@TurboTom weird thing to say, hoping other people don’t get to play a game you’ve enjoyed.
I was happy that Xbox were bringing their titles to PlayStation despite having a pc, purely so others could have the option to play more titles. I don’t get any less enjoyment from playing a title if people on another platform have access to it - the two things aren’t related. PlayStation first party titles are extremely well optimised on ps5, they have solid performance modes and great visual quality. In several cases the ps5 versions are actually better in terms of performance than pc.
The PlayStation brand is the strongest it’s ever been - I don’t actually believe they need any exclusive titles to maintain their strangle hold on the high end market right now either.
I have a pc and a ps5, titles coming to pc at a later date hasn’t stopped me buying every first party title at launch on ps5. But it has made me double dip in a few cases.
@EfYI I have a pc and base ps5 - if gta6 doesn’t have a locked 60fps with decent image quality (I suspect it won’t) I’ll happily skip it’s console launch and pick it up on pc when it eventually makes its way to steam. I suspect there’s a lot of pc players with a similar mindset and/or those that have a preference towards mnk control schemes.
Happy that insomniac are doubling down on their release window in spite of gta’s delay, as this will be my most anticipated 2026 holiday title on PlayStation.
The Japanese gaming market hasn’t reflected western markets for a long time - the traditional console gaming box is no longer the dominant form factor.
Handheld has been the preferred option among the Japanese for a while now and it’s unsurprising that the switch 2 is selling well. Especially when you look at switch 1 sales and Nintendo’s consistent domination of Japan’s software sales charts.
@RoomWithaMoose this. You get two highly skilled players, one with mnk one with controller - the mnk player will win out. For the vast majority of casual players there really isn’t a huge difference, especially in games that don’t have a competitive esports scene.
I played d2 PvP on pc with a controller which doesn’t have console crossplay and managed a 2 kd for many years.
@LifeGirl my step-mum bought a VW iD3 a few years ago, automatic headlights were “free” when she bought the car - they’re now a subscription enabled feature.
It could be said that items or services that were once free and are no longer are a result of corporations looking to squeeze their consumers and increase their profit margins. Also, there’s no actual guarantee that any of the revenue generated is being put towards improving the service that was once free.
In the case of VW - they’re just profiteering at the expense of the consumer. The service they’re charging for is identical to the one that was previously “free”.
I’m fairly confident that in 5-10 years time you’ll be able to replace ‘EA game development’ with ‘the world’ to read “The world is very quickly becoming an AI driven hellscape.”
@GamingGod that’s good, but you shouldn’t have to hand pick titles or wait for patches to see that improvement - it should also be a pretty significant improvement given the power delta.
Happy for those that are still pleased with their pro purchase, however I’m glad I opted to stick with the base model and use the pro money for a gpu upgrade instead.
Yet another reason why I picked PC over console for third party titles - a gpu with a 45% performance uplift (Cerny’s stated improvement in performance of the pro vs base ps5) is guaranteed to deliver significant in-game improvements.
PS5 pro is at the mercy of developers when it comes to delivering better performance and is very hit and miss - disappointingly, $700 doesn’t guarantee anything when playing third party titles.
@Can-You-Believe-Sith they’re not seeking the billion dollars back, they’re seeking a return on investment. The money spent on acquisitions isn’t lost, it’s recorded as assets. If they truly wanted the money back they’d sell these assets (developers).
As mentioned by others they’re clearly looking at the opportunity cost compared to having invested that money in AI. As such, they’re seeking to maximise their return as quickly as possible, cut costs and bring it in line with other sectors of their business.
Boycotting a game of this quality and with this marketing budget with the disillusioned idea that anyone actually cares or that it will somehow have an impact on total sales is stupidity in its finest form.
Hogwarts legacy attracted the most controversy and had probably one of the largest boycotts in gaming history, yet is still Warner bros studios highest grossing title. As of November last year it had sold 30 million copies and generated over $1 billion.
