featured Pragmata BEFORE the ps5 even launched. This wasn't just some random game that disappeared. They need to at least acknowledge it doesn't exist. Just on good faith. Which doesn't exist anymore in really any capacity apparently.
I'm glad there wasn't a time counter back on my gateway 2000 pentium lll when this released. Couldn't tell you how many times it would be 4 AM and it felt like 30 minute had gone by. If you know you know cheese steak jimmies
@Rangers420 I feel for you. You are going to get absolutely crushed if you have done Kvatch. The level scaling will make sure of that. If you are beyond level 10 you might as well start over or revert to a save before level 10. Most people don't know this. It's a total c u next Tuesday to beat the first oblivion gate if you are leveled up. Good luck and hopefully you aren't much past 10
@Dampsponge Split Fiction would like a word lol. But seriously you are right. It's rare, except for most Sony and Nintendo 1st party titles to get anything polished day 1. And even they slip up sometimes.
Never been a big fan of Remedy games but I've also kind of gotten away from horror titles as I've gotten older and Something about Control just felt off for me with the...controls lol. I can completely see why they are a highly regarded developer though. I am excited for the Max Payne remakes for sure
One of my all time favs. I'd of gladly paid but free means the base game did really well for them. Hope a sequel to this or the messenger are in the works
SP is gonna make GOTY with this. I have full faith. The INFamous games were amazing and GoT was amazing. They have an absolute killer track record with Sly before that. I don't think they have ever made a "bad" game
Please a proper port of Resogun to PS5. Virtually unplayable in co op on ps5. I feel like reso 2 could be realistic...it's probably just a proper reveal of their new IP.
Would be awesome if Sony would partner with Night Dive to work on porting some really awesome trapped ps3 games. They already said they are up to the challenge
The level scaling is the key. It was so busted. Feeling all OP, proceed to go through an oblivion gate, get destroyed lol. Or maybe by just a random bear. I collected every damn nirnroot though.
@Ooccoo_Jr that's a little disingenuous. Ps1 changed the game going from carts to disc, ps2 turned a game console into a multimedia device with DVD functionality, ps3 shopped with 2 consoles and Sonys proprietary Blu ray, ps4 took everything from the previous gens and streamlined it, ps5 ssd and dual sense controller.
@SlasherZ it's most likely to create panic and shift a million units before we also inevitably get the hose. I'm pretty sure even China will come to the table to talk soon enough. I'm no huge Trumper by any means but it would be disingenuous to say America hasn't been subsidizing several 1st/2nd and even 3rd world countries for a long time.
I think it looks pretty awesome if that is your Jam. I might check it out. But I'm damn near 40, demanding career and kids in sports...I've only hit 30 hours in Avowed and downloaded the day it dropped and LOVE it lol. So my time is so, so limited
I enjoyed remake so much more than rebirth. The Dyne 3 phase mutant bullet sponge battle was where I said to myself I hate what they did. The characters, world and music are so wonderfully realized. But damn...<<shown cut scene of 4 bullets essentially causing amputation/gun arm installed>>...now let's shoot Dyne with 15k bullets over the course of the slog infested phases where he turns into some mutant...that was it for me lol
@KawakiisaFraud FF7 OG is my GOAT and the bullet sponge, mutating Dyne fight was enough to stop me in my tracks....which sucks. The characters are so, so we'll realized. But damn the bullet sponge fights just took everything out of it for me.
@DennisReynolds that's exactly why it couldn't hit 60fps. It's so visually exhausting all you could do is walk.and have scripted events. It was a massive disappointment to me. And no Xbox hate here. Been playing Avowed and Balatro a LOT lately
Deus Ex blew my mind on the OG Xbox. It was like a slightly more refined Shenmue in a cyberpunk setting. Shame nobody will bite on a unique, established franchise.
9 is my 2nd favorite mainline FF title. Was so unique in tone. It blended the old school high fantasy with some FF6 and FF7 vibes somehow smashed together. Aside from a slightly convoluted equipment system it was a phenomenal rpg. All for the remake but i worry about the "bullet sponge" type bosses and the combat being some weird hack n slash mess. Clair Obscur looks to have the perfect balance from what I've seen blending old school rpg combat. If that's true let's hope ff9 does that
Bungie is an amazing dev. They've sure as he'll had their problems and made some mistakes. But they always have made really engaging and fun titles gameplay wise. I hope this game has a narrow focus. The art direction is gorgeous. We know they know how to make a weapon feel great. They know they have to nail this.
This gen for ND has been rough. Once the pinnacle of game development. I'd call the studio a long running joke atm due to the non existent ps5 generation unless its bad press. It's a shame but damn.
No Chrono Trigger? No Resident Evil? No Halo? He'll I'd even argue TLoU deserves a spot. I see a lot of Shenmue hate. If you played that game when it first dropped it was a surreal experience. It changed the thought process of what a game could be.
The fact 1st party physical is $90 is outrageous. Will be a good reason to skip imo. And digital at $80. Nintendo doing some very Nintendo things. Makes that eyewatering $100+ price tag for GTA6 seem much more plausible now

Enough MB to cover the license check? Lol. It's tragic. Sony be like damn...made these 128GB blurays nothing

@twitchtvpat it was just a generalization for the golden goose. Yes I'm aware those are live service.

And it'll be at least 5 years until Bend or Bluepoint produce a game if they aren't shuttered entirely. All to find a Fortnite....
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your PS5 Predictions for Summer Game Fest 2025?
@Americansamurai1 that would maybe be the best SoP of all time lol. Might want to dial expectations back just a bit
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your PS5 Predictions for Summer Game Fest 2025?
I'd love for Sony to get in on the Xbox shadow drop just even once. Like the rumored shorter GoW from SSM.
