Astrobot Rescue Missions makes the purchase price of PSVR worth it alone. I literally had a smile on my face the entire game. A true joy to play. Fun and innovative as well as having great 3D sound. When you hear one of his buddies crying, "Help Me!" In that adorable voice, you won't be able to forward until you find him. It's made by the same team so Ps5 owners are going to be in for an amazing treat! Can't wait. The 12th of November can't come fast enough!
@ShogunRok I think they remedied that issue with last underwater gameplay trailer. That seemed to change the tide of perception to a positive light, would you not agree? I myself was sold as soon as they verified no microtransactions!
I am always confused by this. Why do people think they should infinitely get free upgrades to a game no matter how much extra money and work were put into it? Hey Honda I bought an accord in 2016 can I get my free upgrade to the 2020 model? It makes no sense. Just because Microsoft got destroyed last gen now they have to play catch up by giving games and upgrades away free to ingratiate themselves with gamers. Same with gamepass. The only thing I think to gripe about is not bring able to buy it stand alone or a physical edition. Other than that I think Sony doing it on a case by case basis is correct whike allowing third party companies to do the same. I should note that unsurprisingly Sammy is crapping on Sony again. No magnanimity here. You should really consider changing to an xbox or switch site as it appears you constantly complain about Sony.
@themightyant That's great you feel that way. But they are not just games we are talking about. There are corporations that make the games and hardware. And frankly I do not like Microsoft as a company. But most importantly I don't like their ecosystem, their aesthetic, nor their plans for the industry that I love. I much prefer the japanese aesthetic and type of games and game developers that Sony has grown. While gamepass may seem like a great value it comes at a cost. Videogames take millions of dollars to make, and many, many, years of hard work and passion. So when Microsoft releases new games day and date it devalues games in the minds of many consumers. This will particularly hurt indy game developers and publishers. When you have a small 15 person studio that worked their butt off for years and spent their life's savings to make a game. Their game may not sell as well because Microsoft charges betwen 1 and 15 dollars to play multiple 60 plus dollar games. They know that the amount they should get is 30 bucks, but gamepass is definitely going to affect their ability to get a fair value for their game because Microsoft is such a rich company they can give their games away for peanuts. To me Ps Now is superior because it does the opposite of gamepass. Instead of devaluing nee games it brings a spotlight onto older ganes that may have been overlooked. Finally I'm glad you're console agnostic but you are no better than someone who prefers and enjoys one console or ecosystem.
As I have said multiple times this, is often times one of the worst enthusiast websites there is. Constantly negative about playstation. Nitpicky about lame issues. Yes Sammy you do sound like a whiney baby. Yes obviously COVID has played a huge part in why Sony has done things this way. But seriously is it that imperative that you know how the UI operates months before it is released? No you do not. As far as the backward compatability is concerned it is not that difficult to figure out Sammy. The Ps4 games will just play when you put them in. To utilize the Ps5 hardware benefits on Ps4 games you will likely just enable the boost mode like on Ps4 Pro. And for a playstation site you are not very aware of playstation news. We already heard news that japanese youtubers have gottten Ps5 to discuss the UI and other aspects in the next week or two. Well american youtubers have also confirmed they have Ps5s now as well. So we will know all we need to know soon enough. But the most important thing is Sony has never released a sub par playstation. It will be top quality and it will be innovative in many ways. So I recommend switching to decaf or popping a valium Sammy, but worry not all you need to know is coming soon!

