Ten years is a long time. An awful lot can happen in such a span, but we think one constant has remained since this day all the way back in 2015: The Witcher 3 is still an incredible video game.
First released on the 19th May 2015, the third title in CD Projekt Red's series took the gaming world by storm. It was met with rave reviews (including an ultra rare Push Square 10/10), and became an instant hit with most players.
At the time, The Witcher 3 set an undeniable benchmark for role-playing games. In its superbly sharp writing, rich world building, and genre-topping side quests, it was — and arguably still is, in a lot of ways — the gold standard RPG.
But everything starts to show its age at one point or another — and that can be especially true of video games. We're left wondering just how much opinions of The Witcher 3 may have shifted over the last decade.
Having said that, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition launched for PS5 in 2022 — and the adventure seemed to go down extremely well all over again. Sometimes, great games just stay... great (although this re-release did come with a lot of welcome enhancements).