@Ainu20 it could easily launch at a $700 price point and not be considered underpowered in the pc space.
I have to assume you have limited knowledge of the PC market and therefore don’t realise that an xx90 Nvidia gpu is not representative of the hardware being used by the vast majority of the PC user base. The steam hardware survey (a very representative measure of hardware usage) shows that the most popular gpu’s are Nvidia xx60’s. In September the most popular gpu was the laptop 4060 sku, with the 3060 being the second most popular desktop gpu, followed closely by the 4060 and 3050 cards. These cards are all considered entry level gpu’s and are also nearly 5 to 3 years old. None of them are as powerful as a ps5 pro, some considerably less.
A next generation Xbox at $700 is likely to be more powerful than the hardware of the vast majority of pc users when it launches.
With regards to optimisation on pc, developers still target specific hardware configurations - it’s why they provide a minimum and recommended spec. There’s no reason why an Xbox pc/hybrid wouldn’t serve as a target - if anything there’s more reason as it’s fixed hardware would represent a far greater proportion of users. An Xbox running pc versions of titles wouldn’t provide the optimisation headache of having infinite hardware configurations (ram, ssd, gpu, cpu etc).
As you say, it’s all conjecture at this point. As a pc owner I’m interested to see what Xbox do, but I doubt I would replace my Nvidia machine with AMD. I’m also a minority user in that I have a high/mid range system so I’m not sure Xbox would be targeting me.
@Ainu20 not really, yes it would probably be more expensive than a traditional console, but significantly? Given the ps5 pro is $700, probably not significantly. Relative to a similar powered pc it is also more than likely to be cheaper.
In terms of optimisations, why wouldn’t devs target it if it were to be the ‘next generation Xbox’? It would have the same static hardware configuration as a conventional console and devs already optimise for the current generation of Microsoft hardware. When series x/s launched and had a comparatively tiny install base to the Xbox one, games shipped and were optimised for both generations. A console/pc hybrid does not change this precedent.
There is no naivety at play here whatsoever, if the next generation of Xbox truly is a pc/console hybrid everything I’ve stated is entirely plausible.
@Ainu20 yes, which would be the purpose of a hybrid console/pc machine. The benefits of a pc combined with those of a console. Some or all of the pc features described in my previous comment combined with some of the console’s biggest strengths - a relative cheaper point of entry and targeted optimisation.
The irony here is that were Microsoft to launch a pc/console hybrid next generation it would potentially offer a far more transformative upgrade than the ps6:
Access to steam and multiple storefronts, Ultrawide and various other resolution support m&k compatibility and access to real time strategy genre’s that typically aren’t available on console and play poorly with controller (total war franchise along with StarCraft). Also, the ability to fully customise and tweak game performance through a comprehensive set of graphical and resolution settings including FoV and motion blur settings typically not available on console.
All of these things in addition to the extra power and AI feature set that will be present on the PS6.
My ps5 is my exclusives console, everything else I play on pc. I’ll get a ps6 when Sony’s first party no longer releases on ps5, or when exclusives no longer run at a solid 60fps - whichever happens first.
I doubt that either of these will come to pass within the first year or two of the ps6’s release. I suspect ps6 versions of first party titles will just have more robust raytracing, higher native resolutions and possibly a 120fps target performance mode during the cross-generation period. As such I’m unlikely to buy one at launch.
Tried all the infamous games back when they launched and only finished infamous 2 and second son. Really not high up on my list of Sony remasters tbh, more towards the bottom.
Sony need to remaster bloodborne, jak and daxter, sly cooper, resistance and the earlier god of war titles before they begin to think about bringing back infamous. Especially with insomniac releasing a regular cadence of superhero titles on PlayStation.
@Lowdefal absolutely, Sony seem to have had the better sdk this generation which has resulted in the base ps5 outperforming the series x in all but a handful of titles. It’s also worth saying that Sony’s considerable market share means that devs probably prioritise optimisations for ps5 when constrained by budget and time.