Sometimes I really wonder if this a playstation site. Always negative. I'm glad it looks different. I think it looks modern and appealing. And if you can't figure how to fit a 15 inch x 9 inch console in your media center then the ps5 is the least of your problems!
I am one of the biggest playstation fans. And a big reason for that is that Sony respects it's players, generally over delivers in terms of games and their quality, but most importantly never blatantly lied or mislead me as a consumer. Unlike many of the other scummy game companies like EA, Activision, Bethesda, and Ubisoft. This was a betrayal no doubt about it. They, like the aforementioned companies, were willing to tarnish their honor. And yes it is as serious as that. I'm always shocked how many companies and just people are will to besmirch their reputation and their word by lying or being shady. It's one of those things where once you sully your reputation it is impossible to get it back completely. Aside from from the lie, the other big thing is there is no doubt having to have a next gen game also work on a 7 year old system definitely holds it back. I don't care what they say. They also completely lied about pre orders. They laughingly said oh we will give you plenty of time to prepare for pre orders. That was a complete lie. Not cool. The worst was when it seemed like Demon's Souls was going to be day and date on pc. Then Jeff Grub said it was also going to come to series x later!!. I was furious. It's bad enough they lied. But overall I thought the games and prices were fantastic and will try to get one at launch. Sony needs to understand your word is more important than greed. Unadulterated greed is not a good look!
Actually Liam if you read the latest interview from the developers they said it was a conscious choice and it was not a result of budget or time. Frankly I think it looks fine and to suggest as you guys did earlier it looks barely better than the ps2 is just frankly hyperbolic nonsense. As long as it is as fun to play as before then I'm in. Sometimes I wonder if this is a playstation enthusiast site. It doesn't mean you can't criticize things but the way your ragging on this doesn't really seem worthwhile. It would have been nice to see some of this criticism toward TLOU 2 which profoundly deserved it. Which they can't give away right now btw. I've always wanted it. Don't know what you are talking about. The june 11th trailer looked great too, it just had a rap song that didn't go with it. The follow up 9 minute gameplay video I thought looked great as well. But I was sold from the get go as this is a complete game, no dlc. But most importantly no microtransactions! And we need to speak with our dollars and support games and companies that choose this pro consumer route. And yes this most recent trailer looks amazing and the music is perfect!

@Cybrshrk First of all nobody hated on the Ps Pro because they lied about it being 4k. Nor is it pretend 4k. There were a fair amount of games that ran native 4k, like The Last of Us remake. And checkerboard rendering is not pretend. It is actually in 4k. It is using a technique to fill in the gaps. And you know what, it looks great. Sony has a wide breadth of first party studios that create a ton of different game experiences. We have God of War, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Then there are games like Dreams and Concrete Genie and The Last Guardian. Then we have sports games like Gran Turismo and MLB baseball. Then we have horror games like Until Dawn and Bloodborne. Then there are VR games Like Astrobot Rescue Mission, Blood and Truth, Rigs and Rush of Blood. Then we have the remakes like Shadow of Colossus and the Uncharted Trilogy. Then we have former vita games like Gravity Rush. Then we have all the previous generation first party games that people can play on Ps4. Still think it's the same 15% that play all those games? Get real. And that's not everything. There are many more. When you take every first party game into account i would venture that over 50% of playstation owners have played an exclusives. To say nothing of the third party exclusives. It's not a vocal minority. It's bare minimum a plurality of gamers possibly a majority who love and play exclusives. Also typical arrogant person who thinks their life is representative of the rest of the world. Well guess what all my friends have multiple first party exclusives.

It is more like an xbox1 pro. The Ps5 is 2.5x more powerful and has 61% more storage. The cost of the 1 TB proprietary memory cards leaked and it's going to be 220 bucks! That's insane! For a system that has virtually no compelling games for the forseeable future. And it will never have true exclusives and will only have "faux" exclusives 2 years from now at the earliest according to Microsoft. It's launch lineup is a joke. And all the stuff above applies to series x. The Ps5 on the other hand is going to be true next gen with new next gen controllers and 3D sound that will immerse gamers more than ever before. In addition the Ps5's revolutionary ssd/IO throughout is 2.3x faster than series x/s and will change the way games are made. But the most important thing about any platform are the games. And here Sony has the massive advantage. They have arguably the best first party studios in the business. In addition we know that according to Imran Kahn that Sony has made great deals with virtually all the top third party studios for exclusives and exclusive content/features. Protecting it's multi-billion dollar investment with these pro-consumer moves. Many he has described as shocking. Sony execs have also intimated the Ps5's launch lineup would be spectacular. We know already that exlusives Spiderman Miles Morales (excitement is through the roof fir this one), Godfall, and Rachet and Clank Rift Apart are launching at or within the window. It is also believed that Demon's Souls as well as Gran Turismo 7 will be in the launch time frame. All of which is to say Sony has learned from Ps3 and the prices are almost guaranteed to be 399 for the digital only and 499 for the disc version. The only question is whether Sony is going to go for the jugular and price the disc version at 449. The point is there is a reason why 87% of people are planning to get a Ps5 over an xbox series console. Not the least of which is that Microsoft couldn't care less if you buy a console or not as long as you get gamepass.
As frustrating as it is to be drip fed information this technique has caused excitement for the Ps5 to be at an all time high! People are ravenous for information. Unlike Microsoft which pretty much dumped all relevant info months ago (even series s is the worst kept "secret" of all time!) Sony still has much to share when it comes to games, a teardown, and secret relevant info devs have hinted at. Which has kept enthusiasm sky high. I remember at the beginning when everyone was like Microsoft is winning the next gen conversation by a mile and Sony was like haha, just wait. Frankly it has been brilliantly handled. And with leakers and Sony personnel intimating that the Ps5's launch line up would be absolutely stellar, it looks like another home run for Sony and fans! There is absolutely no reason to delay. That would be cruel and unusual punishment!
Housemarque for sure. Bluepoint definitely. I wanted them to get Remedy but it appears they made a deal with Epic. Since I have been playing their amazing Y's games since the tg-16 I would like them to get Falcom. Just to guarantee they stick around. Plus they make great games.

