It's an absolute masterpiece, I recently started to play through it again from scratch and I'd forgotten just how good it is.

If this new Astro Bot game is even half as good we're in for a treat

I just can't get my head around why it would make someone flat out refuse to play a game just because it doesn't have trophies.

If it doesn't, just play the game anyway and enjoy yourself, life's too short to get upset over something so simple. (I'm not specifically accusing you of being upset, it's just a figure of speech)

Some of my favourite games of this generation have actually been on the Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Odyssey as a prime example.

On that game there's not a trophy in sight but it hasn't impacted my enjoyment of the game in any way shape or form.

Could it be argued that having trophies to collect might make it better? Quite possibly. But why anyone would refuse to play it (or any other game) because it doesn't have a trophy collection it completely beyond me

I agree that they should be in all games in this day and age, and as I said in my first post they're a cool little addition, but would it stop me playing a game because it doesn't have them???? Absolutely not.

I just don't understand why someone would prioritise a meaningless trophy count over their actual enjoyment of a game

Yeah I get that, but is it really a reason to refuse to play a game?... refusing to play a game that you like would be the weird thing.

Trophies are a cool addition to any game but anyone who refuses to play a game simply because it doesn't have trophies to collect, need to have a serious word with themselves

I agree with you both that FH4 is better than 5, but I think it's highly unlikely we'll see that on PS as Microsoft are delisting the game from sale altogether in December 2024 due to licensing issues.

If we do get a Forza horizon game it will almost certainly be number 5

Why buy a PS5 when still in 2024 I can play the soon to be released COD and FIFA on a PS4.

Unfortunately you've hit the nail right on the head. As a day one PS5 adopter it makes my blood boil that we are still seeing Cross gen releases.

I could just about accept it in the first 6 month launch period but we're now 4 years down the line and it should not be happening anymore.

Make all new games Current Gen exclusive and give people a reason to upgrade their consoles.

I've grown up owning every Sony and Nintendo console and this Cross Gen nonsense was never a thing until recently.

You buy the latest console to give you the privilege of playing the latest games.

As much as I love my PS5 I just feel completely cheated this generation

Are you seriously telling me that you've never, booked a holiday, ate at a restaurant or bought an expensive item (just a few examples) without first reading a couple of reviews to get other opinions on whether it's worth your hard earned cash??

If you haven't then fair play to you for living life on the edge lol

But reviews done properly and not by trolls can be extremely helpful to many people, certainly doesn't mean there something wrong with them for wanting another persons opinion before committing themselves and potentially wasting their money

I'm fine with it as long as it somehow only allows people to leave a review if they can prove that they've actually purchased and played the game.

There are far too many fake reviews out there as it is from trolls.

As long as the reviews are from people who have genuinely played the game then I honestly don't mind and will value their opinion (good or bad)

Personally I think the price is fine as it is.

Perhaps stop releasing games as cross gen and make them PS5 exclusive, which in turn will then give people an actual reason to upgrade their consoles.

It's getting better but I honestly can't believe cross gen games are still a thing almost 4 years into the lifecycle of the PS5

They have definitely stopped for me (or at least they had, I haven't added this month's free games to my library yet so not in a position to confirm if they've started again)

In the last year or so the only time I've had a "thank you for your purchase email" was when I've actually bought something.... ie money changing hands......

Haven't had an email for claiming a free PS plus game in a long long time so definitely not fake news

Still more than I'd personally want to pay for one but I believe this is the price it should have originally launched at to give it a fighting chance of survival

Looks amazing but unfortunately I already have 2 Controllers and have no need for a 3rd one.

It's still £150 more than I'd be willing to pay for it

*How to delete game files on a PS5
When you delete a PS5 game, the data associated with it is saved in case you want to reinstall the game in future. But, if you definitely don’t want to play the game again, you can delete the game file, and free up some extra space, as follows:

Go to the home screen.
Select ‘Settings’.
Select ‘Saved Data and Game/App Settings’.
Choose ‘Saved Data (PS5)’
Select ‘Console Storage’.
Click on ‘Delete’.
Choose the files you want to delete.
Hit ‘Delete’.
Press ‘OK’ to confirm.*

I was expecting a 2024 release but I think if we still haven't heard anything official by the end of September then I don't think it will happen (this year)

Based on your preview yesterday, I'm going to skip this one, I was already considering skipping it anyway.

I may pick it up a few months down the line when / if it's on sale for half the RRP

Or better still if it's given away on PS plus again later in the year

Historically I've always tended to alternate between buying FIFA one year then Pro Evolution the other, that way it at least felt like I was getting a different game each time.

Obviously Konami have ruined that method for me haha.

I'm hoping the rumoured new 2K football game turns out to be real then at least I've got some options again

Having bought the last 4 versions (FIFA 21, 22, 23 and EA Sports FC 24) I might sit this one out.

As much as I enjoy them, I don't feel there's enough of an upgrade year on year for me to justify spending another £70 on it.

I'm thinking if I skip a year then I may notice a bit more of a difference for the 2026 version.

Oh who am I kidding, I know I'll end up buying it it!!!

I'll add them to my library but I probably won't play them.

As I said when they were announced they're not to my personal taste but at least its 3 games that I've actually heard of for a change

It's actually already out for the Switch just incase you didn't already know.

I picked it up a couple of weeks back. At first I didn't really like it, it took me a good 8-10 games to get the hang of it.

I think I lost every single game and had at least 2 men off each time but I preserved and then eventually something just clicked.

I absolutely love it and can't put it down, the matches are very short so it's definitely got that "go on then just one more game" feel to it.

Camera number 5 is the one you want for the perfect Birdseye view ala Sensible Soccer

It's all about Astro Bot for me and probably Test Drive Unlimited

Oh and you missed Sociable Soccer 24 off the list (releasing in September I believe)

Not to my personal taste but 3 fairly well known decent games none the less

I'll be honest, after being 100% physical and completely against digital games I'd say I'm 60% converted.

I just love the convenience of not having to get up and change discs.

It's mainly the pricing I have issues with, not all the time but more often than not physical games are cheaper than digital and I think it should be the other way around seeing as you don't get a box or any packaging... that saving of not having to provide a disc and packaging should be passed on to the consumer

Thinking about it, that was why I ended up switching too, my 360 had 2 x ring of death incidents. Fortunately it was under warranty and replaced with a new console each time but after the 2nd one I lost confidence in it.

I ended up selling it whilst it was still under it warranty and putting the money towards a PS3.

I remember at the time not liking it as much, the online chat features and match making with friends wasn't a patch on the 360.

However it still works to this day so it served it's purpose I guess

I've had the pleasure of owning every Playstation so far but for whatever reason, PS3 was my least favourite.

I actually preferred my Xbox 360

When you try to sell what is basically an accessory, for more than the cost of the console it was made for, you're asking for trouble.

PS4 game releases should have ended 6 months maximum after the PS5 was released, PS5 is now almost 4 years old so it's about time the PS4 went into a well earned retirement

Obviously the PS4 is powerful enough to handle it but it's really time to move on

I'll say the same thing I always say whenever there's one of these articles posted.

The only games I'm interested in seeing come over are the Forza / Forza horizon games

The rest simply don't interest me in the slightest.

Which is probably why I own a PS5 and not a Series X
