@Sanquine thanks for that - just had a read through. Ignoring the credibility of any of the sources, It doesn’t in any way support your argument that most pc players are pirating, nor that most pc titles played are pirated rather than legitimate copies.
What it does say is that the PC market accounts for roughly $40 billion, of that $40 billion $1.2 is estimated to be lost through piracy. Not great, obviously, but far from the majority of revenue.
It also says that IF a game’s DRM is cracked within the first week it might cost the game about 20% in sales. It fails to state how often this occurs vs not occurring - most likely because it’s incredibly rare.
In terms of the extra hidden costs of piracy, those aren’t exclusive to pc. The reason piracy isn’t as prevalent on console as pc isn’t because consoles are just inherently impossible to hack. It’s because the console manufacturers spend a ton of money to make it so.
I sold my original switch for a decent amount of money last year - I got more money for it because of its model number. It was an older version of the console that could be jailbroken. The newer models had that vulnerability fixed on a hardware level. Something Nintendo spent additional money to rectify.
Thank you for the link, but it just underlines the fact that your original statement was hyperbolic and false.
@Sanquine got some stats to back your piracy statement up? “Most pirate a lot of games” - most being more than half and a lot being more than their collection of legitimate copies?
Piracy does exist on pc - but it’s far from the norm and is why the majority of modern titles on PC are flooded with DRM.
Yes, there’s more cheating on PC. Not because there’s more of those type of players - purely because it’s an open platform and it’s easier to do.
When possible, it is also a problem on console. I remember playing cod on ps3 and having to suffer through lobbies with people using aim bot, invisibility and other obnoxious hacks.
You still get disruptive players on the current generation of consoles - they might not be able to hack but they’ll find other ways to troll and ruin people’s experience.
“PC players don’t deserve anything” - what a childish opinion.

It makes zero sense to me to be releasing new hardware when ram prices are where they are and at a time of prolonged economic uncertainty. The ps5 pro is pretty capable thanks to pssr and the base ps5 still holds up ok. They’re also relatively affordable.

If the next Xbox plays pc games, has access to pc storefronts, runs some form of windows and is essentially a pc how can it possibly also be capable of playing console titles in the same optimised way a console can? It most likely can’t. In order to do so it will require some form of compromise. There’s a reason the current and past generation of console have not been pcs.
Will have to see how this plays out. I doubt this will make a huge difference to hardware sales. The huge lag and variable gap between titles launching on console and PC means those remotely interested in PlayStation already have the hardware (I have both PC and PS5). I also suspect exclusive first party titles will be under slightly more pressure to hit sales milestones and justify their development.
I do think Sony have been a bit fortunate that Xbox have put themselves in a position where they need to bring their first party titles to PlayStation. Sony suddenly have a slew of extra games to fill any gaps in their own first party output.
Lastly, if I were anyone working at nixxes I’d be slightly concerned about my long term future with the studio.
For those looking to pick this up on console. I’ve just watched content creator fightincowboy’s preview video for crimson desert. He states that he asked about PlayStation performance but didn’t get any direct answer. He was, however, told that digital foundry were being provided with console review copies and should have performance content available at launch.
While not perfect, it is worth noting that several developers in the past have not provided digital foundry with early copies of their games and the group have had to wait to pick up some titles when on general release.
There’s no obligation to provide any review copies to media and if the console versions were truly terrible I’m sure digital foundry would only be provided with early pc copies of the game.
All this being said, I still wouldn’t be preordering this on console until performance reviews are made available.
Barely any footage, but my initial thought is it’s not fromsoft just based on the fact that all their titles are all pretty dark in tone. This doesn’t look like it fits their aesthetic. More than happy to be wrong though.
Edit: also, after receiving investment from tencent and Sony, I think fromsoft were moving towards self publishing internationally. Therefore I don’t even know if their next game would be under Bandai Namco
Not sure if this is the case for anyone else, but because of how many hours I’ve sunk into god of war 2018, ragnarok and the last of us, I’ve struggled with the tv shows. Joel and Ellie have been cast through the video games as have Kratos and Atreus - the performances in the games were outstanding as was the presentation - the VAs are the characters.
