Until Sony tells us exactly how PS4 games will work with PS5, I will be waiting. Will we be provided with a patch that completely opens the game up for PS5 or will we have to buy an alternate version/disc to get the best possible version once PS5 is out? That's what I want to know on this (and Ghost of Tsushima).

I personally don't care about all of the "hype" surrounding these reveals. It's not like the PS5 is some big secret that is coming out of nowhere. I would wager that most people want to know when they can buy it and how much it will cost. Nothing else really matters, in the grand scheme of things.

I can't believe there was no mention of the sound design. To me, that's what sets Doom apart from all of the other shooters. Mick Gordon's work is phenomenal and a vital ingredient to the whole package.

Will I be able to transfer my PS4 saves over to my PS5? That's what I want to know about backward compatibility. If not, then it's not that important to me and will be the entire reason to keep my PS4 Pro.

Just give us some Ninja Gaiden already!

Considering I wasn't surveyed to answer these questions, it doesn't actually mean anything to me. Statistics can be made to tell whatever you want.

Drop the online part, give me the first three games and I'll spend my money right now.

I'd be pretty happy with a new Quake or at least a compilation of older Quake games for consoles. Doom Eternal is going to be great.

Sony should look to their past and give us a PS5 that looks like a Betamax with wood grain end cheeks.

In all honesty, if I had to give my top 100 games of all time (starting in the Atari 2600 era for me), I seriously don’t think The Last Of Us would make the cut. Of the last decade it might just make the top 25 at best.

Didn’t the disc from each system require a different kind or color of optical laser to read them? Would that mean different play heads for the PS1 black CD, one for PS2 DVD, and another for PS3/PS4/PS5 Blu-ray?

I play the same way I have since the Atari 2600 days: with physical games, no online, and only local multiplayer.

I think God of War was a step backward. The kid was irritating, the narrative was too slow, the enemies were boring and lacked interesting design, Kratos' axe was slow and not fun to use, his blades were massively underpowered, the boss fights were nothing compared to those in the Greek Mythology world, traveling by boat was a slog, and the valkyrie battles were unenjoyable.

...but it looked really good.

I’m glad Dreams exists. I’m too dumb for it, but I’m happy for those smart enough to know what to do with it.

I prefer the 8-bit and 16-bit generations when I didn’t have to wait on a boot up sequence.

I just finished this game last night and I too don’t care for the RPG aspects. I constantly felt like I was forced to grind XP instead of moving forward to see what was next. The hub (catacombs) completely ruins the pacing for me and I’m afraid they are now planning the same for Doom Eternal - it was announced that the Slayer will have a place that he hangs out.

All of this just screams to me that we need a 4K60 remastered Resistance Trilogy for PlayStation. That was a FPS series done right.

Quake. I want a Quake game of some form on my current gen console. No, I don’t want to join the PC crowd. I love Doom but a solid, single player, campaign, Quake game would be awesome.

I'm not a co-op or online play kind of person, but I'm definitely going to give this a go.

Now...what the world really needs is a new Resistance game.

I’m only about an hour in but I’m enjoying it. I’m still not sold on the controls though because at this point in the game it still feels floaty.

Platinum and Sega just need to give us a sequel to Vanquish.

I just want an answer to the only relevant question there is:

If certain games make a PS4 Pro and an Xbone sound like an airplane taking off, will PS5 and Scarlett sound like a space shuttle launch when taxed?

The music in the Nintendo Direct was much more appealing and actually had a variation of the Contra theme in it. This reminds me of the first several hype videos for Mortal Kombat 11 being some ridiculous hip hop garbage.
That said, I’m buying the heck out of this!

The TG-16 mini honestly almost won E3 in my books. My Turbo Duo broke many years ago and I’m more than happy to revisit a solid year or so of my childhood with this new release. My fingers and toes are crossed that M2 is handling the ports.

The only other Konami announcement that I would have jumped for joy over are remastered versions of the Castlevania Lords of Shadow games. I think they get u deserved hatred but I found them to be amazingly enjoyable for what they were.

I had substantially more fun with the Daemon X Machina demo than I did with Anthem. Just goes to show that pretty visuals don’t make a great game.

@Dodoo I felt the exact same way with the main campaign due to the slow pace and controls. I honestly don’t even know how close to finishing I came - I found it beautiful but too boring to keep investing time into it.

If Sony really wants to impress me, make it so the PS5 doesn’t sound like a fighter jet taking off when under a heavy processor load. Xbone and PS4 get so darn loud sometimes.

I just can't deal with Ian from Shameless being the lead. That might be the thing that keeps me from buying this game 😂

Honestly, this game absolutely blows me away with its beauty and depth while boring me to death at the same time. I’ve never experienced this before. I WANT to finish it, but it’s too much of the same over and over.

How deep of a tutorial/teaching mode will Dreams have?

Is this game more geared toward creators or people who want to learn how to use the tools to become creators? It looks great but also incredibly overwhelming and complicated.

...but does Ed Boon explain the choice of using hip hop music for the trailers?

@Eldritch certain aspects do look fantastic, don’t get me wrong. I just feel like a lot of it has low res textures that look really outdated. Great lighting, but the plane models aren’t very impressive to my eyes. At any rate, I’m sure the game will still be fun to play. It’s just funny to me how the last two generations have focused on looks rather than how fun it is. I’m a sucker for that mentality as well, apparently.

Destiny was and is (to me) boring and lifeless. Then again, I never found Halo to be very appealing either, so I shouldn't be too surprised.

Unreal Tournament, Resistance, Time Splitters, etc. were all more entertaining and felt like the creators actually tried to be creative.
