Re: Xbox's Gears of War: Reloaded Will Play Best on PS5 Pro

JustMyOpinion

@Godot25 Anyone with half a braincell visiting this site, would know it's referring to the console space. There's no need to spell out the obvious. This is not a PC website. My PC is more powerful than a PS5 Pro, and I didn't have an issue.

Besides, it makes for a silly headline to say 'play best on PC', which would equally be false as statement if you want to get serious, due to the fact that not all PCs are the same. Which PC? Whos PC?

So yes, in the grand scheme of things, you absolutely are overly argumentative on such a trivial point, and it's embarrassing that people have to point it out to you.

Seriously, move on and stop being that guy.

Re: Opinion: If You're on the Fence, Consider Buying a PS5 Now Before the Prices Inevitably Rise

JustMyOpinion

@ozkrmz Interesting.. I for one will be skipping next gen. The PS5 barely got pushed, constant remasters and just a lack of good and fun games.. Nothing so far convinces me that the next generation will change this.

People are more interested in games appearing nice than being fun to play.

The next gen console will likely be much more expensive, plus with current world events in the mix having a possible impact. Game companies are closing all over the place, more powerful consoles being pushed could mean more costs which could mean more time to make games, which usually means lack of frequent games.

I honestly see no good reason for a new, more powerful console. But I'll try keeping an open mind.

@Runex2121 I agree with you.

The others here thinking that a business won't try to make more profit if it can, even if they don't have to, have a strange perspective. Sure I prefer to pay lower to. But gamers need to understand these businesses aren't our friends. They exist to make money, and they'll slow push the lines as much as they can get away with it.

There are also all sorts of uncertainty in the global market and it's very hard to predict what the outcome will be
The next few year will be rocky between USA and China that affect businesses across the globe.

People need a holistic view of all this.

@naruball
"There is a difference between greed and healthy profit"

There’s is a balance to be struck, but "greed" vs "healthy profit" is a very economically vague and subjective standpoint.

In reality, every company aims for the highest profit the market will accept, and it’s up to consumers to push back if they feel it crosses into something excessive.

Ultimately, the free market defines what’s "healthy" by what people are willing (or unwilling) to pay.

If enough consumers continue to buy Nintendo games and Nintendo remains profitable, then the new price is justified from their perspective - simple as that.

@UltimateOtaku91 Pricing of the end product isn't decided by the time and cost of developing. That's just simply not how businesses work. There are numerous other factors that decide pricing for any company.. Gamers need to stop thinking game companies are their buddies. It's a company trying to profit like any other. I'm not defending their prices though. Ultimately it's the consumer response that'll determine whether they made the right choice or not before they adjust their pricing strategy.

@AgentGuapo Honestly, what you said is the only comment that matters.... People fail to understand that it's a business. If consumers are happy to pay high prices and they're profitable then that's a good business decision, if not the they'll readjust their pricing strategy.. There is nothing more to it.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida's Played 'So Many Versions' of Ghost of Yotei, and It's 'Always Felt Great'

JustMyOpinion

Ghost is tsushima was overhyped for me.. Found the character and the game just dull and boring. It world did look stunning, and the westerners feudal Japan/samurai fantasy desire was met in that sense, but there was nothing exciting about it as a game itself which is more important for me.. The RPG element was weak. .. For all who did enjoy the first, I'm sure the second will be better and you'll enjoy it.

Re: PS6 Can't Rely on Cutting-Edge Graphics, Sony Must 'Change Its Way of Thinking'

JustMyOpinion

I miss it when games were focused on being fun, whereas now it's all about how good a game looks. The pixel counting culture has damaged gaming for me. It's true that I enjoy a great looking game, but ONLY if it plays great and is fun. I'm hoping the industry will focus on making a game fun first, and then being able to make it look great as apposed to the other way around.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Soars Past 1 Million Players at Launch

JustMyOpinion

People seem determined to see this game fail. Suddenly, everyone’s a business and financial expert, picking apart every number just to downplay its potentially early success—almost as if it makes them feel better. It’s honestly pathetic. The so-called gaming community can be unbelievably petty at times.

Re: PSVR2 Gets Enormous Price Reduction Starting March 2025

JustMyOpinion

Tempting, but still not low enough for me. I'm hoping from this price point, any discounts will bring it down more.. I'd buy if it drops near the £250-£300 mark at the absolute most, however unlikely that may be.

On a separate note, it's great that it's functional on PC/Steam - makes it far more appealing for sure.

Re: No Man's Sky Gets Another Huge, Game-Changing Update with Worlds Part II

JustMyOpinion

What's the goal of the game? Is it just to fly around and discover random procedurally generated planets? Or is there some sort of main storyline to it? Genuine question. The game looks stunning and the support it frequently gets is admirable, but I'm not sure what it's about, and I don't like wondering randomly without a goal or mission in games.
