Is this going to be another Beyond Good and Evil 2 scenario?

I want so badly a return to raiding Tombs and solving puzzles. The new games were not the same.

The way GoW 2018 was created with a one-shot-camera was incredibly immersive for sn reasons incredible game.

Just give me the sequel already. If it us just as good as the 2018 gane, it will already be one of the best games ever made.

Queue all the raging fanboys who stick up for Sony no matter what they do. With Microsoft owning Bethesda, abd the potential for lots of exclusive games, free upgrades and Gamepass, Sony are making Microsoft look like a better option this gen. Sony are trying to pull a Nintendo and overcharge people for everything this gen.

Just give me Dolby Atmos already

Dragon Quest XI S was the best JRPG since Skies of Arcadia. It was incredible because it was so traditional. The fact it stuck to its roots made it feel fresh as such games are very rarely released now. I hope they do not Westernise it, then bastardise it like they have the FF franchise. I am hoping it is still turn based and traditional. Fingers crossed.

I think E3 could be great, but the problem is the games. The release of big games were huge events. We would hear of them years before release and even see them in early development alongside lots of theatrics. However because if the indie scene releasing hundreds if not thousands of games a year, big publishers playing it safe and bastardizing their franchises (e.g. Squeenix with FF), and just relentless sequels to existing average franchises, it has taken a lot away from it. It just seems that game companies are out to make money now, and no one is making games out of passion anymore. The Last great E3 I csn remember is when Sony announced FF7 remake, Shenfield 3 and brought back The Last Guardian. E3 was for the core gaming geeks, now it is just a "me-too" event.

I did like the Metroid Dread announcement from Nintndo. 19 years in the making that game.

I would have loved to see a reboot taking Tomb Raider games back to their puzzling and Tomb Raider roots.

Thank God they are taking time to give this timeless classic the remake it deserves. It was looking hideous, which is not acceptable for one of the most beautifully designed games for its time.

Skies of Arcadia. Not only is it the best JRPG ever made in my opinion, it is the very best game to ever come from SEGA

The thought of Microsoft buying Squeenix scares me, as every studio they buy ends up turning to ***** every e.g. Rare, Lionhead, Bizarre Creations, or ends up just releasing the same generic shooters like Gears over and over.

It absolutely gets better after the blimp level, which was awful. However, the Mudokon AI is what makes this game worse. The should have kept it simple and made it a similar remake in the same vein as New'n'Tasty was for the original, with the funny Gamespeak and amazing puzzles.

In all fairness, it wouldn't be so hard to outsell any of them in the UK.

It has to be different. Just like translating a book to film, some parts of a game are not going to translate to a Film/TV show

I played it to the end the first time, but then couldn't get through the 2nd time when it became even harder with less retries.

I thought it was an early April Fools joke. What is going on with all the publishers and their awful showcases. First it was the rubbish Nintendo Direct, then the Sony livestream, and now this pish.

I mean where is the return to her roots game for the 25th anniversary, or even a Tomb Raider 2 remake. I was really thoroughly disappointed.

Demon's Souls requires online play to get a Platinum also...

Apart from Oddworld Soulstorm being free (and it is going to be amazing), and Kena, nothing else was really that great.

After the utterly abysmal Nintendo Direct, I want Sony to show Nintendo how to appeal to long term fans.

As long as the keep giving core gamers fully fledged gaming experiences like God of War, Demon's Souls, TLoU2, Sackboy, Bloodborne etc that are full games on release, they can throw whatever microtransactions they want elsewhere. I love the fact Sony 1st party games are not normally plagued by them, and often come with excellent dlc. Here is hoping it stays that way.

The best just got even better.

A patch for The Last of Us 2 next would be awesome as I keep holding out to play it.

I hope Tomb Raiding, loneliness and puzzle solving are the main concept for the games again. It would be great to have a natural evolution for the old Tomb Raider style, say that Zelda has had over the years, rather than the big budget brainlessness of the main section of the reboot games.

