For me it’s a no brainer. I waited and gave Microsoft another chance after selling my Xbox one x only after 1 month to see if they will impress. In fact it did the complete opposite. Major disappointment but I wasn’t surprised. PS5 day one for me. This made my mind up. I don’t think I’ll ever get an Xbox ever again.

Not wise to pre-order. I'll wait to see reviews before splashing so much money on it. Especially goner wait to see whether that jet-engine noise has gone and whether the controller has better quality. Getting the series X on launch anyways since their hardware can be trusted. Don't mind waiting a few months. Be smart.

None. I'll be going for the series X for the first time. I prefer 60 FPS frame rates at minimum which ps5 cannot offer It's actually a 9.2 TFLOP console.

I don't think the PS5 can run 120fps. Series X will.

They need to be careful here. Price increases are surely going to alienate gamers, especially the average consumer. However, if the value is equivalent to the price then I don't mind but they cannot make mediocre games for high prices. People will just stop buying eventually until it goes down considerably.

Next gen will be the first time I'll pass on PS. Probably cop the Series X instead.

If it's another jet I'll pass and get a series X instead.

The design is abysmal. Idm long as it's not another jet.

I think all of you are bluffing. Personally, despite Sony's superior first-party games, based on my personal experiences, Xbox has a way better gaming experience, especially within the online ecosystem. It's more enjoyable especially the third-party games I've played online. Don't know why but it is what I noticed.

@OmegaStriver how can I be a fanboy when I own both consoles and I'm basing my opinion on what I've experienced using both consoles?. Fact that you can't take a criticism of PS makes you the fanboy not me. Whether you like it or not, the PS is full of small children who kill the online experience on the PS. I've used both platforms and that's what I have noticed.

I'm getting the Xbox series X NEXT gen. Multiplayer has been way more enjoyable on the Xbox than PS. That's something I've noticed as I've played both current gen consoles. Xbox have more mature grown up players as opposed to the majority of small kids playing PS whose mothers have bought them a PS because that's all they have ever known. Plus look at the size of the PS gigantic. And will have hardware issues probably.

I think it looks absolutely *****. Like the innovation but it's hell chunky and asymmetric. Whoever designed this needs to be fired. I just hope its not another jet engine.

I think Sony will reveal it tomorrow. Too risky to leave it another month in case it actually leaks. Can't wait to put my pre order in. One for PS5 one for series X

@TrueAssassin86x Ideally the wisest decision would be to grab PS5 day one and then series X after 2 years or so. Making compatible games for previous gen and next gen will hold the series X back. Plus no real exclusives Microsoft said for the first 1 year or 2. Plus time will enable those studios Microsoft have bought to nurture and see what they can do.

Sony need to be very careful here. They're taking the bloody mick. I am this close to jumping ship and buying the Series X instead. One thing is a change in strategy, another thing is taking us fans for a fool. I'm tired of this just bloody reveal it ffs.

I get what's going on right now, however the company is a joke. They clearly knew what's going on and decided to announce it anyway. I ask myself why?. This has put me off purchasing the console and really pondering on getting a series X instead. Getting everyone's hopes up and then boom.

So that basically means because PS5 is a much simpler console to work with in making games than the series X, the PS5 will have a better looking games and maybe even better framerates come next gen as developers will make the most of the console. Whereas for series X it's the opposite, developers won't make the most of the power of the machine due to its more complex nature in making the games on the platform. Power means nothing without developers utilising it's full potential. So you would be wise to get a PS5 next gen. I am definitely day one.

Personally I believe brand new hardware should only be for games for next gen only. Otherwise it will hold it back and hence that's why Microsoft is not really a next gen gaming machine if they build it also for previous gen. Well done Sony.

What about the actual PS5 itself?

I don't normally pre-order but judging on how far technology has progressed and the big jump leap in performance of next gen compared to previous gens, I will definitely be putting in a pre-order. I cannot wait. I'm like a child wanting the candy.

Well here in the UK, I plan to cop the PS5 day one. £400 would be the ideal price. Above that and Sony will be in trouble since the Xbox console is slightly more powerful. Next gen will be closer than last that's for sure

Sony are another level when it comes to game studios and making proper games. That's coming from a former Xbox player. PS5 will defo be my next gen machine.

Easy decision for me. PS5 DAY ONE. Never getting an Xbox ever again.

The UI and the games is the thing I'm looking forward to the most after its performance and sound of the machine. I hope the UI doesn't look childish like the PS4 one.

For me, it was plainly evident how loud mine and my cousins ps4 got. The pro is not as bad but the original ps4 was shocking. Playing game like Fortnite even turned it into a hair dryer. Just make it like a small PC like the Xbox series X I think it looks fantastic.

Man am I sick of all this. Sony just show us the design of the thing for God's sake.

Spencer is bluffing once again. He said the same ***** with the Xbox one X and boy I only had that for 1 month before I decided to part ways and get the ps4 pro instead. No good games on it was the killer blow. Next gen will be the same story. PS5 day one purchase for me God willing there won't be any shortage of supplies.

@InsertUsername Stop speaking nonsense. Why didn't I get these problems with an Xbox controller? Come back to earth and reality. The dualshock 4 was a dead ass controller.

@Daleaf I also had the same issues. All of them kept breaking. They felt like a cheap plastic toy. Never had this issue with my Xbox controller which is very well built.

I had my gripes with the dualshock 4 controller. It was too small and almost felt like a plastic toy. Wasn't very erganomic. This DualSense looks so much better and more bulky and more comfortable to play with. Cannot wait to get my hands on one of these on launch.

This would be a major blow for Sony. They cannot afford to make limited units as people will just go for the series X instead. I will also be making a pre order as soon as it is open but if they take the mick, I'll just get the series X.

It looks good. I hope Sony do something similar. I cannot wait for the console. They need to reveal it ASAP can't take much of this torture.

I wasn't too excited this gen in terms of hardware with the ps4 and Xbox one when it launched back in 2013 since it used the same weak Jaguar chips as the gen before this. However, next gen I cannot wait to get my hands on the PS5 and it's controller. Totally different architecture. Looks so good and I just hope it does not have hardware issues during launch. If Sony controls that, then they will be taking my money.

That's so cool. It's exceeded my expectations. Bulkier controller which will be way more comfortable than the small ps4 one and USB C alongside built in microphone. Good job SONY. Now the design we have all been waiting for..

Both will be excellent machines. However, Microsoft do not wow me. At the end of the day it's all about games and that superfast SSD in the PS5 will be a game changer. Microsoft have no good gamés it's a fact whether you like it or not. PS5 will be day one purchase for me.
