Prior to the arrival of Forza Horizon on Playstation, a game like this would have definitely caught my attention.

However since Forza is soooo good, it would take something truly special to make me look elsewhere now as far as open world racers go.

Just my opinion... no hate please

I agree to an extent and it definitely works with certain games but I could never imagine playing a 3D Mario game on anything other than a Nintendo console

I owned 2 x PS3 consoles (because the first one broke and it was replaced under my extended warranty).

I have to say it's definitely my least favourite Sony Console... not that there was anything bad about it, it's just the one I had the least amount of fun with

The fact that in 2025 (more or less 5 years after the PS5 launch) we're still seeing games released on PS4 tells me that nobody really "Needs" a PS6 any time soon

I guarantee that somebody out there somewhere will be saying that this is a crap selection of games

I've always bought the newest Consoles to be able to play the new exclusive games.

This Gen in particular those "Exclusive" games haven't really materialised barring the odd exception.

With the exception of Astro Bot, off the top of my head I'm almost certain everything else I've wanted to play has also been available for PS4.

I will pick up a PS6 at some point but the days of me being a day one adopter and doing everything I can to secure a pre order are long gone

If true I'll be very pleased with that, always wanted to try Silent Hill 2

I think if you happen to be new to the Xbox Eco system then initially it is a great deal.... On paper.

But as time goes on and once you've played the majority of the games on the service that you want to try, all of a sudden those monthly fees start to feel unnecessarily expensive and if you're only paying it to play the latest COD release (or insert favourite game here) then it's much cheaper to just buy the game and have done with it.

Game pass ultimate is now effectively $360 per year ...... in 3 years you'll have spent over $1000.

In theory it's a great service for the day one releases but there's also an awful lot of shovel ware on there to pad out the service.

For balance the Shovel ware argument can also be directed at PS Plus extra / Premium too.

Also I'd just like to add that I don't think it's about people wanting things for free, small annual increases are pretty much to be expected and as long as they are sensible increases people will generally accept them....... this particular set of increases are as far away from sensible as you can get.

However many subscribers they had to Game pass ultimate, I can guarantee they'll be getting a lot less moving forward now that they've essentially doubled the price.

A couple of ££ / $$ a year increase people will just about accept (reluctantly of course)

But to almost double the price in one hit is just plain stupidity.

They should have done it about 4 years ago to be fair

I'd swear Xbox have just given up at this point.

They're products aren't selling so what do they do? Offer a discount? Nope they increase their prices lol

Now with this increase to Game Pass it's almost like they want to fail

Can anyone advise if it's best to play the original Alan Wake first or will I be ok diving straight in to this one.

I always assume it kinda like a film where you wouldn't normally watch the sequel with watching the first one

Definitely interested in a set of those Pulse Speakers for my games room

I won't lie, prior to the official announcement I was semi interested in getting one, if for nothing else just to get more internal storage.

At the time I was expecting it to be maybe £50 - £100 more expensive than the base model (in the same way that the PS4 Pro was to the standard PS4).

As soon as they told us the price any passing interest I did have ended right there.

The sad thing is that the more I read about the product, the happier I am that I didn't treat myself to one

Remember guys.... go into it expecting the worst and hoping for the best...

that way you can't be too disappointed when it finishes

Played it back in the day when I used to own an Xbox, it's was fun to start with but once I'd found my house I got bored of it and uninstalled

As others have suggested it was a fun game at first but once the novelty wears off it loses it appeal

I remember buying one with my Birthday money in June 1996

I mainly remember the year because it was when the Euro 96 football tournament was on.

I bought Destruction Derby with it and and Adidas Power Soccer.

I also got hours and hours of fun from the Demo disc that came inside the box

I'm not massively into hand held gaming but the beauty of my Switch (1&2) is that regardless of how I chose to play it , I only need the one device to play how I wish (admittedly probably 90% of the time in docked mode)

If I need to have a PS6 and then a separate device to play in hand held that's pretty much an instant turn off to me.

