New Street Fighter Movie Targeting Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns 1

Capcom’s big screen Street Fighter adaptation, which it’s cooking with Legendary Pictures, is eyeing the Minecraft movie’s Jason Momoa and WWE’s Roman Reigns to join its cast. Other actors on the list include Andrew Koji (Bullet Train) and Noah Centineo (Warfare).

It’s not clear who Momoa is being coveted to play, although there are heavy rumours linking him to the role of Blanka, the green skinned Brazilian from Street Fighter 2.

This isn’t the first live action adaptation of Street Fighter, of course, with the most famous instalment featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile and Kylie Minogue as Cammy. While the film was panned at the time, it was a commercial success and has gone on to earn cult status – even spawning a Mortal Kombat-style spin-off game, which was a launch title for the PS1 in North America.

Other live action Street Fighter movies include The Legend of Chun-Li starring Kristin Kreuk, which was universally panned and has not gone on to earn cult status.

This isn’t the only upcoming adaptation Capcom has cooking, as it’s working on a Resident Evil movie reboot with Sony and PS Productions. Barbarian director Zach Cregger is leading that project, with a release due on 18th September, 2026.