The only reason Tsushima dropped so much is because you literally cannot find a copy anywhere. Sony really screwed this up. Hiw could be so wrong about interest in this game?

But what they did was put a fake scene in the game to mislead consumers. It would be like Sony saying on the box the console is black in color but instead when you open it it's bright pink.
@Andyhunter132 Actually you are wrong. While the boycott of the game was never a serious thing. I would argue that the majority (over 50%) of people who bought this game despise it. The reason it sold so well is because the first game was so beloved. In addition they used false advertising to sell the game by showing you know who later in the game, when that was false. This is a legit crime and I really wish they would get sued for this. The second when people saw the disrespect for the characters and players of the first game, sales tanked. And yes I know sales dropping a large amount is normal in tge second week. But this exceeded normal drop rates with an 80% drop in the U.S. and 85% in Japan. Furthermore it continued to tank week after week. In Japan and all the Asian countries they hate this game. If you look on shelves throughout the world there are tons of copies sitting on shelves. I also guarantee at least 25 to 33% of thise initial sales were returned immediately. This game will never pass Spiderman or God of War.
I am really getting tired of people whining about this issue specifically here but in general as well. And frankly I don't get it. This argument that it's anti-consumer or that everyone should just have the right to content across competing platforms is preposterous. What Sony has done is the epitome of pro consumer. That is adding content for those who have already bought (consumed) the playstation brand. I should also note thst xbox and P.C. players are getting the complete game. They are not missing any part of it. The Spiderman content is bonus content. And as I said this idea that everyone is entitled to all content even on competing platforms is patently ridiculous. That's like saying because there is Bose sound system in a Lexus then it should have to be in a Corolla or Kia. If you want to be upset xbox players be mad at Microsoft for being so cheap when they have the money. They could have easily done the same thing, but chose not to. @__jamiie I was blown away by the first two games by Fumito Ueda Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Both of those games were the epitome of what makes video games such an amazing art form. The singular style, starkness, and visions of those two games really stick out in my mind. Another one of course has to be the Witcher 3. The overall quality and breadth of that game truly blew me away. The game never ceased to amaze me. Believe it or not Astro Bot Rescue Mission. Like you I truly love my PSVR. I was shocked how good it was. I think I had a smile on my face from start to finish. The game in my opinion was as good as any Mario game. The first time I played Resident Evil 4 I was blown away with how well they updated the formula and how the quality continued throughout the 20 hour campaign. I was also a big fan of Until Dawn. I thought it was a great horror game and the myriad ways your choices affected the outcome was well implemented. Finally I really enjoyed Persona 5. I am a big fan of Jrpg's and Persona 5 was amazing. The gameplay and style was top notch. Off the top of my head those are some of my top games.