A more powerful next generation Xbox will be more beneficial to consumers if, as rumoured, it takes the form of a console/pc hybrid AND allows full graphics settings autonomy as on pc. Consumers can then choose whether they want high frame rates, higher resolution, ray tracing, motion blur, FOV etc and prioritise what they feel is important rather than being at the mercy of what the developer wants.
I’ve bought four games to date this year - monster hunter wilds, death stranding 2, borderlands 4 and ghost of yotei. I have no plans to buy any more although I will be playing the outer worlds 2 with gamepass at some point before the end of the year.
Edit: I have also played doom, expedition 33 and avowed through gamepass and subbed for a couple of months to do so. Would I have bought any of these gamepass titles at full price were the service not to exist? Extremely unlikely.
@SeaDaVie just look at the reviews for destiny content, destiny lives and dies on player engagement. The latest expansion may have had decent pre-order numbers but the vast majority of players found it underwhelming compared to past efforts. I know a lot of people were holding on to see how it would play out, I also know a lot of people who won’t be returning for the next.
I dropped the game after the final shape launched - enjoyed the ride but was happy to have a reason to stop playing (conclusion of the light and dark saga). I’ve had absolutely no desire to engage with anything bungie have pushed out since.
Yes, the game is still making money, but at the expense of any goodwill felt by the ever dwindling player base. Player numbers might be at an all time low, but so too is player sentiment.
So what she’s saying is Microsoft have been the only company to layoff staff, close studios and raise prices within the gaming industry over the past few years…
I mean this applies to the whole industry. Closer to home, Sony closed fire walk studios and neon koi in 2024 whilst also making significant layoffs this year at Bend studios. They also cut 900 positions across geurilla, firesprite, naughty dog and insomniac during 2024. PlayStation has increased both hardware and subscription service pricing - the PS5 was cheapest the year of its release (madness).
Microsoft aren’t doing this because they have a dominant position within the market (they don’t) due to their acquisitions- they’re doing it as a reflection of the current state of the industry and because they significantly undervalued the cost of gamepass.
Did the artist in charge of this design forget to produce one and had to cobble together something during their commute to work?
“S##t, forgot to do that god of war controller! Was that due today? Yes, F**k! Kratos… hmmm… red stripe? White controller? Wait… red button text? Yeah, that’ll do.”
I expect these to be pretty expensive for what they are - I guess the battery, in-built mic and portability are their point of difference over a decent pair of stereo desktop speakers.
@revansgc you’re an early adopter, the price you pay for getting advanced first gen tech (pssr) is that there’s going to be teething issues.
It’s not being punished so much as being a minority user base within the ps5 ecosystem. First party titles are afforded the time and money to properly cater to the pro. Third party have limited time and resources and would rather spend those on the significantly larger portion of the player base.
@TravelingBob subjectively smooth, I’ll see what digital foundry say before committing to a purchase. I’m quite sensitive to frame rate drops but understand that there’s those who aren’t and therefore don’t mind a few infrequent drops during gameplay
Didn’t sega list a ton of dormant IP reboots in development under the initiative “power surge” - shinobi being the first. Wouldn’t be surprised to see one of these showcased - crazy taxi, streets of rage, golden axe and jet set radio were all teased several years ago.
Pro-consumer move would be to make the existing detachable disc-tray compatible. Normal corporate move will be to modify the existing tray just enough to force consumers to have to buy another.
And this is why performance optimisations are very often an afterthought - the average consumer will still purchase a title, even if it performs like crap.
I’ll probably pick this up next year on sale and hopefully after some patches - my pc should be able to brute force 60fps, but it should be capable of so much more. I refuse to pay full price for something that’s shipped with barely any optimisation.