The tv shows always look and sound like odd parodies to my brain in comparison, it’s a sticking point I wasn’t able to break when I tried watching the last of us show. I’m getting that same feel from this shot for god of war - it’s almost like an uncanny valley thing.
PlayStation’s pc strategy has always felt half-hearted to me, releasing titles often years after their initial console release was never going to be hugely successful.
As a pc owner I will miss having the option to play titles using an nvidia gpu at higher frame rates and ultrawide resolutions. I do understand, however, that with Microsoft no longer providing any meaningful competition there’s even less reason to for PlayStation to look to the PC space. They can continue to grow by taking Microsoft’s share of the market whilst maintaining full control of the marketplace where their titles are sold.
I’m completely disinterested in the modern live service models which are designed to squeeze as much money and time from the player as possible. As such, I guess I might not be double dipping and picking up the ‘definitive’ edition on pc of any future Sony first party titles, which is disappointing.
Thankfully first party titles are well optimised on the base ps5 and being able to buy on disc allows me the freedom to sell and recoup some of the cost of a title once completed if I so choose.
Having said all this, I’ve yet to play a title exclusive to ps5 that I would describe as unmissable or genre defining, so maybe PC only players won’t be missing out on a huge amount.
@Atreus97 I think the only thing not taken seriously is the fact that you’re at the mercy of a dev team as to whether or not you get full value from your ps5 pro.
Thankfully capcom seem to have been able to make use of the full capabilities of the pro for this game.
Have Sony revealed sales figures for ps5 pro consoles? I’m assuming obsidian have decided that there’s not enough of an install base to merit the cost of additional support at launch.
I still think there’s a chance, depending on sales, that it gets an update down the line to add some pro specific enhancements.
Like others have said, I had no idea the ps5 supported ultrawide format. There’s several different resolutions at 21:9 - I hope DS2 supports 1440p ultrawide as that’s the monitor I have for my pc. Yet to finish the game, so I’d happily hook the ps5 up to it for the ultrawide experience, provided I can maintain 60fps.
@Stragen8 I would assume so, there’s no additional production and logistical costs regarding digital media for a publisher. The storefront hosts the digital copy and any associated costs are covered by their sales cut. Also, you can’t trade a digital copy so there’s no risk of sales being cannibalized by the second hand market (money that the publisher doesn’t see).
There’s very little incentive, other than potential negative sentiment, for a publisher to provide a physical copy in today’s market. Not really a problem for anyone that’s transitioned to digital only, but obviously an issue for anyone who still covets a physical collection.
@themightyant hopefully the AI bubble will have burst by then and mid range pc tech will offer a compelling upgrade to my 4070ti super when compared to ps6/xbox next.
If not, I might be tempted by Sony or Microsoft’s offerings for the first few years of the next console cycle.
Makes sense if you’re a smaller indie studio with limited resources. Target the largest install base on console, PS5, along with PC. Bring the game to Xbox later down the line if it sells sufficient numbers during its initial launch.
@Oram77 I’m not sure about console performance, but digital foundry got to see an earlier build running on pc at AMD’s CES booth this month. They came away pretty impressed with the engine and performance, 40-50fps at native 4k with no upscaling on a 9070xt. It seems to be an AMD sponsored title, and given that both consoles run AMD hardware it might not be as bad as people are fearing. Especially for the pro which could have access to the new FSR machine learning upscaler by the game’s mid March launch.
@JamesLimited5990 yes, the Cuban missile crisis in the early 60s was a pretty tense situation, the closest the world has come to a nuclear war. (Way before my time, but I’m aware of its historical significance)
The fact gta V is still ranks in the top 3 downloaded titles of 2025 blows my mind. I wonder how long gta 6 will exist before (if) we get gta 7? Also, how much money has gta 5 made rockstar since launch? I know it has some of the highest production costs of any game (although star citizen has raised a ton of money through early access), but it must surely have one of the highest return to cost ratio’s of any triple A title in history.