You mentioned in some other comment that you are old enough to remember the jump from 8-bit to 16-bit. I am too. Which is why the 16 bit era is probably my favorite. Just as much as the ps4, I play on my rgb modded pc engine duo-r. Anyhow it may not be as readily apparent, but I believe the jump from Ps4 to Ps5 will be as big. Especially when all things are taken into account. You mentioned what developers want is different than what gamers want. I kindly disagree. I think they both align. When developers get the tools they want to enable them to more easily create their vision, this more than likely leads to satisfied gamers. And it's not just about loading times per se. With ssd being so fast developers can change the way they design games. This obviously is not going to be as evident in the first generation of next gen games. But it will be soon enough. Then with all the immersion enhancing features on the dualsense and the 3D sound from the tempest engine the feeling of presence will jump exponentially. Anyway you asked what game could not be replicated on current gen. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. The jump between dimensions simply could not be done. But I am also not as dismissive of the increased graphics as you either. The increase in density on screen with next gen has been very noticable. But again some of the best features can't be felt from videos like the 3d sound and dualsense. To me that's enough. If it's not for you that's cool. Wait until something strikes your fancy then. Ok? Unlike Microsoft who just thought in an evolutionary, bigger and better kind of way. Sony and Cerny wanted to create something truly revolutionary. A system created from the ground up to take gaming to a highest level of immersion and fun. To that end Sony endeavored to change the way games are created by exponentially increasing SSD/Io throughput speeds to industry leading levels. In addition they are also trying to achieve industry leading 3d sound with the tempest engine. Promising several hundred different noticable sound points uniquely tailored to each person. Next we have the revolutionary dualsense controllers. With adaptive triggers and and next generation haptic feedback we will feel connected to the game world like never before. The dualsense looks to lead the industry again with it's create button and microphone. The Ps5 has also been built with extra silicon to eliminate bottkenecks. It has also been rumored that the geometry engine in Ps5 is taken from RDNA 3. And finally the icing on the cake is it looks like Sony has tried to create something similar to DLSS. Which uses machine learning to super sample graphics. This has been hinted at being baked into the Ps5. Meaning a game can look identical to 4k and even better but the costs on the GPU are only modest. All of which is to say we are very lucky to have a game company that takes console gaming so seriously. Combined with it's roster of top notch game developers, the playstation is looking like one of the best, if not the best place in the world to play.

Sony unlike Microsoft doesn't have to essentially bribe people to their side, because they have taken the time to create a diverse stable of game developers which they have nurtured to become some of the best in the industry. Sony is also a company that is thought of highly in eyes of consumers as it is known for quality and innovation. The playstation brand in particular is number 2 in how highly it is thought of among it's customers. Xbox has none of that. It continues to disappoint it's player base year after year. @KratosMD Which is exactly what I have been saying game pass would do. Lower the perceived value of games to it's customers. Games take many years and millions of dollars to make and now Mucrosoft is essentially giving them away. I myself like to support my hobby and the developers who make the games I love. I have no problem paying 60 bucks to do that. That's why I think Ps Now is better. First of all you get almost 1000 games, over 100 downloadable now. Secondly instead of devaluing games by giving multiple new release 60 dollar games away for 9.99 to 14.99 a month, you are putting a spotlight on some slightly older as well as independent games. So instead of devaluing games Ps Now is reinvigorating interest in them.

All they showed were cinematic teaser trailers that aside from being unimpressive gave no idea what the game would be like. In edition they showcased like 4 or 5 current gen games. The event was so bad even dominoes pizza mocked them.
I have been saying for months that tflops are meaningless and that the narrative that series x was the more powerful system was wrong. The Ps5 was built from the groundup to eliminate bottlebecks. To that end it has a bunch of extra silicon not present on series x. Then of course there is the industry leading ssd/Io throughput which is 2.3 times faster than series x. Despite what ignorant people think, the ssd/Io is not just for eliminating load tines, rather it is a fundamental component of cobsole perfirmance. In addition tge tempest 3D sound chip is a modified Cu as powerful as a ps4. Aside from freeing up the Cpu from sound production, it can also be used for graphics and other computations. Many developers have confirmed this. So when all bottlenecks are accounted for and it's other hardware advantages utilized, the Ps5 has superior performance and power. And the games demonstrated that today. This was Microsoft's chance to try and upstage Sony and they failed miserably. Unlike Sony, Microsift just dies not know hiw to put on a good show or what their fans want. Aside from a few exceptions most games were cinematic teaser trailers. Short and unimoressive. They also showed too many current gen games and filler nobody wanted see. Like hellblade being in iceland and how there was a a scouting location vudeo about it. People wanted to see new gameplay trailers. If Sony has another successful ahow in August then this vattke is almost over before it even staryed. Not that it matters. It is obviius Micrisoft doesn't care about conaoles anymore. Their ficus is getting game pass on every platform. Mark my words Microsoft will not make another console next gen. @cayal First of all I'm not crying about it bud. I'm pointing it out. It is not the main issue but one of many that I feel detracts from this game. Why is it an issue? Well let's see because it is forcing identity politcs into a game in a purposely divisive manner. Neil Druckmann admitted he was greatly influenced by Anita Sarkeesian. A woman who chooses to sees sexism, misogyny , and toxic masculinity in virtually every game. Which just isn't the case. Druckmann said he wanted to right a wrong with this game. And that's the issue. The game was made with an agenda. Not the story and characters first, but the agenda. And yes it would be an issue for me if the creator of a game said his purpose was to make sure most female characters were killed because he wanted to push a masculine agenda. In service to the agenda they did what they did to a beloved character in such a crappy way. And changed Elle from a plucky, kind, appreciative character to frankly an unlikable jerk. This is the reason virtually everyone is loving Tsushima, because it is an extremely well made game sans an agenda.

