This is not new. Capcom did the same thing in SF5, a game that was also $60 on launch and was much less deserving of these prices for extra costumes, which 3 bucks alone isn't that bad personally for how meticulous and awesome all of the costumes look. Does it suck that you do have to buy all the costumes, yes, but it's not bad at all considering this is what Capcom has been doing with SF costumes, and will keep doing. This is not $15 Ninja Turtles Avatar Costume situation. And its also kinda insane that people just don't expect this now. Does it suck that the industry has such a heavy focus on monetization now? Yes. But this is expected. And companies will not stop doing it until the only thing that matters, money from these purchases, isn't high enough from a casual consumer base (the people who the companies care about) to change anything. I might pick up a few costumes myself whenever I get the chance because if I spend $10 for some fighter coins and get 3 costumes for characters I really like, that's all I'll need
Honestly, quite a decent list. I've been wanting to try out Lego 2K Drive and PowerWash Simulator for a while now so those are definitely ones I'll play, and I don't have a PS5 yet but Sable looks very pretty so I'll make sure to claim it on the store website. Quite happy with this month after the past few have been pretty lackluster for me
Not really wanting any physical games, sure I'm ok with that, especially considering both PS and Xbox have digital only options, my main thing is with asking for digital currencies. Like subscriptions, sure PS Plus and Game Pass are awesome gifts, my uncle even got me PS Plus one year for Christmas, but idk man digital currencies feel like the saddest thing to get on Christmas because it just feels so disposable. Like getting PS Plus or Game Pass, while not giving you access to one individual game, at least opens you up to 100's of games you might be willing to try. Digital currency is just so disposable because that currency isn't owning an experience or a ticket to rent/check out many different experiences, it's just another way to have kids addicted to the skinner boxes most of the popular games have been dedicating towards to maximize profit. Plus getting an actual physical game is so much cooler to unwrap and see then just a gift card imo
@LowDefAl Agreed, especially since people can just buy the classic games without Premium (which is what I'm doing) and I think Grandia and Jet Moto are really cool games to have come back so I would say it's a really good month on that side
Man, for an $80 purchase, this seems like an amazing deal with tons of awesome stuff. When most companies want you to buy a $100+ deluxe edition with just the dlc season pass while this is giving the goodies that would only be in the most expensive of expensive collectors editions, this is an awesome thing that Larian is doing. They seem to just be hitting the right notes constantly recently
This is a pretty good line up for the month! Nothing too crazy for Extra but almost all of the games I wanna check out. Same for the Premium selection. Up is the only fully new title that feels a little weird but Grandia and Jet Moto are awesome inclusions
Yong's voice definitely sticks out but that's most likely because I've just listened to his voice so much throughout the years. I haven't honestly played any of the main Like A Dragon games, only the Judgement series, and I played those with English VA so I shouldn't be too bothered with Gaiden as my first main game lol
Man, this ridiculous amount of success definitely won't lead to other companies trying to do cash grab last gambit nostalgia bait tactics to try and pump up increased short term growth and not end up leading to more live-service slop games and tactics for many more years to come and causing over expansion when down turns hit to have people lose their jobs, right? Right?
Sucks to see that this sequel have a decent few glitches and problems. This is one of the few next-gen only titles that made me want to jump in as I recently played Ghostrunner a few months back from PS Plus Extra and had a really good time with it after wanting to play it for the longest time. Hopefully by the time I do get a next-gen console that the frame rate and bugs get fixed a bit
I would take the Street Fighter 6 W here already, but I gotta give a bigger W to Tetris Effect taking a top 3 spot. That's the power of how great Tetris Effect is
Eh, I personally not someone who plays lots of Co-Op games so I won't probably be bothered much by the problems it has, so this probably just means that we got another really solid 2d Sonic. Still got a big backlog of games I gotta get through so I won't be picking this up right away but I will definitely check it out later, probably on sale
This actually kinda makes sense. My local Best Buy's physical selection is poultry compared to any other stores nearby. They definitely haven't seen big sales from physical media so it's easy to stop ordering new shipments and start letting it languish, but its still sad none the less
@supergurr Yeah I guess that's fair. I know many titles aren't what most people want, but lets face that kinda is most of Sony's line-up of first party titles until maybe the PS3's latter years. Most of the PS1 games you mention here are already on Playstation in their own game that the currents owners would want you to buy more like Tomb Raider, Spyro, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy, or are impossible to bring over due to current licencing issues like Gran Turismo, Die Hard, and 007. The only you mentioned that could come over are the classic RE games but obviously Capcom doesn't want them on there that badly. I just think Sony has a harder time being able to channel across the board nostalgia for their classic titles compared to Nintendo because most of the titles that were massive hits on Playstation, were third-party titles they have no control over or are limited to being relevant to specific ages of people who grew up with a specific Sony console
@supergurr Dude this is arguably one of the best selection of PS1 and PSP games we've had. The main problem is simply the rate they're coming out. I bet if there was one really good PS1 or PSP RPG here everyone would be going crazy. It's not like PS1 and PSP games are bad, plus if you already have Premium you might as well try them and make your investment worth it