@graymamba not wow, just a response to the idea that there will be a “glut” of comments about Xbox taking money from “ponies”? Like, really? I’ve not seen one yet, and I would hope were one written it would be quickly removed for trolling.
I struggle with both PlayStation and XBox “fans” whose satisfaction and enjoyment from playing a title hinges more on the fact that others don’t have access to it, than the actual game itself. Absolutely moronic.
@graymamba pretty sure that’s the aim of every company - try to extract as much money as possible from the consumer. It’s the consumer responsibility to decide whether or not they’re willing to part with their money and for regulatory bodies to ensure consumer welfare is maintained and that companies are working within legality.
I don’t really have 5 most anticipated ps5 titles as I mainly play on PC, I only have 2 - Wolverine and Saros. Nioh 3 might be a third if team ninja release yet another terrible pc port.
Unfortunately you cannot submit your vote with anything less than 5 titles. I added gta 6 even though I’ll be waiting on the pc version and marvel Tokon, simply because it’s being published by Sony.
@Czar_Khastik it’s absolutely fine to have another choice for GOTY. But to say that were Expedition 33 to win GOTY it would be due largely to hype and not on merit is just stupid. It might not be your pick, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve the title.
I had no hype for the game before it released, only mild interest. I played the game on gamepass and ended up buying it. I’ve played every title nominated in the GOTY category and Expedition 33 is absolutely my favourite game of 2025.
It could have been made by a studio of 500 people with a budget of $600 million, it would still be my GOTY. Nothing to do with hype and everything to do with the game and the sum of its parts - I typically don’t even enjoy turn-based jrpg styled games.
@illegalmonkey it’s relative. Compared to the film and television IP those games are irrelevant, especially to a buyer like Netflix. Netflix has a passing interest in the mobile platform but ultimately has shown very little interest in funding or overseeing the development of its own titles.
If the deal goes through, I could very much see Netflix selling off/disbanding the studios it acquires, then taking a similar approach to Disney and licensing the rights of its IP to other gaming publishers and developers.
@Jammer Uk, Canada, France - one global leadership? What on earth are you on about? Napoleon is dead, the British empire is non-existent and I have no idea how Canada fit into your fever dream.
Also, consolidation of gaming publishers is on topic and very much a feature of the video games industry - one global leadership isn’t a thing and has nothing to do with video games.
@TurboTom weird thing to say, hoping other people don’t get to play a game you’ve enjoyed.
I was happy that Xbox were bringing their titles to PlayStation despite having a pc, purely so others could have the option to play more titles. I don’t get any less enjoyment from playing a title if people on another platform have access to it - the two things aren’t related. PlayStation first party titles are extremely well optimised on ps5, they have solid performance modes and great visual quality. In several cases the ps5 versions are actually better in terms of performance than pc.
The PlayStation brand is the strongest it’s ever been - I don’t actually believe they need any exclusive titles to maintain their strangle hold on the high end market right now either.
I have a pc and a ps5, titles coming to pc at a later date hasn’t stopped me buying every first party title at launch on ps5. But it has made me double dip in a few cases.
@EfYI I have a pc and base ps5 - if gta6 doesn’t have a locked 60fps with decent image quality (I suspect it won’t) I’ll happily skip it’s console launch and pick it up on pc when it eventually makes its way to steam. I suspect there’s a lot of pc players with a similar mindset and/or those that have a preference towards mnk control schemes.
Happy that insomniac are doubling down on their release window in spite of gta’s delay, as this will be my most anticipated 2026 holiday title on PlayStation.
The Japanese gaming market hasn’t reflected western markets for a long time - the traditional console gaming box is no longer the dominant form factor.
Handheld has been the preferred option among the Japanese for a while now and it’s unsurprising that the switch 2 is selling well. Especially when you look at switch 1 sales and Nintendo’s consistent domination of Japan’s software sales charts.
@RoomWithaMoose this. You get two highly skilled players, one with mnk one with controller - the mnk player will win out. For the vast majority of casual players there really isn’t a huge difference, especially in games that don’t have a competitive esports scene.