I am always confused by this. Why do people think they should infinitely get free upgrades to a game no matter how much extra money and work were put into it? Hey Honda I bought an accord in 2016 can I get my free upgrade to the 2020 model? It makes no sense. Just because Microsoft got destroyed last gen now they have to play catch up by giving games and upgrades away free to ingratiate themselves with gamers. Same with gamepass. The only thing I think to gripe about is not bring able to buy it stand alone or a physical edition. Other than that I think Sony doing it on a case by case basis is correct whike allowing third party companies to do the same. I should note that unsurprisingly Sammy is crapping on Sony again. @themightyant That's great you feel that way. But they are not just games we are talking about. There are corporations that make the games and hardware. And frankly I do not like Microsoft as a company. But most importantly I don't like their ecosystem, their aesthetic, nor their plans for the industry that I love. I much prefer the japanese aesthetic and type of games and game developers that Sony has grown. While gamepass may seem like a great value it comes at a cost. Videogames take millions of dollars to make, and many, many, years of hard work and passion. So when Microsoft releases new games day and date it devalues games in the minds of many consumers. This will particularly hurt indy game developers and publishers. When you have a small 15 person studio that worked their butt off for years and spent their life's savings to make a game. Their game may not sell as well because Microsoft charges betwen 1 and 15 dollars to play multiple 60 plus dollar games. They know that the amount they should get is 30 bucks, but gamepass is definitely going to affect their ability to get a fair value for their game because Microsoft is such a rich company they can give their games away for peanuts. To me Ps Now is superior because it does the opposite of gamepass. Instead of devaluing nee games it brings a spotlight onto older ganes that may have been overlooked. Finally I'm glad you're console agnostic but you are no better than someone who prefers and enjoys one console or ecosystem.

As I have said multiple times this, is often times one of the worst enthusiast websites there is. Constantly negative about playstation. Nitpicky about lame issues. Yes Sammy you do sound like a whiney baby. Yes obviously COVID has played a huge part in why Sony has done things this way. But seriously is it that imperative that you know how the UI operates months before it is released? No you do not. As far as the backward compatability is concerned it is not that difficult to figure out Sammy. The Ps4 games will just play when you put them in. To utilize the Ps5 hardware benefits on Ps4 games you will likely just enable the boost mode like on Ps4 Pro. And for a playstation site you are not very aware of playstation news. We already heard news that japanese youtubers have gottten Ps5 to discuss the UI and other aspects in the next week or two. Well american youtubers have also confirmed they have Ps5s now as well. So we will know all we need to know soon enough. But the most important thing is Sony has never released a sub par playstation. It will be top quality and it will be innovative in many ways. So I recommend switching to decaf or popping a valium Sammy, but worry not all you need to know is coming soon!

And if you genuinely want to see nothing new look at the new xboxes. But honestly it is about the games and since Sony has some of the best first party studios as well as the best deals with third party companies, the Ps5 will again be the best place to play.

I am one of the biggest playstation fans. And a big reason for that is that Sony respects it's players, generally over delivers in terms of games and their quality, but most importantly never blatantly lied or mislead me as a consumer. Unlike many of the other scummy game companies like EA, Activision, Bethesda, and Ubisoft. This was a betrayal no doubt about it. They, like the aforementioned companies, were willing to tarnish their honor. And yes it is as serious as that. I'm always shocked how many companies and just people are will to besmirch their reputation and their word by lying or being shady. It's one of those things where once you sully your reputation it is impossible to get it back completely. Aside from from the lie, the other big thing is there is no doubt having to have a next gen game also work on a 7 year old system definitely holds it back. I don't care what they say. They also completely lied about pre orders. They laughingly said oh we will give you plenty of time to prepare for pre orders. That was a complete lie. Not cool. The worst was when it seemed like Demon's Souls was going to be day and date on pc. Then Jeff Grub said it was also going to come to series x later!!. I was furious. It's bad enough they lied. But overall I thought the games and prices were fantastic and will try to get one at launch. Sony needs to understand your word is more important than greed. Unadulterated greed is not a good look!