@Oram77 there’s usually 6 nominee’s for goty so this could sneak in. It’s a stacked year and I personally don’t see it beating expedition 33, which is currently the highest rated game of the year (93 average review score and 9.7 user score on Metacritic).
@LifeGirl especially true if the next Xbox happens to be a pc aimed at the console market. I’ll either be building a new pc or investing in the next Xbox if it supports steam and offers sufficient improvements over my current pc.
I’ll keep my current ps5 for first party titles as long as PlayStation continue to support it. This is assuming that PlayStation don’t eventually adopt a multiplatform day-one approach like Microsoft.
It always blows my mind how one of the most widely adopted engines in the industry also happens to be one of the worst performing in the industry.
It undoubtedly has the largest number of developers using it - hence you’d imagine there’d be thousands of “experts” who specialise in unreal development.
Secondly, it has to have access to the highest R&D spend of any engine thanks to its wide usage and licensing revenue (evidenced by the frequent “unreal feature-set” videos and updates).
Either the engine is absolute trash and isn’t fit for purpose, or every dev using it is completely incompetent (something I have a hard time believing).
@Jammer my ps5 has also been placed vertically since purchase. I’m saying that the degradation of the Liquid Metal could be compounding the issue and leading to overheating as this is not being experienced by everyone.
If it hasn’t degraded you’re safe from the overheating issue, if it has, running the unlocked framerate is pushing temperatures too high for the heatsink to efficiently pull heat from the chip. Some people have reported similar issues with horizon having an unlocked frame rate in the map screen.
The fact it’s not impacting all users leads credence to the idea that it could be some kind of hardware level issue compounding the problem. In this case degradation of the thermal compound (Liquid Metal). This can be an issue on pc where users sometimes have to re-paste their CPU’s or GPU’s to navigate thermal throttling or shutdowns.
Seen a lot of people talking about overheating issues and it possibly being linked to an uncapped frame rate when looking at the map. I wonder if there’s more to it that than that? I have a day 1 ps5, which hasn’t seen a ton of use (bought for exclusives) and have about 45 hours in DS2, no shutdowns or overheating. I’ve been playing about 2-3 hour sessions most days since launch week.
I know some people were concerned about the longevity of the “Liquid Metal” used in launch systems as the medium between the SoC and heatsink. I wonder if this is contributing to the overheating issues?
My concern is that future Sony could become valve. If every title goes multiplatform does Sony need to invest as much money in making it’s own titles, especially given the high risk and huge costs of such investments. Why not let third parties take those risks and just pocket the guaranteed 30% cut on everything sold on the platform?
I hope Sony continue to invest in their studios and make the quality single player experiences they’re known for. With Microsoft out of the picture, I’m not sure I see a huge incentive for them to continue to do so, at least on the scale they have been in the past.
Just for those saying why bother with PlayStation if titles come to other platforms. I have a pc and a ps5, I played the original death stranding on pc but ended up buying the sequel on ps5 despite knowing it will come to pc at some point in the future.
If PlayStation continue to employ a time lag between exclusives coming to other platforms and those exclusives are well optimised on PlayStation I’m happy to purchase them first on console. Especially if they’re a title I want to play.
Legends 2 will be a live service spin-off that spends years in development before being cancelled after bungie review the gameplay and decide it doesn’t work as a live service title. The player-base will rightly question why it wasn’t just added to the sequel for free as with with the original rather than trying to cash-cow it as a standalone title 😔
@Americansamurai1 you’re aware that gamepass is also available on pc and for less money? I don’t think it is a case of gamepass training people not to buy games, I’m fairly confident gta6 will sell on Xbox and expedition 33 sold very well on pc.
People buy games on Xbox or Sony wouldn’t have bothered porting helldivers to the platform. I don’t know who currently buys games through the Xbox pc storefront, I’ve never, but the service still exists so enough people must. With the exception of a few crossbuy Xbox titles and the free games given by epic, the vast majority of my pc catalogue is on steam. I have nothing on gog.