I played d2 PvP on pc with a controller which doesn’t have console crossplay and managed a 2 kd for many years.
@LifeGirl my step-mum bought a VW iD3 a few years ago, automatic headlights were “free” when she bought the car - they’re now a subscription enabled feature.
It could be said that items or services that were once free and are no longer are a result of corporations looking to squeeze their consumers and increase their profit margins. Also, there’s no actual guarantee that any of the revenue generated is being put towards improving the service that was once free.
In the case of VW - they’re just profiteering at the expense of the consumer. The service they’re charging for is identical to the one that was previously “free”.
I’m fairly confident that in 5-10 years time you’ll be able to replace ‘EA game development’ with ‘the world’ to read “The world is very quickly becoming an AI driven hellscape.”
@GamingGod that’s good, but you shouldn’t have to hand pick titles or wait for patches to see that improvement - it should also be a pretty significant improvement given the power delta.
Happy for those that are still pleased with their pro purchase, however I’m glad I opted to stick with the base model and use the pro money for a gpu upgrade instead.
Yet another reason why I picked PC over console for third party titles - a gpu with a 45% performance uplift (Cerny’s stated improvement in performance of the pro vs base ps5) is guaranteed to deliver significant in-game improvements.
PS5 pro is at the mercy of developers when it comes to delivering better performance and is very hit and miss - disappointingly, $700 doesn’t guarantee anything when playing third party titles.
@Can-You-Believe-Sith they’re not seeking the billion dollars back, they’re seeking a return on investment. The money spent on acquisitions isn’t lost, it’s recorded as assets. If they truly wanted the money back they’d sell these assets (developers).
As mentioned by others they’re clearly looking at the opportunity cost compared to having invested that money in AI. As such, they’re seeking to maximise their return as quickly as possible, cut costs and bring it in line with other sectors of their business.
Boycotting a game of this quality and with this marketing budget with the disillusioned idea that anyone actually cares or that it will somehow have an impact on total sales is stupidity in its finest form.
Hogwarts legacy attracted the most controversy and had probably one of the largest boycotts in gaming history, yet is still Warner bros studios highest grossing title. As of November last year it had sold 30 million copies and generated over $1 billion.
@Ainu20 it could easily launch at a $700 price point and not be considered underpowered in the pc space.
I have to assume you have limited knowledge of the PC market and therefore don’t realise that an xx90 Nvidia gpu is not representative of the hardware being used by the vast majority of the PC user base. The steam hardware survey (a very representative measure of hardware usage) shows that the most popular gpu’s are Nvidia xx60’s. In September the most popular gpu was the laptop 4060 sku, with the 3060 being the second most popular desktop gpu, followed closely by the 4060 and 3050 cards. These cards are all considered entry level gpu’s and are also nearly 5 to 3 years old. None of them are as powerful as a ps5 pro, some considerably less.
A next generation Xbox at $700 is likely to be more powerful than the hardware of the vast majority of pc users when it launches.
With regards to optimisation on pc, developers still target specific hardware configurations - it’s why they provide a minimum and recommended spec. There’s no reason why an Xbox pc/hybrid wouldn’t serve as a target - if anything there’s more reason as it’s fixed hardware would represent a far greater proportion of users. An Xbox running pc versions of titles wouldn’t provide the optimisation headache of having infinite hardware configurations (ram, ssd, gpu, cpu etc).
As you say, it’s all conjecture at this point. As a pc owner I’m interested to see what Xbox do, but I doubt I would replace my Nvidia machine with AMD. I’m also a minority user in that I have a high/mid range system so I’m not sure Xbox would be targeting me.
@Ainu20 not really, yes it would probably be more expensive than a traditional console, but significantly? Given the ps5 pro is $700, probably not significantly. Relative to a similar powered pc it is also more than likely to be cheaper.
In terms of optimisations, why wouldn’t devs target it if it were to be the ‘next generation Xbox’? It would have the same static hardware configuration as a conventional console and devs already optimise for the current generation of Microsoft hardware. When series x/s launched and had a comparatively tiny install base to the Xbox one, games shipped and were optimised for both generations. A console/pc hybrid does not change this precedent.