Extra doesn't have much for me this month but Premium is actually really good this month. Idk why people are scoffing at these games like they're bad or not worth checking out, because I think all of these games are ones I would wanna play
Ok now this cancellation is making much more sense. Like I think I was one of the few people interested in Hyenas, but this doesn't feel like it should be Sega's most expensive game ever. I would expect something like a new huge Sonic game or Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth to be their most costly titles, so I guess a cancellation here to avoid blowing even more money on it for super lacking returns makes sense
I think people just still think 3D Sonic is just about holding up on the analog stick and holding a button, so I think people just don't know how to fully play Sonic
Better than last month, but only because of Weird West for me, as Farming Simulator is not my type of game and I still remember people saying in reviews and stuff that Callisto is just kinda meh
@Mikey856 Buddy factories put automated forms of production there because they do a simple binary motion over and over again. It's simple. Something that requires human context and thought to do simply doesn't apply. AI just takes existing works, jumbles them up to make something different, and people who just wanna consume product eat it up because they lost all of their brain cells to realize that if this happens, we're gonna get the same slop over and over again
@starbuck2212 @BrockSmith So you're saying you want all of the people who make all of the characters you love and grow attachments to not get reasonable pay for the work they put into these huge blockbuster million selling titles and replace them with generic and soulless ai recreations and have more money fill the pockets of the already overpayed CEO's
Honestly that's a really fair move on Devolver. The fact that Sony and Xbox only want to pay big bucks for titles that only attract eyes of casual less in-tuned people who play games instead of focusing on paying games of huge quality lots to be on the service. Considering that Devolver is one to try and make a mockery of the greater gaming industry and try to focus on new and interesting looking experiences, it honestly only makes sense that they would reject the drive to have everything on a subscription service and focus on making more money with people who are guaranteed to pay the price for owning actually good games
Extra this month is pretty good, almost all of these games I wanna check out, but oh my god why does Sony keep doing this with Premium. Like I get all of these games are remakes/remasters of games that were originally on Sony systems, but this doesn't feel like a genuine classics catalog, this just feels like Sony wants only third party games and simply won't put out their library of awesome first party titles because putting basic PS4 remasters on there is just lazy
@CutchuSlow Trust me dude, I'm currently 17 and I know quite a few kids who are younger and only play on Playstation. Of course I'm not Roblox fan in any way (think it's a manipulative cesspit and I have many other games to play) but I know for a fact that lots kids are probably gonna eat this up ten fold
Already was interested in finally picking up this game after falling in love with the Judgement games, and just like Judgement, I'm 100% gonna get just because they put a never ported Sega Arcade racer lol. Literally only got super interested in Judgement initially because of Motor Raid and Daytona 2 here is literally just making me wanna pick this up 100% now
Not much here for me personally, mainly because their kinda not too crazy cool or I already own the ones I already wanted like Lost Judgement (Which is fantastic btw. Highly recommend it after playing the original). Sea of Stars, Destroy All Humans 2, Two Point Hospital, and Cursed to Golf are all ones I wanna try though so not a bad month at all Premium also looks good this month as well
Honestly yeah this is very overpriced, but Fortnite and other live services have been doing this for now almost half a decade. And I honestly do get it. It's an expensive licence that is here for a limited time and Capcom need revenue in order to keep the game alive. I bought the Year 1 Ultimate pass not just to get all of the new major characters and content, but to also be there and support the game long term. I think we just gotta learn that if we don't like it, just ignore it and have fun as always or buy it if you do really want it. We can't have our cake and eat it too
It's cool that the game finally reached it, but I'm guessing it took this long mainly from the fact that the game was hampered by the pandemic. Hopefully the sequel entices enough to many people to give itself another major boost on players
Really glad Marisa's wedding dress is coming as a costume. I saw it in WT and instantly thought that it needed to be a costume. Makes me really glad I got the deluxe season pass lol
@pharos_haven I mean it took them a little over 2 years to reach 1 million copies sold so another million so quickly with Game Pass is a really good achievement
Super impressive to see this! Game Pass did a lot for Strive it seems. I know some people might only boot it up for a bit sometimes, but I know of people who will simply not take advantage of any free games they have the ability to play and try out something new so it's awesome so many people were willing to check it out
Great selection this month. Dreams and Death's Door are must plays for sure and golf games are always really fun in game form so this is a really good month for Essential imo
Rashid is looking properly crazy. Dude looks like he has the speed and combo potential of a god in this game, especially now with Drive Rush in the mix. Super excited to try him out with my rental fighter passes

I recommend checking out Caladrius Blaze. It's a really fun shooter that has some very captivating gameplay

@Funnydoode91 Dude the english dub isn't even in the game yet. Plus the English VA is just an option. No one is forcing you if you don't want to
