@Saiorus nah it’s been proven with 3rd Party games. The Japanese market don’t like redundant ports only a small niche will buy it. For example Monster Hunter Double Cross (XX). On 3DS it sold 1.8ish Million copies. Switch it sold like 200K why is this? Cus the Japanese consumers already have it on 3DS.

Dragon Quest XI S I can see that ver not selling as well as either the 3DS or PS4 ver because it’s redundant, it already came out on PS4/3DS. Now if DQXII comes out on Switch & PS4 Same day I can see the Switch ver Selling lots of copies or let’s pretend FFXVI came to Switch & PS4 then I think you get my point.

If MHW Iceborne was a separate expansion game I can see that topping PS4 overwhelmingly.

@rjejr ya know tho if Capcom made MHW: Iceborne a separate SKU and not DLC (ala previous games) then for about a month or til PokéSwitch unless Pokémon is right next to it or something. The PS4 would stand tall in Japan for a while.

I think only title I can think of to boost PS4 again in Japan is Sekiro: SDT.

@Lando_ things actually will turn around when Kingdom Hearts 3 hits. Also rn PS4 still is the best selling Console in the 8th gen in Japan (if you don’t count Handhelds cus then 3DS is the best selling)

RE2R or KH3 will prob change tides temporarily in Japan. At least temporarily til Animal Crossing Switch hits then well... back to Nintendo

@toffeecrit well when Monster Hunter World came out the PS4 was top dog on both Software & Hardware consistently for a month and it may be top dog again when DMC V or RE2R hits if not then Kingdom Hearts 3 as the Japanese do love KH.

I think PlayStation Directs is a step up & cheap but I guess to an extent it’d feel like a disconnect

Blog is def a dull way to do it simple and cheap but shrugs...

Meeting & Experience are expensive ways to do it and prob the Sony way of doing things...

I’d love a livestream competition between some people at PS Towers! I’m sure it’d be up there in competition as a group of friends playing your Mario Partys/Super Smash Bros/Street Fighter/Tekken/etc.

@Porco it’ll prob be a DLC for P5 prob $10-$20. Switch owners gotta pay the full $60... I wonder if it’ll come w all costumes and extra Personas included (even if that makes the game incredibly easy but hey this could be some people’s first Persona game)...
