Considering how busy ArcSys is rn and with how they're probably making this one of the new major on-boarding points for players, it only makes sense ArcSys is taking their time with an announcement for it, not to mention that they usually save their announcements for some of their events like EVO and the World Tour. We'll probably get some news soon, but I can definitely be patient and wait, especially since it seems like they're majorly overhauling the game
@PuppetMaster I mean I do know that Song wants to make money, but Sony has hedged so many bets with every single triple A big budget title that they take a risk in the most boring way possible that leaves little room for variety. I'm just saying that the smaller titles would not need to be the biggest success because they wouldn't be the biggest risks monetarily, they would just need to find a way to make it more focused. Also that's saying that Loco Roco and Patapon didn't do well, when both series got like 3 or 4 major games in their series, and most of the other games besides Puppeteer were smaller PSN titles, they probably did well for what they were at the time.
Honestly I appreciate that Sony decided to go for a pixel art style metroidvania, something that they 100% would not do on most circumstances, and had it be related to one of their most popular franchises. I just feel like, and no disrespect to Mega Cat Studios, but they probably weren't going to put out anything crazy anyways, because they largely focus on pretty standard retro styled titles, and more so make a name for the fact a lot of their games are on old systems like Genesis. I just hope Sony is willing to take more risks with smaller titles again and make them in part of new series and stuff, I feel like we would be more hype about Sony's line-up if we had a few more curve balls thrown at us.
CrisTales I would recommend if you're interested in RPG's but I wouldn't say losing it on the service is a big deal, because this game is cheap as dirt for some reason across all consoles, you can find physical copies for like less than $10, if even.
Very cool to see it coming to console! Have heard only good things about the game, and the fact it's getting a strategy story mode? Definitely seals the deal for me
I went for Vac Women (Design K), seemed like she had a cool personality and style mixed with the robot gimmick so I think it would lead to a cool stage and boss if she wins. Disappointed my friend's robot design didn't make it but at least all of the other designs are good too
Very glad to see this is stacked with tons of modes, and seeing more of the gameplay here definitely gives me good Outrun/Ridge Racer vibes with the drifting (the pure test of how good an arcade racer truly is) so it just makes me more excited for it.
I'm very excited to finally play it finally in full since I got into the Alpha Lab, but I just don't really want to play on PC lol. Definitely going to hop in again when I have the time!
I love how dedicated RGG has been to bringing all of these older and more obscure Sega Arcade and Home Console games to the Yakuza series, because while I would love to see these get more individualized releases, or even dedicated compilations, I know now that unless that Arcade Paradise trademark they registered bares any fruit, these are the only ways these games were going to be rereleased.
Really sucks when games like this rise in price to stupid levels not even because of the game itself, but for outside reasons. Because I have played a bit of Racer Revenge and it was pretty good, but now I know for sure that no one is actually buying the physical copy to play it. LRG's tagline hypocrisy really in effect with this one
@ThomasHL Well not exactly. The game js an asset tag fighter, and your teammate is the one that controls the assists and bursting, while you control the tagging.
I purchased a copy of Gaiden while on my trip to Japan back in May and I super enjoyed it. Funnily enough I have not yet played any of the main Yakuza games but I still really enjoyed the story in it.
Even if it's crazy we're still getting PS4 games, it does make sense if it's going to Switch 1, and plus I bet if anyone that still only has a PS4, and they got in relatively early, you got some crazy mileage out of brand new game releases, like the only other system that might compare is the PS2, but obviously the PS4 is getting more actual games and not just sports games.
My guess is that Tokon is probably going to be a holiday title next year I assume, or it's simply releasing in a few months after EVO, because I feel like with the info we've gotten (not much) that Sony wanted to reveal it early for the betas to get hands on impressions of it, or they just needed to reveal it early to just bolster their line-up immediately a bit more.
Them saying it will start so soon means that they probably have next season's line-up set for the Game Awards. From what I played from the beta it's very fun and want to jump in, just been waiting since I've been on a bit of a fighter break rn, mainly waiting for the most likely eventual Switch 2 version
@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy 2XKO is very newcomer friendly. It has simple inputs, you can play together with someone, and it's free to play to make it easy to just download and play. They just mainly mention competitive stuff in their trailers because most of the people watching all of them (fighting game freaks like me), is because they want to give assurance to those that love fighting games that they're super transparent about the changes and developments they make so that way the game is run for a long time to come, not to mention they want to help support the scene as a whole and make it grow. A lot of other fighters have had weird communication problems that have arised from the slight lack of transparency between players and the devs
My god this is the best line-up by default. Idk why Sony decided to give us 5 full games here but I'm definitely happy to see it. Neon White is definitely the highlight for me but Killing Floor 3 could probably be fun and very curious Synduality since I've never heard of it before but look cool from the screenshot here.
