Re: Xbox Feels It Made a Mistake Skipping PS5 with Hellblade 2, It's Claimed

I don't mean this as some kind of hot take/edge lord nonsense but I think the mistake was just making the game. It's a deeply disturbing and beautiful piece of art. A fun and enjoyable game though....that's a stretch. Whatever level of pre-production the game was in when NT was acquired should have been scrapped and the assets that could have been salvaged should have to support something different. Just my opinion of course.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring DLC in The Game Awards' Fan Vote Final

What hot garbage. 3 gotcha freemium games, dlc and one good action game. I get Erdtree is amazing content so don't kill me for that. We just eating where we sh*t now ifnwe arent an eastern nation lol. Every comment I read complains about these games dominating the landscape. Could have just said Fortnite, GTA online and some.early access free to play title

Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss Thinks the Days of Consoles Are Numbered

I think ps3 to ps4 was pretty big for exactly why he said. Network infrastructure. I also think ps4 to ps5 was pretty big due to going from 1 minute plus loading screens to near instantaneous gaming. I get some of his points but as long as the boxes plug in and play with limited baggage I can't see them just disappearing. Especially considering places like the US are so huge and our electric grid is ducktape and paperclips. Hell we had 300,000 households on dial up just 4 years ago lol. Ain't no Giga nothing in many parts of this country. And plenty of providers throttle the piss out of your connection. Need boxes, need physical/digitaldownload..at least in the states

Re: Former Mass Effect Lead's New Sci-Fi Game Cancelled, Developer Shuts Down

The reality is if you are a proven industry veteran will a killer resume in this day and age you almost have to crowd fund or Kickstart (which I am a big fan of tbh) to have a chance. That isn't a full proof answer...that direction has many caveats. But loans from private equity firms or publishers with shareholders has become a very volatile way to try and survive

Re: Starbreeze Plans 'Significantly Lower Level of Investment' for PAYDAY 3

This should be more proof that the GaaS model ship has sailed. Yes this game had issues at launch but from a gameplay perspective it made some solid improvements and QoL features. Dopamine is a funny thing. Even the next iteration in your favorite service title isn't a certainty. There's a reason Fortnite OG is coming back permanent and OVerW2 failed to catch the the OVerW1 crowd the same way. You put a 1000 hrs into something and even a new loading screen can deter. Service games can adapt/update(fornite, cod, apex etc.) But outside of CoD creating new annual game for GaaS titles or even sequels has a track record for being a disaster...regardless of the good reasons some of you will give me. People don't want to abandon the time/effort

Re: Do You Really Want Devs to Make Lower Budget, More Original Games for PS5?

Nyne11Tyme

I smaller budget sure. But it needs to be a polished, cohesive and fun experience. If a smaller budget means a sloppy, ugly and poor performing game (not sales wise but literal game performance) then we are icing the budget for the wrong reasons. RoboCop did very well, Sea of Stars did very well. It can be done. Maybe Kunitsu-Gami doesn't scream approachable to the masses lol. Banishers is a sad one to see as that looked pretty cool.

Re: Secret Level Creator Comments on Concord's Awkward Anthology Inclusion

The game was doomed from the reveal. Sure it wasn't ground breaking but it wasn't some abomination. **Full Disclaimer** I was never going to play it- just ain't my thing. It was 10 years late, wasn't free, ripped off GotG AND the internet is loud. Sony isn't known for this type of game. Just stepping into this realm from Uncharted, Ghosts, GoW, ASTRO, TLoU and many other single-player oriented titles I won't list meant it was screwed from jump. If this was made by a 3rd party dev I think it would have been closer to a suicide squad or Xdefiant type failure...not the most colossal failure in any medium of entertainment ever lol

Re: Sony Knows How to Sell PS5 in China, And It's with Gacha

@get2sammyb but interest has capped. We aren't bringing in millions more gamers each generation. There is proof of a ceiling in total players. If we aren't bringing in more and more new clientele and the major Live Service games are established and consistent, not to mention the amount of time players have already spent building their levels and characters, how does a new entry take away millions of players from something so well established? I'd argue the ship has sailed on creating another fornite or CoD and the sooner the industry realizes that the better.