There is no naivety at play here whatsoever, if the next generation of Xbox truly is a pc/console hybrid everything I’ve stated is entirely plausible.
@Ainu20 yes, which would be the purpose of a hybrid console/pc machine. The benefits of a pc combined with those of a console. Some or all of the pc features described in my previous comment combined with some of the console’s biggest strengths - a relative cheaper point of entry and targeted optimisation.
The irony here is that were Microsoft to launch a pc/console hybrid next generation it would potentially offer a far more transformative upgrade than the ps6:
Access to steam and multiple storefronts, Ultrawide and various other resolution support m&k compatibility and access to real time strategy genre’s that typically aren’t available on console and play poorly with controller (total war franchise along with StarCraft). Also, the ability to fully customise and tweak game performance through a comprehensive set of graphical and resolution settings including FoV and motion blur settings typically not available on console.
All of these things in addition to the extra power and AI feature set that will be present on the PS6.
My ps5 is my exclusives console, everything else I play on pc. I’ll get a ps6 when Sony’s first party no longer releases on ps5, or when exclusives no longer run at a solid 60fps - whichever happens first.
I doubt that either of these will come to pass within the first year or two of the ps6’s release. I suspect ps6 versions of first party titles will just have more robust raytracing, higher native resolutions and possibly a 120fps target performance mode during the cross-generation period. As such I’m unlikely to buy one at launch.
Tried all the infamous games back when they launched and only finished infamous 2 and second son. Really not high up on my list of Sony remasters tbh, more towards the bottom.
Sony need to remaster bloodborne, jak and daxter, sly cooper, resistance and the earlier god of war titles before they begin to think about bringing back infamous. Especially with insomniac releasing a regular cadence of superhero titles on PlayStation.
@Lowdefal absolutely, Sony seem to have had the better sdk this generation which has resulted in the base ps5 outperforming the series x in all but a handful of titles. It’s also worth saying that Sony’s considerable market share means that devs probably prioritise optimisations for ps5 when constrained by budget and time.
A more powerful next generation Xbox will be more beneficial to consumers if, as rumoured, it takes the form of a console/pc hybrid AND allows full graphics settings autonomy as on pc. Consumers can then choose whether they want high frame rates, higher resolution, ray tracing, motion blur, FOV etc and prioritise what they feel is important rather than being at the mercy of what the developer wants.
I’ve bought four games to date this year - monster hunter wilds, death stranding 2, borderlands 4 and ghost of yotei. I have no plans to buy any more although I will be playing the outer worlds 2 with gamepass at some point before the end of the year.
Edit: I have also played doom, expedition 33 and avowed through gamepass and subbed for a couple of months to do so. Would I have bought any of these gamepass titles at full price were the service not to exist? Extremely unlikely.

Thankfully capcom seem to have been able to make use of the full capabilities of the pro for this game.
Re: Xbox RPG Avowed Snubs PS5 Pro Support
Have Sony revealed sales figures for ps5 pro consoles? I’m assuming obsidian have decided that there’s not enough of an install base to merit the cost of additional support at launch.
I still think there’s a chance, depending on sales, that it gets an update down the line to add some pro specific enhancements.
Re: More Modes and Features for Death Stranding 2 Announced, Coming to PS5 Next Month
Re: Rumour: GTA 6 Might Not Launch Physically at First to Avoid Leaks
@Stragen8 I would assume so, there’s no additional production and logistical costs regarding digital media for a publisher. The storefront hosts the digital copy and any associated costs are covered by their sales cut. Also, you can’t trade a digital copy so there’s no risk of sales being cannibalized by the second hand market (money that the publisher doesn’t see).
There’s very little incentive, other than potential negative sentiment, for a publisher to provide a physical copy in today’s market. Not really a problem for anyone that’s transitioned to digital only, but obviously an issue for anyone who still covets a physical collection.