Unless you’re buying through a third-party key reseller or getting something on sale, all the storefronts on pc seem to offer parity with pricing. If Xbox move to pc I expect the same to be true.
@Americansamurai1 in the same way devs still “port” their games to gog, despite the vast majority of sales coming from steam.
There will still be some people who prefer to buy their games on Microsoft’s storefront, particularly if they have an existing catalogue on that store from series x/s (Microsoft are rumoured to be working on some form of Xbox emulation in partnership with AMD).
I don’t think it would kill the Xbox storefront, as it currently operates on pc alongside gog, epic and steam. I do think it would seriously impact the revenue Microsoft currently make on Xbox though as they’d no longer monopolise the digital storefront.
@Americansamurai1 if steam is integrated into the next Xbox it means that Xbox is a pc. It will run the pc versions of games on steam. Cd projekt red did not have to make separate “ports” of cyberpunk for the gog, epic and steam storefronts - they’re essentially the same game. It’s relatively likely that third parties would treat the Xbox storefront like any other on pc - the game would be available to purchase as with steam, epic and gog. They wouldn’t have to “port” it to another storefront.
The real question is why would anyone buy a game on the Xbox storefront over steam? But that’s not what we’re discussing.
@Americansamurai1 your comment lacks understanding. If it supports steam it will get pretty much every third party title released. Unless you’re saying that devs are going to stop supporting steam - the platform with more monthly active users than both PlayStation and Xbox.
Also, ironically, an Xbox with steam integration will also have access to no rest for the wicked.
@KoopaTheGamer @JonnyMack I did read the article although my post maybe wasn’t as clear and I should have elaborated. It shouldn’t bother targeting 8k60, that extra processing power would be far better used with some form of raytracing on the balls. 4k120 is the limit for 99.9% of the player base, excess power should be put into refining the graphics. Raytracing is expensive but this seems like the perfect title to make use of it over 8k resolution. 8k60 remains pointless for this gen and all but a handful of consumers.
Should be targeting 120fps4k rather than 60fps8k. Far more people have televisions/monitors capable of 120fps than they do 8k resolution. That’s not to mention the ridiculous size of screen required to see the tangible benefit of 8k over 4k. Pointless.
@dskatter did you even bother to read the article? Or are you one of the people “calling them out” with threats to harm?
Yes, there are valid calls for improvements to performance, which capcom have accepted. There are also cases of extreme behaviour toward individuals working at capcom which are completely unacceptable and they absolutely should be calling this out.
@Rich33 So you think gamepass shutting down is going to save the industry? There will be no more studio closures? Every release will enjoy success, people will buy more games? Or will people just look to cheaper forms of entertainment as they are already doing? Gaming is also now facing more competition for our time than ever before - social media, tik-tok etc. It’s far easier to quit gaming and find other things to occupy your time than it was 10-20 years ago.
Every physical game sale has the potential to damage the industry too. Should we switch to all-digital to prevent resale of games and lost revenue/sales for publishers?
Should games be $100 as standard to help pay for poor management/bloated development costs?
The industry is struggling and whilst Gamepass might be a factor it’s far from the only thing responsible.
It’s always crazy to see people commenting on the fact that a game releasing on gamepass also happens to sell less on Xbox as if it’s a surprise. The vast majority of consumers aren’t swimming in money right now, why would they spend £70 to play a title when they can spend £15?
I’ve just paid £60 for DS2 on ps5, that feels like a lot of money even though I loved DS1. If the physical edition wasn’t available I wouldn’t have bought it. I’ll be trading my copy as soon as I’ve finished my playthrough and hoping to recoup £30 - £40 of my £60 outlay. Physical games on PlayStation allow me to justify the spend. If PS6 goes all digital and prevents game trading I’ll be done with PlayStation.
I can’t justify £70 on video games when I have other more important cost of living expenses to attend to.