It does suck that the live service hole of games is just keeping kids away from new experiences, but hopefully if I'm reading this correctly, that the 37% of kids that want a new physical game is part of the overall sample in comparison to the 3/5 kids the specifically want a video game related gift. Because maybe at least then kids are asking for either currency and a new video game. But even if it is a proportion of the proportion then that's at least still pretty good. Hopefully all those kids get the games they want (and that they're picking out some cool titles as well lol)
@Flaming_Kaiser Fair, but my point is that game difficulty doesn't feel like a good excuse for a refund. They have a game that probably is eligible ror refunds in some way, but not for the game difficulty, because that's the way its always been. Never saw people getting mad at the SF 30th Anniversary Collection for the original bugged difficulty of SSF2T, it's just how the game has always been
Well I think that's unfair to the collection, because Digital Eclipse just wanted to reproduce it as accurately as possible. Like imagine if someone said that Elden Ring was too hard so they had to pester Sony for a refund, everyone would say that's not the best reason to refund it, unless you for some reason didn't know it would be ahead of time and thought you weren't going to beat it in a manageable time schedule, but even then these arcade games.
It sucks that the ESports division couldn't be swayed, but I guess they saw the money that Japan is willing to pay for SF and didn't want to back down until at least this CPT Season is over. Hopefully after that point they are able to walk it back
I mean I know the people at Halo Studios don't want it to be, but Microsoft definitely want it to be. They would of just brought over the Master Chief Collection if they wanted to stand shoulder to shoulder, but a good preexisting collection doesn't make people do nostalgia orgasms (sorry PushSquare I couldn't think of another way to put it) by saying a remake is certified "awesome" with "awesome" graphics compared to just playing the original that is actually awesome and important for a reason
@Stepan Already said but Sega does consider 1 million copies to be pretty good for Sonic games especially in terms of spin-offs. I would probably assume they're expecting this to be a title with good legs, just as most of their other Sonic games are so it'll probably get higher as the holiday season rolls in
Xbox is definitely sabotaging Onsidian with how they're marketing the Outer Worlds 2, which is funny considering they've arguably have been the studio that has produced the most stuff since they got bought out
Man it feels so quaint to hear DotEmu getting excited about 200,000 copies when most companies can't even be happy with a few million and even DotEmu having SoR4 and Shredder's Revenge both selling at least a million each. My guess since DotEmu needed to license out different IP's and this is their first original title, they more so were just hoping it had any type of success which is nice to see it's doing well for them so far
Really glad to see this coming. Have been wishing the PS Store would get this for a long while. Hopefully even if we can write reviews rn on console that hopefully we can view them on console
-Waits multiple months after digital release for physical release -Physical release still requires an internet download Like that stuff is just annoying why even wait to release a physical version if you don't get everything on disc? Just don't bother or wait to drop the digital version with the physical?
I wonder of this will affect live-service games as well with new updates once this releases, because if so I bet we definitely will see many of them announcing support ending for last-gen systems soon as Sony makes these public.
Considering Clap Handz has done every thing possible to try and avoid Sony out of spite it does suck that they have to be the ones facing issues for a game they didn't make.
The track they showed off of Wily Castle looks so good, probably the best one they've shown. Just looked like they really took the time to get a lot of the animations down and looking clean
She's looking so very cool! Definitely seems like they're trying to keep her SF4 identity in tact so it's going to be very interesting to see how technical she is compared to her in SF4 and even MVC3
Playing through Returnal rn and very much enjoying it so I'm very excited to see what they're doing with Saros. They're probably Sony's only western based studio that's making games that are unique and interesting right now.
@Dudeitsme Actually it's already a thing as a part of the Sega Ages line. Normally cost about $8 but can be had for cheaper regularly since Sega does a lot of sales
@Questionable_Duck Ok that would make sense. Feels a little strange it wouldn't be in the English one but hey maybe Japan gets along more with the RPG's than us in the west