Actually Liam if you read the latest interview from the developers they said it was a conscious choice and it was not a result of budget or time. Frankly I think it looks fine and to suggest as you guys did earlier it looks barely better than the ps2 is just frankly hyperbolic nonsense. As long as it is as fun to play as before then I'm in. Sometimes I wonder if this is a playstation enthusiast site. It doesn't mean you can't criticize things but the way your ragging on this doesn't really seem worthwhile. It would have been nice to see some of this criticism toward TLOU 2 which profoundly deserved it. Which they can't give away right now btw. The follow up 9 minute gameplay video I thought looked great as well. But I was sold from the get go as this is a complete game, no dlc. But most importantly no microtransactions! And we need to speak with our dollars and support games and companies that choose this pro consumer route. And yes this most recent trailer looks amazing and the music is perfect!

Sony has a wide breadth of first party studios that create a ton of different game experiences. We have God of War, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Then there are games like Dreams and Concrete Genie and The Last Guardian. Then we have sports games like Gran Turismo and MLB baseball. Then we have horror games like Until Dawn and Bloodborne. Then there are VR games Like Astrobot Rescue Mission, Blood and Truth, Rigs and Rush of Blood. Then we have the remakes like Shadow of Colossus and the Uncharted Trilogy. Then we have former vita games like Gravity Rush. Then we have all the previous generation first party games that people can play on Ps4. Still think it's the same 15% that play all those games? Get real. And that's not everything. There are many more. When you take every first party game into account i would venture that over 50% of playstation owners have played an exclusives. To say nothing of the third party exclusives. It's not a vocal minority. It's bare minimum a plurality of gamers possibly a majority who love and play exclusives. Also typical arrogant person who thinks their life is representative of the rest of the world. Well guess what all my friends have multiple first party exclusives.

It is more like an xbox1 pro. The Ps5 is 2.5x more powerful and has 61% more storage. The cost of the 1 TB proprietary memory cards leaked and it's going to be 220 bucks! That's insane! For a system that has virtually no compelling games for the forseeable future. And it will never have true exclusives and will only have "faux" exclusives 2 years from now at the earliest according to Microsoft. It's launch lineup is a joke. And all the stuff above applies to series x. The Ps5 on the other hand is going to be true next gen with new next gen controllers and 3D sound that will immerse gamers more than ever before. In addition the Ps5's revolutionary ssd/IO throughout is 2.3x faster than series x/s and will change the way games are made. But the most important thing about any platform are the games. And here Sony has the massive advantage. They have arguably the best first party studios in the business. In addition we know that according to Imran Kahn that Sony has made great deals with virtually all the top third party studios for exclusives and exclusive content/features. Protecting it's multi-billion dollar investment with these pro-consumer moves. Many he has described as shocking. Sony execs have also intimated the Ps5's launch lineup would be spectacular. We know already that exlusives Spiderman Miles Morales (excitement is through the roof fir this one), Godfall, and Rachet and Clank Rift Apart are launching at or within the window. It is also believed that Demon's Souls as well as Gran Turismo 7 will be in the launch time frame. All of which is to say Sony has learned from Ps3 and the prices are almost guaranteed to be 399 for the digital only and 499 for the disc version. The only question is whether Sony is going to go for the jugular and price the disc version at 449. The point is there is a reason why 87% of people are planning to get a Ps5 over an xbox series console. Not the least of which is that Microsoft couldn't care less if you buy a console or not as long as you get gamepass.

As frustrating as it is to be drip fed information this technique has caused excitement for the Ps5 to be at an all time high! People are ravenous for information. Unlike Microsoft which pretty much dumped all relevant info months ago (even series s is the worst kept "secret" of all time!) Sony still has much to share when it comes to games, a teardown, and secret relevant info devs have hinted at. Which has kept enthusiasm sky high. I remember at the beginning when everyone was like Microsoft is winning the next gen conversation by a mile and Sony was like haha, just wait. Frankly it has been brilliantly handled. And with leakers and Sony personnel intimating that the Ps5's launch line up would be absolutely stellar, it looks like another home run for Sony and fans! There is absolutely no reason to delay. That would be cruel and unusual punishment!