Re: Sony Set to Delay PS6 Release Date, Claims Financial Report
@themightyant hopefully the AI bubble will have burst by then and mid range pc tech will offer a compelling upgrade to my 4070ti super when compared to ps6/xbox next.
If not, I might be tempted by Sony or Microsoft’s offerings for the first few years of the next console cycle.
Re: Captivating Historical Italian Adventure Becomes PS5 Console Exclusive to 'Deliver the Best Experience'
Makes sense if you’re a smaller indie studio with limited resources. Target the largest install base on console, PS5, along with PC. Bring the game to Xbox later down the line if it sells sufficient numbers during its initial launch.
Re: Fable Announced for PS5, Releases in Autumn 2026
@RBMango made a lot of video games have you? 😉
Re: Crimson Desert Goes Gold, Ambitious PS5 Open Worlder Locks in March Release Date
Re: GTA 6 Dev Rockstar North Cordoned Off After Reported Explosion
@JamesLimited5990 yes, the Cuban missile crisis in the early 60s was a pretty tense situation, the closest the world has come to a nuclear war. (Way before my time, but I’m aware of its historical significance)
Re: Most Downloaded PS5 Games of 2025 Revealed, as Xbox's Forza Horizon 5 Tops Ghost of Yotei
Re: Fable Is 'Understood' to Be Coming to PS5, Says New Report
@graymamba not wow, just a response to the idea that there will be a “glut” of comments about Xbox taking money from “ponies”? Like, really? I’ve not seen one yet, and I would hope were one written it would be quickly removed for trolling.
I struggle with both PlayStation and XBox “fans” whose satisfaction and enjoyment from playing a title hinges more on the fact that others don’t have access to it, than the actual game itself. Absolutely moronic.
Re: Fable Is 'Understood' to Be Coming to PS5, Says New Report
@graymamba pretty sure that’s the aim of every company - try to extract as much money as possible from the consumer. It’s the consumer responsibility to decide whether or not they’re willing to part with their money and for regulatory bodies to ensure consumer welfare is maintained and that companies are working within legality.
Re: Microsoft CEO Really Wants You to Stop Calling Generative AI 'Slop'
Oh no, are the megacorps starting to worry that their billion dollar AI pushes aren’t going to actually provide any tangible return on investment?
What a disaster that the consumers on whom you rely to turn a profit are calling out your inferior AI “slop” for what it actually is.
Make a good product that consumers choose to buy, rather than force a crap product on consumers that they don’t want to buy.
Objective, justified backlash would be the better way to view the term “AI slop”.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5 Games of 2026?
I don’t really have 5 most anticipated ps5 titles as I mainly play on PC, I only have 2 - Wolverine and Saros. Nioh 3 might be a third if team ninja release yet another terrible pc port.
Unfortunately you cannot submit your vote with anything less than 5 titles. I added gta 6 even though I’ll be waiting on the pc version and marvel Tokon, simply because it’s being published by Sony.
Re: Want a Three Minute Slot During The Game Awards? That'll Be $1 Million, Please
Re: Netflix Says Warner Bros Games Doesn't Hold 'Any Value' in $82 Billion Acquisition
Re: Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat Publisher Warner Bros Bought for $82 Billion by Netflix
Re: Rumour: An Xbox Partner Showcase Is Imminent, Will Be Announced 'Very Soon'
Re: After GTA 6 Delay, Wolverine PS5 Doubles Down on Fall 2026 Release Date
@EfYI I have a pc and base ps5 - if gta6 doesn’t have a locked 60fps with decent image quality (I suspect it won’t) I’ll happily skip it’s console launch and pick it up on pc when it eventually makes its way to steam. I suspect there’s a lot of pc players with a similar mindset and/or those that have a preference towards mnk control schemes.
Happy that insomniac are doubling down on their release window in spite of gta’s delay, as this will be my most anticipated 2026 holiday title on PlayStation.
Re: In Japan, Switch 2 Retail Sales Are Already Closing on PS5
The Japanese gaming market hasn’t reflected western markets for a long time - the traditional console gaming box is no longer the dominant form factor.