Kena looks great. I hope it has some nice puzzles

Looking forward to a mostly generic new gen as well then I imagine.

So much quality PS5 games, like Demon's Souks and Spiderman, and apart from Nintendo games, the UK charts are made up of generic 3rd party games like Just Dance, Fifa and Assassin's Creed.

@Mysterio There is plenty of beautiful scenery. In fact it is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. Sadly the Challenge Tombs are rubbish compared to the previous game, as the puzzles are .inimal and it is mostly basic platforming in them.

This has just went to the top of my most anticipated list.

I absolutely agree. I have multi-player games i play, but nothing beats the experience of a well designed single player experience with great gameplay, puzzles, level design, graphics and sound.

The PS5 is just out so we can't expect the best PS5 games yet. Its library needs to build up. We also just got the PS Plus collection which are some of the very best games ever made.

@youngbossrd Hearing things 8n your left or right ear is just stereo sound. 3d Audio is supposed to be like surround sound, so you hear it in the exact location it is supposed to be coming from, like behind

Sony more so than any game company gives nice things to its fans.

I can't believe they are just up-ressing the Swiych graphics instead of giving us the same absolutely gorgeous graphics of the vanilla PS4 version. There is no denying it is an amazing game, but I will be skipping this version.

Hollow Knight is a 10/10. It is easily the best non-Metroid Metroid game I have ever played.

What I really need to know, as Sony customer service does not even know, is more about the 4K. Blu-ray player. I know games are not Dolby Atmos/Vision compatible, but will the 4K Blu ray player have Dolby Atmos and Vision, and also HDR10+ compatability?

Also, as the games won't be DolbybAtmos compatible, will there be any surround sound in games for my current 7 1.2 set up, or is it only those with the headphones that are getting any surround sound?

I would be expecting it to be in resolution mode at 60fps on PS5. Surely the PS5 is powerful enough for this.

@3Above Where DOD you read the complaints about nothing new for the genre, as most reviews stated it reinvigorated the genre by not holding your hand and allowing you to think for yourself.

@3Above Assasins Creed as a yearly gaming franchise. Golden Standard games are usually those that are every several years. Ones that push the boundaries and do something new. Games like God of War, BotW, Grand Theft Auto, Super Mario Galaxy come out once in a blue moon and sell millions, even way into a consoles lifespan after they are released, because they are incredible and take years of planning, research and production. Assassins Creed games are just churned out, like CoD games to appeal to the masses. Many get enjoyment out of these games but they are hardly gold standard.

@3Above I am not arguing that. And who said I didnt like those games so your point is completely irrelevant. This conversation started when you made the sweeping statement that Japanese games are no longer relevant. But you are completely wrong and I have proved you wrong. You also said that Nintendo games are not good, or insinuated that, and I just pointed out that millions of people would disagree, critics and gamers alike. The opinions of hundreds of critics, and millions of fans means more to me than yours. I personally love games of all kinds. Westetn and Japanese. There are good and bad on each. I prefer games that are more gamey and less movie like, and you are the opposite.

I absolutely love Playsyation, I love Nintendo too, I also loved the Original X-Box. But dont claim Japanese games are not relevant just because you are not a fan, and say they are not selling anymore when facts and figures would state otherwise.

@3Above I played Horizon Zero Dawn and loved it, but it is nowhere near as varied and challenging as BotW. I am sure if it came out any other year, it would have win some game of the year awards. It is just a shame it came out the year as the same game many believe to be the best game if the past 20 years. If it were not for the combat, it would just be another generic open world game. Breath of the Wild had no pointers, you literally just got yourself lost in the game world and solved hundreds of puzzles. It was exceptionally varied, enormous and amazing they created such an open World that left you just to figure out everything on your own. Horizon was a movie like experience with cool combat and great graphics, but BotW was a thinking man's game. Do you own a Switch? I get the feeling that you don't. I love my movie like experiences, but I love my games more.