@Andyhunter132 Actually you are wrong. While the boycott of the game was never a serious thing. I would argue that the majority (over 50%) of people who bought this game despise it. The reason it sold so well is because the first game was so beloved. In addition they used false advertising to sell the game by showing you know who later in the game, when that was false. This is a legit crime and I really wish they would get sued for this. The second when people saw the disrespect for the characters and players of the first game, sales tanked. And yes I know sales dropping a large amount is normal in tge second week. But this exceeded normal drop rates with an 80% drop in the U.S. and 85% in Japan. Furthermore it continued to tank week after week. In Japan and all the Asian countries they hate this game. If you look on shelves throughout the world there are tons of copies sitting on shelves. I also guarantee at least 25 to 33% of thise initial sales were returned immediately. This game will never pass Spiderman or God of War.

I am really getting tired of people whining about this issue specifically here but in general as well. And frankly I don't get it. This argument that it's anti-consumer or that everyone should just have the right to content across competing platforms is preposterous. What Sony has done is the epitome of pro consumer. That is adding content for those who have already bought (consumed) the playstation brand. I should also note thst xbox and P.C. players are getting the complete game. They are not missing any part of it. The Spiderman content is bonus content. And as I said this idea that everyone is entitled to all content even on competing platforms is patently ridiculous. That's like saying because there is Bose sound system in a Lexus then it should have to be in a Corolla or Kia. If you want to be upset xbox players be mad at Microsoft for being so cheap when they have the money. They could have easily done the same thing, but chose not to. @__jamiie I was blown away by the first two games by Fumito Ueda Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Both of those games were the epitome of what makes video games such an amazing art form. The singular style, starkness, and visions of those two games really stick out in my mind. Another one of course has to be the Witcher 3. The overall quality and breadth of that game truly blew me away. The game never ceased to amaze me. Believe it or not Astro Bot Rescue Mission. Like you I truly love my PSVR. I was shocked how good it was. I think I had a smile on my face from start to finish. The game in my opinion was as good as any Mario game. The first time I played Resident Evil 4 I was blown away with how well they updated the formula and how the quality continued throughout the 20 hour campaign. I was also a big fan of Until Dawn. I thought it was a great horror game and the myriad ways your choices affected the outcome was well implemented. Finally I really enjoyed Persona 5. I am a big fan of Jrpg's and Persona 5 was amazing. The gameplay and style was top notch. Off the top of my head those are some of my top games.

You mentioned in some other comment that you are old enough to remember the jump from 8-bit to 16-bit. I am too. Which is why the 16 bit era is probably my favorite. Just as much as the ps4, I play on my rgb modded pc engine duo-r. Anyhow it may not be as readily apparent, but I believe the jump from Ps4 to Ps5 will be as big. Especially when all things are taken into account. You mentioned what developers want is different than what gamers want. I kindly disagree. I think they both align. When developers get the tools they want to enable them to more easily create their vision, this more than likely leads to satisfied gamers. And it's not just about loading times per se. With ssd being so fast developers can change the way they design games. This obviously is not going to be as evident in the first generation of next gen games. But it will be soon enough. Then with all the immersion enhancing features on the dualsense and the 3D sound from the tempest engine the feeling of presence will jump exponentially. Anyway you asked what game could not be replicated on current gen. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. The jump between dimensions simply could not be done. But I am also not as dismissive of the increased graphics as you either. The increase in density on screen with next gen has been very noticable. But again some of the best features can't be felt from videos like the 3d sound and dualsense. To me that's enough. If it's not for you that's cool. Wait until something strikes your fancy then. Ok? Then we have the tempest engine which looks to create the best 3D sound on the market. Which can be heard on regular speakers and not just headphones. And as I mentioned it looks like Sony had created their own version of DLSS which will be baked into the Ps5. Which allows it to show high resolutions at low cost to the hardware. And finally it is easy to optimize for developers. But as someone who is not a developer you really don't know what your talking about. I'm sorry you seem salty about how amazing Sony made the Ps5. With Mark Cerny at the helm. A true industry giant and game changer who has already accomplished more than most people in the industry. The Ps5 however is looking to be his crowning achievement. Unlike Microsoft who just thought in an evolutionary, bigger and better kind of way. Sony and Cerny wanted to create something truly revolutionary. A system created from the ground up to take gaming to a highest level of immersion and fun. To that end Sony endeavored to change the way games are created by exponentially increasing SSD/Io throughput speeds to industry leading levels. In addition they are also trying to achieve industry leading 3d sound with the tempest engine. Promising several hundred different noticable sound points uniquely tailored to each person. Next we have the revolutionary dualsense controllers. With adaptive triggers and and next generation haptic feedback we will feel connected to the game world like never before. The dualsense looks to lead the industry again with it's create button and microphone. The Ps5 has also been built with extra silicon to eliminate bottkenecks. It has also been rumored that the geometry engine in Ps5 is taken from RDNA 3. And finally the icing on the cake is it looks like Sony has tried to create something similar to DLSS. Which uses machine learning to super sample graphics. This has been hinted at being baked into the Ps5. Meaning a game can look identical to 4k and even better but the costs on the GPU are only modest. All of which is to say we are very lucky to have a game company that takes console gaming so seriously. @KratosMD Which is exactly what I have been saying game pass would do. Lower the perceived value of games to it's customers. Games take many years and millions of dollars to make and now Mucrosoft is essentially giving them away. I myself like to support my hobby and the developers who make the games I love. I have no problem paying 60 bucks to do that. That's why I think Ps Now is better. First of all you get almost 1000 games, over 100 downloadable now. Secondly instead of devaluing games by giving multiple new release 60 dollar games away for 9.99 to 14.99 a month, you are putting a spotlight on some slightly older as well as independent games. So instead of devaluing games Ps Now is reinvigorating interest in them.