@DaveTheRave Xbox are an AMD customer and have a confirmed partnership with them for future hardware. None of this technology being proprietary actually guarantees it will feature in Microsoft hardware.
In all seriousness AI upscaling should allow for 4k60 as standard next generation with AI frame gen pushing this towards 120fps. Will be interesting to see the raw power delta of ps6 compared to ps5 pro - I’ll be surprised if it’s anything more than 25% with silicon prices being what they are and moores law no longer holding true. I think both ps6 and whatever Xbox have cooking are going to use AI to do the majority of the heavy lifting vs raw compute. This should keep the machines somewhat affordable and still be able to market them as a decent upgrade over the previous generation.
This could be the first generation where the cpu is the biggest upgrade compared to the gpu in terms of power.

Re: PS6 Release Date Touted for 2027, Cheaper But Less Powerful Than Next Xbox
Re: People Don't Buy Anywhere Near As Many Games As You Think
I’ve bought four games to date this year - monster hunter wilds, death stranding 2, borderlands 4 and ghost of yotei. I have no plans to buy any more although I will be playing the outer worlds 2 with gamepass at some point before the end of the year.
Edit: I have also played doom, expedition 33 and avowed through gamepass and subbed for a couple of months to do so. Would I have bought any of these gamepass titles at full price were the service not to exist? Extremely unlikely.
Re: Sony's Acquisition of Bungie Continues to Be Questioned as Destiny 2 Falls Off a Cliff
Re: 'Told You So': Ex-FTC Chair Lina Khan Is Having the Last Laugh Over Xbox's Activision Acquisition
Re: You Can Now Pre-Order God of War's 20th Anniversary PS5 Controller
Did the artist in charge of this design forget to produce one and had to cobble together something during their commute to work?
“S##t, forgot to do that god of war controller! Was that due today? Yes, F**k! Kratos… hmmm… red stripe? White controller? Wait… red button text? Yeah, that’ll do.”
Re: Sony Adds Official Desktop Speakers to Its Increasingly Enormous Product Family
I expect these to be pretty expensive for what they are - I guess the battery, in-built mic and portability are their point of difference over a decent pair of stereo desktop speakers.
Re: Silent Hill F Is Another Game That Stumbles on PS5 Pro
@revansgc you’re an early adopter, the price you pay for getting advanced first gen tech (pssr) is that there’s going to be teething issues.
It’s not being punished so much as being a minority user base within the ps5 ecosystem. First party titles are afforded the time and money to properly cater to the pro. Third party have limited time and resources and would rather spend those on the significantly larger portion of the player base.
Re: Round Up: Borderlands 4 Reviews All on PC, No PS5 Verdicts Anywhere
@TravelingBob subjectively smooth, I’ll see what digital foundry say before committing to a purchase. I’m quite sensitive to frame rate drops but understand that there’s those who aren’t and therefore don’t mind a few infrequent drops during gameplay
Re: SEGA to Demo Four Mysterious Titles at Tokyo Game Show This Month
Didn’t sega list a ton of dormant IP reboots in development under the initiative “power surge” - shinobi being the first. Wouldn’t be surprised to see one of these showcased - crazy taxi, streets of rage, golden axe and jet set radio were all teased several years ago.
Re: Rumour: PS6 Will Have a Detachable Disc Drive, Much Simpler Design
Pro-consumer move would be to make the existing detachable disc-tray compatible. Normal corporate move will be to modify the existing tray just enough to force consumers to have to buy another.
Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta Sneaks Past the One Million Sales Milestone in First 24 Hours
Re: Ghost of Yotei Focuses on Firearms in Latest PS5 Gameplay Video
@Oram77 there’s usually 6 nominee’s for goty so this could sneak in. It’s a stacked year and I personally don’t see it beating expedition 33, which is currently the highest rated game of the year (93 average review score and 9.7 user score on Metacritic).
