Re: PS Plus Essential Games for September 2024 Announced

Man, this is really not a me month. Not crazy excited over Harry Potter (Witch Hat Atelier is just that but better you should read it), not a sports fan, and Little Nightmares 2 is cool, but I'm not as enthusiastic to play it rn when I haven't played the first yet, so kinda weak for me overall

Some of the picks here are honestly really cool (like I never would of expected something like Spelunky or Exodus). Honestly Mega Man being one of the episodes sounds the most exciting to me because I feel like of they going to be very story based, I'm wondering what they're gonna do with it in terms of fleshing out the world of Mega Man, because Mega Man's world and characters are really cool, I just think it doesn't get the chance to fully shine sometimes

@dskatter Yeah you couldn't add content after release in the 90's and 2000's, but they weren't really content complete either, were they? Like every SF game. Would you say that SF2, 3, and 4 were complete with their original versions? My guess would be no, if you consider Super Turbo, Third Strike, and Ultra the only way you should play said games today. They just had to make you buy another game to get the new content, and if you are wanting to have it be content complete, then I'm going to assume you didn't buy a copy of these games until those final original versions. Of course I would love if these games were content complete too, I love it when these fighters can feel complete, but these games need to get out eventually, and with just the way these games exist, that would be a nightmare for longevity and stability of a game if it still got no updates and stuff

Honestly, I am a little confused with some parts of CotW as a package. First off, it is cool that basically the first year of dlc is getting added for free is cool. Melty Blood Type Lumina added all of their dlc for free for its entire life and that's great, but I'm confused because they say this is a "special edition" of the game, when this is the only version. I just think that it just feels weird that they say it's a season pass, when it's just being included as a main part of the game. The fact it is coming later isn't a problem, because that's just fighters now and anyone complaining about it doesn't know how fighting games actually work, and them being free will definitely help people come back to the game more no matter what people's financial situation is. Not to mention that the base 17 roster is the average size of a new modern fighter so it doesn't feel like the amount of content isn't finished. What I DO have an issue with is the RPG mode REQUIRING at LEAST an internet download it seems. This is literally meant to be a core single player mode, and it NEEDS to be downloaded, if not needs a constant internet connection. This just sucks because this is just like what Netherrealm did with Invasions and Towers of Time in MK1 and 11 respectively. Key modes that require internet for no reason. I just think this is such a bad move, even if they decide to keep evolving the mode overtime. But anyways, the rant is over. Game itself is still looking great, those points just kinda make me feel miffed

@Solingo_Bill I was gonna mention China as well lol. Considering how also China is much more versed in PC gaming since they only just got consoles more readily over there, I bet the Steam numbers are higher than Elden Ring because this is a game by a Chinese company, with a focus on the Chinese market, so I wouldn't be shocked if those numbers are higher because of that alone

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

Fighting_Game_Loser

Eh I'm kinda tired of it, only because when said term is used that it means that the gameplay is just going to be almost one to one control and feel wise to FromSoft's titles, which just make them look like they kinda play the same in footage. I just think that devs should try and bring a little variety to it by trying new things in terms of art design and gameplay feel to make it stand-out. Like Another Crab's Treasure is a souls-like and does tons of unique stuff with it in terms of those

Honestly I know MH World saw stupid success on only home consoles, but I think when they consider how great the success of Rise as well and how much further reaching the MH IP is with it being on Switch, and when thinking of wanting to have constant growth for a publicly traded company, asking if MH Wilds is only going to be on non-portable systems honestly isn't a bad question loll

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for June 2024 Announced

Essential is pretty good this month even if I already have a physical copy of Streets of Rage 4 with the DLC, but for everyone else that's easily the highlight here. I've wanted to check out Spongebob The Cosmic Shake for a while now and I've heard AEW is a solid wrestling game so I'm definitely excited to pick up those titles

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for May 2024?

Fighting_Game_Loser

You see, this would of been a pretty great month for me, but I am already playing through Tunic on Switch with the physical copy I got and loving it, and I don't yet have a PS5 to play Ghostrunner 2 even though I really want to. I'm not into sports or Destiny so the stuff I don't have or can't play are ones that would be great if not for my circumstances, and everything else is not to my taking.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About All of the Xbox Multiplatform Rumours?

Fighting_Game_Loser

I'm kinda on the edge for I feel about this, and I don't even have a modern Xbox lol. I think that many of Xbox's exclusives are really cool, but aren't really enough for me to pick one up fully. They don't really have anything that fully sells the system, plus with how solely online depended the Xbox interface is I've just always stuck to PS and Nintendo. I think it can really depend on what games Xbox brings over that might signal bad signs for their future with how the console gaming industry goes. If other systems largely get just the smaller series like they've already done with Ori and are almost definitely going to be doing with Hi-Fi Rush, or with their more active online titles like Sea of Thieves's rumors or maybe Microsoft bringing KI 2013 over would make since as those increase online player bases, but their big heavy hitter titles that are meant to be single player adventures that sell a console, it could be bad if Microsoft just ends hardware all together, and then Sony is the only major player in the high-end dedicated console market and they might try and get away with really bad things. We'll have to wait and see in the future

Re: Rumour: A PS5 Remake of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Is Possibly on the Cards

Fighting_Game_Loser

God why is Sony these stupid as hell remakes. Like I know Drake's Fortune is now basically a decade and a half old now but oh my god Sony you released all 3 titles on PS4 and made them play like they haven't aged a day. They could be literally doing any other game that could use a remake more, hell even from the PS3 that could use another chance and be refined but no, they gotta remake Drake's Fortune because Sony need to have all of the casual gamers play a new version of a game that's already great and modern looking for a full $70 of wasted effort when they could just try and market the Nathan Drake collection to them by maybe just upgrading the game to have a new native PS5 version
