Re: Expect More PS5 Game Announcements Today

Diymhoshei

I think they are going to have a great show to be honest! If there is anything that looks good, i will pick it up on my PC and if they have a great show, it will only (or at least should) spur Sony on to better efforts. It's a win for all!

Re: Can You Get HBO Max on PS4?

Diymhoshei

I hope it, initially, fails. £15 is just too much if you have a couple of the other services! I already have Netflix, Prime and Disney+, and this one sounds very promising content wise. However £15 for this, £6.66 for Prime, £12 for Netflix and £6 for Disney+ is quite a lot of cash per month, on top of license fee at £14ish AND the t'internet £24. Not to mention the PS Now and Plus subs too!

I have just really depressed myself...

Re: There Are 36.3 Million PlayStation Plus Subscribers

Diymhoshei

To me, this shows that they can take a hit on the actual sale of the console and that might mean they have a more powerful PS5 coming than we expect? Let's say an average £40 a year for each subscriber, that's £1.5 billion a year just in subscriptions! And that figure will likely go up and up.

Re: Sony Offers Brief Comment on PS5

Diymhoshei

Did anyone see the successful Google gaming stream for Assassin's Creed Odyssey through Chrome? Have a look on Polygons website, it's quite an interesting read. I would like to think that Sony have the groundwork sorted, info from ps now etc, for when it does all go streaming and they aren't left lagging behind.

Re: Soapbox: After the Vita's Failure, Why Do People Now Want Console Games on the Go?

Diymhoshei

I had a Vita and sold it. The reason being I didn't really enjoy the watered down types of games it had. I also used to get bad cramp if i played it for more than 45mins at a time as it isn't the most ergonomic device ever made! If only they had moved that left stick..... But yeah, I believe the main reason is full fat games. The Switch is selling because it has full, console-like games, of the sort 'I' want, on the go and that is what I thought the Vita would have.

Re: Single Player Games Are Really Struggling Right Now

Diymhoshei

I don't think it is so much the offline single player format that is the issue. I believe it is the accessibility of the game that matters more.

I have a young family these days and say games go all online in the way they are currently designed, I would have to stop gaming. The reason being that I will not be able to compete with other gamers PvP, due to insufficient time to spend gaming and getting good. Or MMO's were you need to have people all set up and ready to plough in 3hrs straight, with no interruptions to do dungeons etc. I have good friends but they are either in the same situation as me or living free but either way they are not going to sit there with controller in hand waiting for my call to game!

I'm sure many of you are in the same boat, but that sort of commitment isn't feasible to me anymore. I wish it was sometimes but it just isn't!

So they need to develop an online game where you are not held back or punished or whatever, if you are not able to game 3-5hrs a night like I used to. Or have an entirely single player game that is an online game where you can go through it at a snails/my pace and still be involved! Not entirely sure how they would do that but it must be possible?!

Anyways those are some of my thoughts on online only type games, sorry for going off on a tangent!

Re: Soapbox: Open World OCD - How Too Much Content Can Ruin a Game

Diymhoshei

Absolutely agree with this! A few people have mentioned this before, but more effort into the actual world would be great. By that I mean, not making white picket fences unassailable or being unable to get past a wooden door when you have a RPG strapped to your back or even an axe!! Just improve the immersion. I am sort of looking forward to playing AC Origins, imagine if they actually got the assassination part of the game down to a tee...., but those games are 70% filler and I ain't got time for that anymore.

Re: PlayStation Plus Prices Are Increasing in UK and Europe Next Month

Diymhoshei

It is never nice to have to pay more but....£10 a year divided by 12 = £0.83p increase per month, I can barely get a Freddo for that these days!
If the games continue to improve and stay that way, then that's a pretty fair price to me. Also, most people will likely pay less than the asking price anyway, like we do now.

Re: E3 2017: Days Gone Is a Deadly, Dynamic Open World Game

Diymhoshei

@NinjaWaddleDee I know what you mean! Don't get me wrong, I love an open world game but I think the market has become saturated by them recently and a good old linear, story driven game is becoming rarer and rarer. Nothing wrong being led by the nose if the game is good un!

Re: Round Up: Injustice 2 PS4 Reviews Fly Super High

Diymhoshei

I'm interested but Tekken 7 interests me more.

On a side note, wouldn't a proper SF story mode along the lines of the anime Street Fighter The Animated Movie (one of the best Manga's IMO), be the bee's knee's?! Imagine a Street Fighter RPG, where you travel the world, learning new techniques, hunting for fighters and trying to destroy or takeover Shadaloo....

Re: Reaction: Will Sony Be Scared of the Xbox Scorpio?

Diymhoshei

Sony aren't worried. As most of you on here are, I'm massively into me games. Games being the main word. MS, at the moment anyway, do not have any games that have even made me turn my head. So unless they show some seriously impressive IP's at E3, they will fail. And that fact would apply to Sony too, if their roles were reversed.

Re: Review: Persona 5 (PS4)

Diymhoshei

I played P4G on my Vita and I sold it after a week of trying my hardest to like it. I really want to get excited for this but I can't!
Ah well, just finished FF XV and going to buy HZD very soon, so I will be OK! Will probably still get this in a mega sale at some point though, just to make sure I'm not missing out.

Re: PS4 Sales Triple in UK Following Pro Launch

Diymhoshei

@get2sammyb I would completely agree with you, a few frames is nothing to moan about. However, I feel this Pro iteration should be performing better in ALL respects, otherwise why the upgrade? I am sure that these small 'issues' will be fixed soon though. But any bad press is bad press and Sony really don't need something this minor to drop sales if, as I mentioned before, the average consumer starts hearing about performance issues. But I still want one and I am currently trying to persuade the missus!

Re: PS4 Sales Triple in UK Following Pro Launch

Diymhoshei

I think the sales will slow if they don't address the performance issues that DF have been talking about. If word starts to get to the average consumer on the street, it may hurt sales over the holiday period. I still want one though!

Re: Microsoft Didn't Expect Sony to Ditch 4K Blu-ray Either

Diymhoshei

If I get one, I very much doubt I would use it for UHD BD. I have watched one BD film on my PS4 and it was a friends that I had borrowed!

I used to be a bit of a DVD whore back in the day but the price of a BD movie and the massive price (to me) of UHD BD's means I would never buy them anyway. Sony should still have offered the option though, I reckon around £400 for the UHD drive version.