Re: Jul 2025 USA Sales: PS5 Hardware Tumbles 47% Year-Over-Year in Tough Month
I suspect sales will increase again during the month gta6 releases. Will be interesting to see the magnitude of the increase though.
Re: 'There's No Real Need for a PS6': Industry Veteran Weighs in on Next-Gen Debate
Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta's Dismal PS5 Pro Support Could Use a Rethink
Re: Simple Death Stranding 2 PS5 Patch 1.08 Fixes Camera Issues
Re: Simple Death Stranding 2 PS5 Patch 1.08 Fixes Camera Issues
Re: Eye-Opening PS5 Sales Data Reveals Why Microsoft Is Porting Xbox Games
My concern is that future Sony could become valve. If every title goes multiplatform does Sony need to invest as much money in making it’s own titles, especially given the high risk and huge costs of such investments. Why not let third parties take those risks and just pocket the guaranteed 30% cut on everything sold on the platform?
I hope Sony continue to invest in their studios and make the quality single player experiences they’re known for. With Microsoft out of the picture, I’m not sure I see a huge incentive for them to continue to do so, at least on the scale they have been in the past.
Re: Sony Job Listing Implies More PS5 Exclusives Will Be Ported to Xbox, Nintendo
Re: Ghost of Yotei Dev Dodges Question About Multiplayer Legends Mode, Is All in on Single Player
Re: 'PS5 Makes the Most Sense': Ori Dev Explains Why It's Swapping Xbox for Sony
Re: 'PS5 Makes the Most Sense': Ori Dev Explains Why It's Swapping Xbox for Sony
Re: 'PS5 Makes the Most Sense': Ori Dev Explains Why It's Swapping Xbox for Sony
Re: 'PS5 Makes the Most Sense': Ori Dev Explains Why It's Swapping Xbox for Sony
@lazarus11 always a good idea to read replies before writing one of your own, that way you don’t end up looking stupid 😉👍
My response was to the post that stated if the next Xbox supports steam it wouldn’t get many third party or indie ports.
Re: 'PS5 Makes the Most Sense': Ori Dev Explains Why It's Swapping Xbox for Sony
Re: PS5 Pro Pockets a Native 8K, 60fps Game
@KoopaTheGamer @JonnyMack I did read the article although my post maybe wasn’t as clear and I should have elaborated. It shouldn’t bother targeting 8k60, that extra processing power would be far better used with some form of raytracing on the balls. 4k120 is the limit for 99.9% of the player base, excess power should be put into refining the graphics. Raytracing is expensive but this seems like the perfect title to make use of it over 8k resolution. 8k60 remains pointless for this gen and all but a handful of consumers.
Re: PS5 Pro Pockets a Native 8K, 60fps Game
Should be targeting 120fps4k rather than 60fps8k. Far more people have televisions/monitors capable of 120fps than they do 8k resolution. That’s not to mention the ridiculous size of screen required to see the tangible benefit of 8k over 4k. Pointless.
Re: Capcom Nixes Tone Deaf Conference on Monster Hunter Wilds Optimisation
@dskatter did you even bother to read the article? Or are you one of the people “calling them out” with threats to harm?
Yes, there are valid calls for improvements to performance, which capcom have accepted. There are also cases of extreme behaviour toward individuals working at capcom which are completely unacceptable and they absolutely should be calling this out.
Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Weigh in on Crippling Xbox Game Pass Impact
Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Weigh in on Crippling Xbox Game Pass Impact
Re: 'This Is About Moving the Industry Forward': PlayStation and AMD's Partnership Will Benefit All Gamers
@DaveTheRave Xbox are an AMD customer and have a confirmed partnership with them for future hardware. None of this technology being proprietary actually guarantees it will feature in Microsoft hardware.
Re: PS6 to 'Push the Boundaries' of Graphics, Doubles Down on Machine Learning
Fake frames and AI generated pixels for all!
