Capcom hates it so much they are releasing Exoprimal on the service in July.

For reference - Zelda sold 10M copies in it's first three days. If FF tumbles down the JP/NA/UK charts like all of the other PS5 exclusives then Square Enix is in real trouble. They will have to fire up that NFT machine and release 'Pixel Remasters - 2 - The 2D-3D-4D Remastering' ahead of schedule.

Good news because SE constantly makes remakes. Obviously the marketing team is setting us up for an FF6 remake for those too dumb to see through this transparency.

Oh young naïve video game bloggers. The FTC blocked the acquisition on June 12th. The skin on cod, this - a simple move to show they are playing nice and have no intent on boxing out Sony - until the deal is finalized. Expect a few olive branches in the next week or so.

@cburg 140M console sales - #1 console seller week after week after week and each and every new console sold what is the first game they buy? Mario Kart.

@Member_the_game No doubt - Ubisoft is an amazing, first-class company that makes games pretty much everyone wants to play.

Hogwarts really didn't become an evergreen title until the PS4 edition came out. Showing that enough people didn't upgrade. Once the Switch edition comes out right before Christmas I wouldn't be surprised if it charts #1.

Round 3 - FIGHT!

Out of Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony - Sony is the worst by a huge margin. There is no reason at all to pay them money for their terrible service. The other two have issues - and might not be for everyone. But Sony's is abysmal and offers zero value.

That's the race. Other games will be mentioned but they aren't really in the race. Certainly nothing Sony exclusive. Terrible year for the playstation. Terrible generation really.

Capcom is on such a roll lately - I expect more bigger, better surprises from them than companies 100 times their size. I love where they are right now.

That is an impressive, eye-catching wrap to be sure.

This was probably the biggest surprise of the showcase for me. Looks intriguing at worst and awesome at best.

@GodofCapcom if it delivers as promised - Starfield is obviously a major goty contender to Zelda. Nothing else looks remotely close in quality to those two. For me it would be SF6 but that doesn't seem to be selling all that great - because it is tethered to two failing systems.

Sony doesn't have anything to show obviously.

@Ashina regardless of where it's going - the game almost looked like combat was second. like you are painting with your sowrd somewhat like Okami. really interesting looking.

@Carlore_Preventis I am going off of the perception when the game was released. It was hailed as average across the board - by players and professionals alike.

It is a history lesson of sorts. By the comments it seems most people don't realize this was a Twin Peaks- lite game in concept. Execution less so. This one obviously is in the same vein. A investigation separate reality. Obviously, Cooper, the famous FBI agent, stuck in the Return's Red Room as Alan Wake. I fully expect the game to have two separate egos formed as one ecetera.

I assume Alan Wake 2 was created because Twin Peaks - The Return was fully digested and then made into a game without being TP at all really. Just like Alan Wake 1.

I know they won't go all the way. Just like the first game. It will be a huge disappointment.

It's weird- everyone acting like AW1 was a classic. It was given average scores across the board and not many would call it a cult of anything. Serviceable game. That's about it. People on the Playstation are so desperate for anything different they will jump at any string dangled in front of them.

Oh yay square is giving us another remake.

Even the parents of Ubisoft employees wouldn't watch this one live.
