If you've been waiting on Sony to restock some of its more elusive DualShock 4 designs, then you're in luck. This month, it's bringing back a bunch of colourful controllers globally, including Berry Blue, Red Camouflage, Rose Gold, and Steel Black. The Japanese giant says that you'll have to check availability at your local shops, but hey, it's better than nothing.
We'd love to know how much money Sony's made from PS4 pad sales over the course of this generation -- especially since the bloody things never seem to drop in price. It's released over 25 different designs, but it's worth reiterating the recent (and rather unsurprising) news that none of them will work with PS5 games.

As stupid as it sounds, I might actually buy a new PS4 controller to use when playing PS4 games on PS5.
I already have a specific controller for my PS4 with PSVR set up and one for my normal daily PS4.
Maybe a purchase of one of these restocks is in order
I hope PS5 has a bunch of colors right at the start. I tend to buy 4 controllers right away and never need to buy more.
Although my joysticks are looking really bad after 7 years haha.
F in chat for Purple
Wonder if these will be plagued with the same joystick drift as last time. I bought two alpine green, both with the same issue. Really annoying. Thankfully i love the glacier whites i bought instead - which i guess set me up nicely for the look of the dualsense
Just bought a new white one myself because it makes Sense.
Meh. Bit late for me. I've got a regular black one and a purple one as backup (which I occasionally use for local multiplayer and, more often, PS Now on PC)
I got a white one with my Pro so probably won’t need to buy a new one. Plus it fits with the upcoming PS5.
I still haven't opened the sunset orange DS4 I got last black Friday free with my PS4 pro. I might get a berry blue if I can get it discounted this year.
@Rob_230 I had a horrible experience a couple of weeks back where I swapped out my usual controller for my old Alpine Green one and quickly realised the left analog stick drifts and has a bad deadzone. Must be a cursed colour. RIP.
Will probably pick up a couple more during Black Friday. I always regret not having enough new controllers laying around everytime we move on to the next generation.
@ShogunRok That is my favorite color actually, the Alpine Green. I missed it when it was originally released and have been looking at eBay but, the prices and the fact that they could be fake are making me think twice. It was a great color Alpine Green and I wish I could of picked one up when they were being manufactured.
@ShogunRok Wow! Sorry Rob! I saw a few people complaining about the same issue on Amazon reviews too! Seems like it really was a manufacturing issue with that particular controller. I was so disapointed as i had never bought a limited edition before and it kind of soured me on getting one again.
Of course, im sure its an easy fix, but im useless with tech. Im too scared to take my ps4 apart to clear out the dust, never mind play about with replacement sticks.
@Eadgar Yeah, eBay is a minefield when it comes to fake controllers — you're always taking a risk if you're not buying from a known retailer. It is a really nice looking controller, though.
@Rob_230 Wow, maybe it really is some kind of defect with that specific line. It's weird, all of the controllers I've gotten with consoles (original PS4, PS4 Pro, and another PS4 Pro) all still work perfectly.
Meanwhile, all the controllers I've bought separately (three of them) have all ended up with an issue over time. Really hope that the DualSense is a lot more robust in this regard.
I've have many iterations of the amazing DS4 controller but I can honestly say that my personal favorite & long lasting controller was my blue camo DS4.. unfortunately it died in me last month and I couldn't find it in stock anywhere so I settled on the midnight blue as my daily driver at the moment! IDK if it's just me but I feel like EVERY single DS4 that comes with my PS4 systems is of lesser quality than the color ways that are sold separately? I've owned a total of 4 PS4 consoles and 2 PS4 pro consoles and ALL of the controllers that came with the consoles lasted me less than 9 months. Hope the new dual sense will be BETTER in that regard, happy gaming my friends 😉💨✌️
@ShogunRok yeah, same. In fact going back, my PS1, 2 and 3 controllers packaged with their respective systems all still work to this day.
Dare i say we now live in an age where companies are choosing cheaper parts over a robust, long life product (just look at the switch and its joycon issue).
Fingers crossed as you say concerning the dualsense. I do have some concerns with Sony trying to double the number of systems produced for launch of the PS5 and the impact that could have on quality control. Hopefully nothing to worry about!!
The berry blue controller looks amazing.word up son
Rose gold is very tempting
I did get one when they originally released, best color, imo. Would buy another. @TechaNinja
We need alpine green!!!
I’ve wanted one of those berry blue controllers for ages. Gonna see if I can get my hands on one.
Got a Crystal before the prices went crazy.
No new hardware till the 3080 and PS5 price and dates come out.
No apine green!! Boo!!
I have both Crystal Red and Magma Red at home, so there is no need for another DS4. ☺️
@ApostateMage I see what you did there. Dual meaning
White color is the best for me.
Is it just me that thinks the DS4 is horribly unreliable? My white DS4 has thumbstick drift. My crystal's down directional button rarely works and my 3 month old green camo has a thumbstick that pushing forward often fails to make the character run in a way where they don't look like they're running through mud. My friend's controllers all four of them have charging issues. I love the design and it would be my favourite PlayStation controller were it not for the shocking build quality.
Love my orange & blue one
@Rob_230 just bought my son a brand new PS4 and the left stick drifts already on The Outer World's. It's fine in other games but had to set the dead zone to like 35% to counter it.
Got 2 Steel Black and 2 ordinary black DS4s and they're all still working perfectly.
Yes, Steel Black is my fave 'cos it's just so cool. Wonder if Sony could do a PS5 in the same colour scheme?
The newer PS4 controllers seem to be pretty poor quality build wise, Ive had a couple just develop faults after just a couple of weeks.. the older ones lasted much longer
