GTA 6

Updates surrounding the Grand Theft Auto series are one of the very few examples of video game news that can break into the mainstream, and last week's six-month delay to GTA 6 was no different.

It was so impactful, in fact, that one Polish MP felt it was noteworthy enough to bring up in parliament.

On the day of the major delay, Witold Tumanowicz of the Confederation party took to the Sejm podium and said: "As part of my parliamentary statement, I wanted to inform you about a very disturbing matter. An hour ago, Rockstar Games announced that the release of GTA VI will be delayed until next year. This is a huge scandal."

He then joked: "Honestly, if people don't take to the streets after something like this, I don't know what will happen." You can view his statement in the video below:

Of course, the tongue-in-cheek style of Tumanowicz's statement means he was just having a little fool around, but it does highlight just how big and important the release of GTA 6 will be for the video games industry. You don't get the same kind of parliamentary coverage for the Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra delay, announced just a few hours after the GTA 6 pushback.

GTA 6 will now launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19th November 2026, as long as there isn't a third delay. Last week, Rockstar said the "extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve".

Do you think GTA 6 will actually make it to launch in November 2026, or will we have another "huge scandal" on our hands when it's pushed back into 2027? Let us know in the comments below.
