Very annoying (with the main game) that I can't delete my progress and start the game again from scratch.
I played it alot when I first got it but then haven't touched it for a few years, i attempted to play it again recently but it was hard to get upto speed and remember where I was up to so ideally just wanted to start again from the beginning.
I'll always remember the PS1 as being the first console I bought with my own money. Well kind of, I'd collected all my birthday money and went and bought it myself if that counts.
It was summer of 1996 and I was 14 at the time so not quite old enough to "earn" my own money.
The reason I remember that it was 1996 was because I remember buying it during the Euro 96 Football tournament.
The 2 games I bought to go with it were Adidas Power Soccer and Ridge Racer Revolution.
I played those games for hours and hours and also got a surprising amount of milage out of the Demo disc that came with the console, it had Destruction Derby, wipe out and Jumping Flash to name a few (all of which I eventually went on to purchase as full games)
Maybe it's just my general love for Mario games but I'd still argue that Super Mario Odyssey is the better game.
That's not taking anything away from Astro Bot as they're both 10 out of 10's in my opinion, but if I had to erase one from existence and could only keep one I'd definitely have to keep Mario Odyssey
Thankfully I'm speaking hypothetically and in reality should never have to make such a decision 🤣🤣
I'm a big fan of both Nintendo and Sony so have no particular bias one way or the other, but this does seem a rather odd and convenient time to suddenly shift the goal posts lol
I haven't bought one and the more of these articles I read, the more satisfied I feel that I didn't.
I could technically afford one if I really wanted one, but it just doesn't do enough to justify dropping 700 big ones on it (actually 800 because I would need a disc drive)
I'm not a massive fan of Lego games in general, but the few that I have played I've always found to look extremely polished and shiny as they are (even on the Switch)
I guess what I'm saying is that some games that aren't going for that ultra realistic look don't always need Pro support
Seriously though, If you play this game and don't find at least some form of enjoyment from it (particularly if you're a fan of Playstation in general), then I'm sorry but there must be something wrong with you lol.
It's an absolute masterpiece and has so many little nods of PS history in it that it just can't fail to make you smile.
The more of these articles I read the more I'm glad I haven't bought one.
No disrespect intended to anyone who wants one or has bought one, I'm sure it's a fantastic bit of kit in it's own right but for me personally it would have been a completely unnecessary purchase
That's my fear as well... After previously buying a PS4 Pro id already decided very early on that I was probably never going to buy a PS5 Pro (this was long before it was officially announced and we knew the price)
But it really does worry me that if enough people actually buy this it will make Sony think they can get away with these prices or even higher for the PS6.
Obviously I want Sony to do well but a small part of me secretly hopes that this thing bombs so that they get a wake up call.
Before anyone tags me in a comment, yes I know it's an enthusiasts model and not aimed for the masses..... yadda yadda yadda etc
Reading between the lines they pretty much all say that if you've got enough disposable income and want the very best that Sony has to offer then by all means treat yourself, if your slightly on the fence however and put off by the price, save your money as it isn't a massive leap over the base PS5
I always take stuff like this with a pinch of salt.... just because someone is trying their luck in selling it at that price doesn't mean anyone will actually buy it.... at least I would hope not anyway

So frustrating that it's impossible to do this
Re: Best PS1 Games
I can't believe the original GTA and GTA London haven't made the cut
Re: Feature: Robert's PS1 Memories
My best friend was always into Tomb Raider and id often watch him play it... I personally just couldn't take to it though for whatever reason
Re: New PlayStation Handheld Looking Even More Likely as Digital Foundry Backs Up Reports
I'm not so sure myself I'd want one.
I always have romantic ideas of playing handheld games, it gives me a nice warm nostalgic feeling, but in reality I just never actually play them.
As a Nintendo switch owner I'd have to say my Switch has spent 95% of it's life in it's dock and been used as a home console.
The other 5% will have been when I've took it away on holiday to play on the plane
Re: PS Blog Wants to Know Your 2024 Game of the Year on PS5, PS4
Astro Bot without any shadow of doubt.
It's the best 3D platformer that wasn't made by Nintendo that I've ever had the pleasure to play
Re: 3 More PS Plus Essential Games Yours to Download Now
I might add It Takes Two into my library in case I ever get the desire to play it again one day.
I have zero interest in the other 2 games though unfortunately

Sounds like Sony have gone all Nintendo with this one

Yeah I assumed that may have been the reason, thank you for the explanation and taking my feedback onboard 🙂

Re: More PS Plus Extra, Premium News to Come for December as 30th Anniversary Approaches
@themightyant
It was a great game, I still dig out my old PS1 copy from time to time.
I know we have Wreckfest as a kind of modern equivalent but I genuinely do still prefer DD. Wreckfest just isn't quite the same.
Destruction Derby 2 would Also be nice
Re: PS5 Disc Drive Stock Still a Source of Intense Irritation for Many
The sceptic in me believes theyve done it deliberately trying to steer people down the all digital route.
In reality they've probably just dramatically underestimated how many people still want to buy physical discs
Re: More PS Plus Extra, Premium News to Come for December as 30th Anniversary Approaches
Destruction Derby
Re: Rumour: Forza Horizon 5 Is Ready to Roll on PS5, But Release Has Been Delayed

I was referring to the PSRV2 support in fairness

@JustCameHereToSay
Xbox fans would riot if that happened...... all 3 of them
Re: Rumour: Forza Horizon 5 Is Ready to Roll on PS5, But Release Has Been Delayed
Typical..... the one Xbox game I actually want to get ported as well
Re: PS5 Fans Willing to Pay a Pretty Penny for a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation

Canadian $$$ are like Monopoly money so I can see exactly where you're coming from 🤣
Re: PS5 Fans Willing to Pay a Pretty Penny for a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation
@UltimateOtaku91 @Jrs1
Yes very bizarre, especially when you consider that the author of the post is also from the UK
@Quintumply care to explain???
Re: PS5 Fans Willing to Pay a Pretty Penny for a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation
I'm still campaigning for the prices to be given to us in £££ as well as $$$ seeing as this is a UK based website
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for December 2024 Announced
Nothing of interest for me this month.
However one man's trash is another man's treasure
Re: Rumour: Black PS Portal Part of New PS5 Accessories Refresh
Managed to get one last year when they launched but I sold it as my wi-fi wasn't strong enough for it.
On topic though, I very much prefer it in white

Re: As the Switch Closes in, Sony Confirms PS2 Sold 160 Million Units
@father_noo
I guess the more appropriate question would be ..... Would you actually want to play 1, 2 Switch on a Switch lite.
It's a terrible game even on a standard Switch.
Nothing more than a tech demo for the Joy-Cons
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think of the PS5 Pro, Three Weeks Later?
I haven't bought one and the more of these articles I read, the more satisfied I feel that I didn't.

Re: 74% of PS5 Fans Would Be Interested in a Handheld
@Haruki_NLI
In fairness I was mostly just joking .
Still it would be nice if a UK based website such as this one would use their local currency as standard practice.
If they want to add $$$ & €€€ prices as well I've no problem with that but there's no excuse not to use Pound sterling prices from the start
Re: 74% of PS5 Fans Would Be Interested in a Handheld
Sorry but this is a British website and I'm not American so on principle I'm refusing to answer the poll which is in $$$ rather than £££
Re: 13 PS5, PS4 Games Set to Leave PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Month
I've never played any of these games and have no desire too either.
This happens every month when I read the list of games that are leaving. There's never any games on there that I'm particularly interested in.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm basically subscribing to PS Plus extra so that my wife can play Uno 🤣.
I think next year I'll just buy Uno for her instead lol
Re: Disgruntled PS5 Pro Owners Campaign to Disable Support After Slew of Shoddy Patches
Id prefer not to have too many options.
One of the main reasons I've intentionally avoided PC gaming is because I love the "plug in an play" aspect of owning a Console.
I'm by no means a technophob but PC gaming scares the life out of me
Re: LEGO Horizon Adventures Sets Odd Precedent, Lacking PS5 Pro Support

Re: 17 Games Land on PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
It's starting to feel like we've reached a point where they're just recycling the same games in and out again.
Definitely seen a good few of these before
Some quality titles but would prefer having something new to play
Re: PS5 Slim Price Drop Confirmed, $380 Until 24th December
Although it has a little bit of extra storage, the lack of a built in disc drive would make it more of a downgrade rather than an upgrade for me
Re: Astro Bot Sells 1.5 Million PS5 Copies Inside Nine Weeks
@Fattywhale
Argh I see what's happened here.
You've read my comment which was intended as a light hearted joke and taken it way toooooo literally.
Lighten up a bit and don't take everything so serious bro
Re: PS Store Makes Launch Day Easy with Dedicated PS5 Pro Category
@spoonard
I've had similar experiences myself. Not with a PS5 Pro but I once went out to buy myself a USB desk fan and came home with a new Car 🤣
Or better still I did once go out shopping for a new car and came back with a puppy
Re: Astro Bot Sells 1.5 Million PS5 Copies Inside Nine Weeks
Wonderful game.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
@rjejr
hahaha it was never in doubt 😂
Re: This Time Next Year, You Could Be Playing GTA 6 on Your PS5
It's been a good long while since I took a day off work to play a new game.
When this game releases it will definitely be one of those occasions
Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?
There should be another voting option along the lines of.
"No but I had a passing interested in getting one until they revealed the price"
I would 100% fall into that category as I'm sure many others would
Re: Out Today: PS5 Pro, the Most Powerful Console Ever
I haven't ordered one.
I might just colour on some black stripes down the side of my base model to make it look like a Pro
Re: PS5 Pro Does a 'Much Better Job' of Enhancing Games Than PS4 Pro Did, Says Tech Experts

Followed by a poll
"Did you buy a PS5 Pro" 🤣

@symmetrian
Id expect nothing less..... in fairness I was just joking
Re: PS5 Pro Does a 'Much Better Job' of Enhancing Games Than PS4 Pro Did, Says Tech Experts
@rjejr
I'll bet there will be at least 10 more tomorrow on launch day 😂
Re: Early Tests Reveal How PS5 Pro Improves Your Old PS4 Games
The more of these articles I read the more I'm glad I haven't bought one.
No disrespect intended to anyone who wants one or has bought one, I'm sure it's a fantastic bit of kit in it's own right but for me personally it would have been a completely unnecessary purchase
Re: PS5 Pro Actually Gives You Almost All Its 2TB of Storage to use
Finally a worthy selling point
Re: Round Up: PS5 Pro Reviews Love New Tech and a Glimpse of PS6 Potential
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
Id be happy with anything between £500 - £600 myself.
I'll sit in the middle and guess at a launch price of £550 (if your theory turns out to be correct of course)
Re: Round Up: PS5 Pro Reviews Love New Tech and a Glimpse of PS6 Potential
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
Only time will tell when the PS6 eventually comes but I hope to god that you're right.

Re: PS Plus Essential Provides 3 PS5, PS4 Games to Download Now
Good month for me just for Hot Wheels, really enjoyed the 1st one so looking forward to trying this.
Will add the others to my library as I always do, but in all honesty will probably never play them lol
To be fair though as long as I get at least 1 game per month that I'm genuinely interested in, the subscription is still worth it in my opinion
