If we're being honest (all fanboism aside) the PS5 & the Series X are both very similar products...

It's a bit like comparing Sky TV to Virgin..... you can pretty much watch all the same channels, it's just that the operating system is slightly different and if you're used to one in particular the other may seem a little weird and difficult to navigate simply because your brain is used to the way the other one works.

At the end of the day though, for most people it comes down to which set of "Exclusive" games you prefer.

But if Microsoft intend to release all (or at least the majority) of their games on Playstation then it virtually removes the need for anyone to buy an Xbox... Just get a playstation and you effectively get the best of both worlds

I wish he'd just stop tip toeing around the subject and just tell us which games they plan to port.

To be fair I'm only really interested in the Forza games but this constant game of will they won't they is getting tiring

I'd be happy with that if I'm honest, I haven't played the first 2 FH games so can't comment on them but out of 3, 4 & 5 I genuinely liked them all...... 4 was my favourite but that could be partly because I'm from the UK.

Long story short I'd still be happy with FH5 as there's nothing else on PS that come close to it.

The Crew Motorfest is probably the closest but just doesn't quite hit the same as the FH games.

You may have worked out from my comment that I did used to own an Xbox.... I sold it because I just didn't use it..... that might have changed if I'd waited till Forza Motorsport released but I didn't feel it was worth keeping just for one game alone lol

Personally I couldn't give a monkeys about Starfield.

Please just port the Forza games over and I'll be happy

I'm currently on Extra which also expires on 31st January.

There is an offer there for me, I can upgrade to premium for the remainder of my subscription meaning I can having it for 27p instead of 43p for the 8 days I have left.

It doesn't give me an option for any discount beyond when my current one expires.

If I could renew right now for year at 35% off Premium then I'd definitely be interested

Depends what you mean by compete.

If a family can only afford one console for their child then yes they are both competing for sales.

As a graphical power house then no it probably won't compete.

Majority of people will probably have a Switch 2 and a PS5 (or an Xbox)

My PS Extra subscription expires on 31st January

Nothing on there particularly to my taste so happy to let it lapse for now

I've always found black consoles and accessories to look rather boring.

Just my personal opinion but I think they look much more striking in white

It would have been interesting to see how much that 82% ps sales figure might have changed if Xbox didn't put it on Game Pass, meaning they have to buy a copy (be it digital or physical)

I'm sure it would have still sold more on Playstation due to the much bigger install base but still would have made a better comparison

I think in an ideal world Sony would like it to be all digital but in reality they would have a riot on their hands if they actually tried to go down that route.

Don't get me wrong, eventually gaming will end up that way but I think the PS6 may be a little too soon to get away with it.

If it doesn't have a built-in disc drive option it will 100% have a drive that can be added on for those that want one (in my opinion)

I mostly put it in rest mode as it will still allow my controller to charge.

It does however depend on what game I'm playing, if I'm playing something that's connected to a server (IE black ops 6), the game will have timed out when you fire it back up so in that situation I'd probably just completely power it down.

If its a game where I can literally pick up and carry on from where I left it then it's rest mode all the way

I hope they buck their ideas up before the PS6 launches (on the assumption that it also will require a separate disc drive)

PS3 is my least favourite Playstation console so I don't have any particular investment in it

I just bought Black Ops 6 physical for £44.99 from Amazon , I'd be surprised if it's as low as that

I'm probably 50/50 when it comes to video games between physical and digital.

DVD's however..... honestly can't remember the last time I bought one outside of something really obscure that's only available on DVD

Initially I was really excited for this game but after reading the terrible reviews I decided to skip it altogether..

In the meantime I'm patiently waiting for the day when (or rather if) Microsoft decide to port Forza Horizon over.

Not quite the same thing but I have to say sometimes for myself the excitement of getting a new game and the general build up is quite often a better feeling than actually playing the game.

I believe there is some sort of loop hole where you can create another PSN account with a different email address but honestly, I just don't have time for all that.

It's inexcusable that I can't just delete my progress from both my console and the cloud and simply start again

Absolutely crazy decision to make it like that... I don't recall ever having the same issue with any other games.

Very annoying (with the main game) that I can't delete my progress and start the game again from scratch.

I played it alot when I first got it but then haven't touched it for a few years, i attempted to play it again recently but it was hard to get upto speed and remember where I was up to so ideally just wanted to start again from the beginning.

So frustrating that it's impossible to do this

I can't believe the original GTA and GTA London haven't made the cut

My best friend was always into Tomb Raider and id often watch him play it... I personally just couldn't take to it though for whatever reason

I'm not so sure myself I'd want one.

I always have romantic ideas of playing handheld games, it gives me a nice warm nostalgic feeling, but in reality I just never actually play them.

As a Nintendo switch owner I'd have to say my Switch has spent 95% of it's life in it's dock and been used as a home console.

The other 5% will have been when I've took it away on holiday to play on the plane

It's the best 3D platformer that wasn't made by Nintendo that I've ever had the pleasure to play

I might add It Takes Two into my library in case I ever get the desire to play it again one day.

I'll always remember the PS1 as being the first console I bought with my own money. Well kind of, I'd collected all my birthday money and went and bought it myself if that counts.

It was summer of 1996 and I was 14 at the time so not quite old enough to "earn" my own money.

The reason I remember that it was 1996 was because I remember buying it during the Euro 96 Football tournament.

The 2 games I bought to go with it were Adidas Power Soccer and Ridge Racer Revolution.

I played those games for hours and hours and also got a surprising amount of milage out of the Demo disc that came with the console, it had Destruction Derby, wipe out and Jumping Flash to name a few (all of which I eventually went on to purchase as full games)

Sounds like Sony have gone all Nintendo with this one

Maybe it's just my general love for Mario games but I'd still argue that Super Mario Odyssey is the better game.

That's not taking anything away from Astro Bot as they're both 10 out of 10's in my opinion, but if I had to erase one from existence and could only keep one I'd definitely have to keep Mario Odyssey

Thankfully I'm speaking hypothetically and in reality should never have to make such a decision 🤣🤣

It was a great game, I still dig out my old PS1 copy from time to time.

I know we have Wreckfest as a kind of modern equivalent but I genuinely do still prefer DD. Wreckfest just isn't quite the same.

Destruction Derby 2 would Also be nice

The sceptic in me believes theyve done it deliberately trying to steer people down the all digital route.

In reality they've probably just dramatically underestimated how many people still want to buy physical discs