Those are just my personal views, maybe if I was more into hand held gaming I'd feel slightly differently.

I appreciate that the article suggests this device will work in the same way as a switch but it does also refer to it as a companion device suggesting that a PS6 is still required

As others have already suggested I'm starting to think maybe it isn't an error (or cock up) and it just genuinely has been given away for free in certain regions.

I've claimed it and downloaded it to console via the PS app but have yet to actually play it (at the time of typing..... 15:54pm BST)

The fact that certain games are still being released on PS4 and Xbox One tells you everything you need to know.

I'm normally always a day one adopter for new hardware (When it comes to Sony and Nintendo at least).

If there's one thing I learned from the PS5 launch is that there's absolutely no rush to dash out and buy a PS6 because I'll still be able to play everything on my PS5 for at least another 2- 3 years after launch

I hear what you're saying but it still doesn't sit right with me if I'm honest.

I think a lot of it comes down to greed and they're putting prices up.... not because they have to but because they know they can get away with it and people will still pay it.

I'm just in a fortunate position where it doesn't effect me as such (unless my PS5 or Switch 2 break and I need to purchase a new ones of course)

99 times out of 100 I am usually a day one adopter of new consoles, this generation in particular it's turned out to be a very wise move

I'm sorry but these increases are absolute madness IMO

The maddest one of all is Nintendo deciding to hike up the price of their 8 year old OG Switch.

I'll say it again..... it's absolute madness...... stop the world please..... I want to get off

This doesn't matter to me for 2 reasons.

1. I'm 43 years old
2. I have no intention of playing the game online

I skipped FC25 and instead opted to pick up Pro Evolution 2021 with an updated squads and kits USB.

The year away has done me good so looking forward to this year's installment

PGR3 on Xbox 360 was absolute fire

I still remember the "Her magistys pleasure" track around London like the back of my hand

Shame, I was hoping Motorsport would eventually get ported along with Forza Horizon. (although I suppose technically it still could)

Don't get me wrong I love Gran Turismo but you can never have too many good Racing games

I was only thinking about this last night, I downloaded it when it was first available and as a big Liverpool fan it's still my Avatar to this day.

I never met him but it really has broken me, still doesn't feel real to be honest

If there's one thing I learned from getting a day one PS5, it's that there's no rush whatsoever to buy a PS6.

PS5 is coming up to 5 years old and in many cases we're still seeing games released as cross gen on the PS4 (although admittedly it is finally starting to get better)

It's basically a service that I'll continually moan about being too expensive and complain about the poor quality of games each month but then I'll still renew it every year for fear of missing out on something

I haven't received any discount code, but even if I suddenly do I think I have everything I need for now anyway

Looks like another Month of Nintendo Switch 2 gaming coming up for me.

Not a bad month per say, just nothing of interest to me.

I lost interest in Diablo 4: as soon as the letters RPG appeared (I hate RPG games)

I'll probably add King of Fighters to my library but won't be in any particular rush to download it and fire it up

I did own the original PSVR but playing it made me feel so ill with most games that I ended up selling it whilst it was still worth something.

That experience obviously put me off the PSVR2 headset but then when they announced the ridiculously high price, any small slither of interest I did have in it ended right there.

With the benefit of hindsight it seems I dodged a bullet and even now a good few years after it released there's probably no more than 2 - 3 games available that might tickle my interest

I'm the same, I'll almost certainly be picking up Tony Hawks Pro skater 3+4 and FC26 on my Switch 2

Previously I'd have bought them on PS5 without giving it a 2nd thought

In my house they're not rivals..... more companions

I picked this up when it first released.

I'd never played the original so maybe it's because I don't have any nostalgic ties to it but for whatever reason I just can't get into it.

Strange as I do love a good Kart Racer

I normally try to be positive over the monthly games but even I'm struggling to find something positive to say about this particular section.

Fortunately though I'm having too much fun with my Nintendo switch 2 to really care about it