Handheld has been the preferred option among the Japanese for a while now and it’s unsurprising that the switch 2 is selling well. Especially when you look at switch 1 sales and Nintendo’s consistent domination of Japan’s software sales charts.
Re: PC Players or Bots? Battlefield 6 PS5 Players Frustrated by Crossplay Situation
Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?
@LifeGirl my step-mum bought a VW iD3 a few years ago, automatic headlights were “free” when she bought the car - they’re now a subscription enabled feature.
It could be said that items or services that were once free and are no longer are a result of corporations looking to squeeze their consumers and increase their profit margins. Also, there’s no actual guarantee that any of the revenue generated is being put towards improving the service that was once free.
In the case of VW - they’re just profiteering at the expense of the consumer. The service they’re charging for is identical to the one that was previously “free”.
Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?
Correct me if I’m wrong but f2p titles like marvel rivals, Fortnite and overwatch are still free to play multiplayer on PlayStation, right?
Re: EA's Game Development Is Very Quickly Becoming an AI-Driven Hellscape, Report Claims
I’m fairly confident that in 5-10 years time you’ll be able to replace ‘EA game development’ with ‘the world’ to read “The world is very quickly becoming an AI driven hellscape.”
Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch
@Th3solution has it been confirmed that gta6 will run at 60fps on ps5 pro? Or are we assuming it will?
Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch
Re: PS5 Pro Is Definitely Not the Best Place to Play The Outer Worlds 2 at Launch
Re: PS6 Could Be Less Than Half the Price of Microsoft's 'Very Premium' Next-Gen Xbox
Re: Sep 2025 USA Sales: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Boycott Fails, Sequel Sells 'Great'
Boycotting a game of this quality and with this marketing budget with the disillusioned idea that anyone actually cares or that it will somehow have an impact on total sales is stupidity in its finest form.
Hogwarts legacy attracted the most controversy and had probably one of the largest boycotts in gaming history, yet is still Warner bros studios highest grossing title. As of November last year it had sold 30 million copies and generated over $1 billion.
Re: 'Even I Can't Tell the Difference': Shuhei Yoshida Thinks PS6 Needs Something Other Than Just More Power
Re: 'Even I Can't Tell the Difference': Shuhei Yoshida Thinks PS6 Needs Something Other Than Just More Power
Re: 'Even I Can't Tell the Difference': Shuhei Yoshida Thinks PS6 Needs Something Other Than Just More Power
@Ainu20 yes, which would be the purpose of a hybrid console/pc machine. The benefits of a pc combined with those of a console. Some or all of the pc features described in my previous comment combined with some of the console’s biggest strengths - a relative cheaper point of entry and targeted optimisation.
Re: 'Even I Can't Tell the Difference': Shuhei Yoshida Thinks PS6 Needs Something Other Than Just More Power
Re: Talking Point: PS6 In 2027 - How Do You Feel About Sony's Next-Gen Console?
My ps5 is my exclusives console, everything else I play on pc. I’ll get a ps6 when Sony’s first party no longer releases on ps5, or when exclusives no longer run at a solid 60fps - whichever happens first.
I doubt that either of these will come to pass within the first year or two of the ps6’s release. I suspect ps6 versions of first party titles will just have more robust raytracing, higher native resolutions and possibly a 120fps target performance mode during the cross-generation period. As such I’m unlikely to buy one at launch.
Re: As Fans Demand inFAMOUS Remasters, Sucker Punch Says It Can Only Work on One Game at a Time
Tried all the infamous games back when they launched and only finished infamous 2 and second son.
Re: PS6 Release Date Touted for 2027, Cheaper But Less Powerful Than Next Xbox
Re: People Don't Buy Anywhere Near As Many Games As You Think
I’ve bought four games to date this year - monster hunter wilds, death stranding 2, borderlands 4 and ghost of yotei. I have no plans to buy any more although I will be playing the outer worlds 2 with gamepass at some point before the end of the year.
Edit: I have also played doom, expedition 33 and avowed through gamepass and subbed for a couple of months to do so. Would I have bought any of these gamepass titles at full price were the service not to exist? Extremely unlikely.