I have been saying for months that tflops are meaningless and that the narrative that series x was the more powerful system was wrong. The Ps5 was built from the groundup to eliminate bottlebecks. To that end it has a bunch of extra silicon not present on series x. Then of course there is the industry leading ssd/Io throughput which is 2.3 times faster than series x. Despite what ignorant people think, the ssd/Io is not just for eliminating load tines, rather it is a fundamental component of cobsole perfirmance. In addition tge tempest 3D sound chip is a modified Cu as powerful as a ps4. Aside from freeing up the Cpu from sound production, it can also be used for graphics and other computations. Many developers have confirmed this. So when all bottlenecks are accounted for and it's other hardware advantages utilized, the Ps5 has superior performance and power. And the games demonstrated that today. This was Microsoft's chance to try and upstage Sony and they failed miserably. Unlike Sony, Microsift just dies not know hiw to put on a good show or what their fans want. Aside from a few exceptions most games were cinematic teaser trailers. Short and unimoressive. They also showed too many current gen games and filler nobody wanted see. Like hellblade being in iceland and how there was a a scouting location vudeo about it. People wanted to see new gameplay trailers. If Sony has another successful ahow in August then this vattke is almost over before it even staryed. Not that it matters. It is obviius Micrisoft doesn't care about conaoles anymore. Their ficus is getting game pass on every platform. Mark my words Microsoft will not make another console next gen. Instead the xbox brand like netflix will be a service on Ps6, nintendo, mobile, and pc.

Nor do I care about the ratio of the genders in game. The issue is when makers of a game decide to be divisive by purposely putting identity politics in a game to push an agenda. Which is what Druckmann and the team at Naughty Dog said they did. But as I said that was not even a big issue for me. It was just one of many. As for the leanings of game journalists, I just stated a fact. Please point me in the direction of a non left leaning game site. Why is it that you people always think your opinion is fact. @cayal First of all I'm not crying about it bud. I'm pointing it out. It is not the main issue but one of many that I feel detracts from this game. Why is it an issue? Well let's see because it is forcing identity politcs into a game in a purposely divisive manner. Neil Druckmann admitted he was greatly influenced by Anita Sarkeesian. A woman who chooses to sees sexism, misogyny , and toxic masculinity in virtually every game. Which just isn't the case. Druckmann said he wanted to right a wrong with this game. And that's the issue. The game was made with an agenda. Not the story and characters first, but the agenda. And yes it would be an issue for me if the creator of a game said his purpose was to make sure most female characters were killed because he wanted to push a masculine agenda. In service to the agenda they did what they did to a beloved character in such a crappy way. And changed Elle from a plucky, kind, appreciative character to frankly an unlikable jerk. This is the reason virtually everyone is loving Tsushima, because it is an extremely well made game sans an agenda.

@InvaderJim Whether you or Push square want to admit it there was a large amount of people who didn't like the game. And no it's not because we didn't get it or because we are bigots. The game was made purposely divisive. Admittedly so by the developers. What is it with you people who loved the game and not being able to handle people not liking the game? I don't reply to your praise to rain on your parade about the game. But I am alliowed my opinion. First of all I didn't say no female characters died. But the main ones do Elle, Abby, Dina, Lily/Lev. Oh all the significant male characters don't die huh? Tell me what significant male character lives then?
