@lolwhatno so people are creating a false market, kind of thing? Pretending that it's worth something, when really it's not? (Sorry, I'm not trying to create an argument, before today I'd never heard of NFTs, I'm genuinely interested)
I just had to Google what NFTs are, so I'm by no means an expert on this, but surely it's only a bad idea if no one bids on these items, making them worthless, and teaching Konomi a lesson? If people go into a bidding war and Konomi makes a ton of money, then surely it's a good move by them? I guess there's a whole moral side to this, but at the end of the day, they're trying to make money. In my simplistic view, if everyone is really pissed off, then no one will be bidding on anything, teaching Konomi a lesson. Or am I missing something?
I don't really understand Discord, bit then I'm old and don't really do social media! I'm not sure how I'd use it, if I want to chat with friends while playing a game I use the party function. But, I'm open to try new things!
Me and my 2 sons still play on our Vitas weekly, still an amazing little device. Still upset that it's not still being supported! I think they should allow it to be turned into a retro device where you can play some of the older ROMs. Imagine being able to play C64 games on there, without having to mod it!
If it's a tiered system then I would think one tier would be the same as PS+ is right now, then one tier would be to include EVERY game (including Vita!) that PS+ has ever offered, and then another tier would be to include the huge back catalogue (I'm not sure what order these tiers would be, mind you!). Although I wonder if they would make all these games available day one, or just add 10-20 games a month. I think both PS+ and PSNow are great services, so combining them would be great. If the cost of these services combined is cheaper than they are now, surely that would be a win-win?
I bought both this and Avengers pre-order for my son's birthday. He still loves Avengers, despite the reviews (and, having played it myself, I can see why the bad reviews, even if I don't totally agree with them, as I enjoyed it, not the greatest, but enjoyable nonetheless). But I'm happy to see this getting good reviews. Love Guardians, but I'll let him play it first when he gets home from school!
Overcooked is a fun game with the kids, although I always end up shouting at them for not getting the food to the customers on time! Hahahaha! I'll try Predators and Hitman.
Not sure why the hatred for this month's games. They're meh for me personally, but that's mostly because I'd prefer an arcade tennis game, rather than a realistic, complicated sim (although I'd still try it) and I'm not a big fan of Battle Royale games. PvZ I bought for my kids when it came out, and they've been playing it and loving it ever since, and from what I've been watching of them, it's a fun game. So while this month it's a meh for me, I appreciate that it's just not my cup of tea, as opposed to being crap titles.
Yeah, I remember the time before Blockbuster too. I loved the little video rental stores. They would buy 5 copies of the latest movie, and 2 weeks later would sell them for £10! Thus started my collecting addiction of movies! I still own a couple of VHS movies that aren't available to buy in other formats. I was never a huge fan of Blockbuster, although they had good deals once they went bankrupt and had to sell everything!
Me and my two boys use the Vita just about every day. I've noticed that my two boys have figured out a fair system when playing PS5 single player games, while one plays PS5, the other the Vita, they time each other for an hour, then swap! I still think the Vita has a place in the PS world right now.
Hmmm, I wonder if I'll get more than 70 people to sign my petition if I started one for Sensible World of Soccer to come to the PS5? Or Impossible Mission? Or Jet Set Willy? Or Summer Games? Or Law of the West...
@Doomsday619 haha! Yes! Many a joystick got destroyed playing it back in the day! They should also look at bringing back Winter Games, Summer Games, California Games, etc from Epyx into the new generations.
Our PS3 still gets quite a bit of use. Hot Shots Golf World Invitational and Motorstorm RC were played over the past week on it. All our PlayStation family still gets used a lot, our PSVitas, PS3, PS4 and PS5!
My computer magazine buying peaked at Commodore User, and dried up with Amiga User! I had moved to Canada by the time OPM came about. Still, when I head back home to visit mum I'd always love the trip to Tesco to buy a copy! One thing the article doesn't say, and the reason I bought a new subscription to PLAY last night, is that they have a special offer of 5 issues for 5 $/£. So I'm going to give it a try. Magazines aren't as ingrained in the culture here in North America the same way they are in the UK. Not sure why...
@BionicDodo yes, that's very true. I played Uncharted, and loved it. Since then, I've bought the sequels at launch because I know I'll love them, and to support the developers so more will come.
I get what he's saying, but no way can I afford, not would I want to pay, full price for a game on day one without knowing if I like it. I rely on sites such as PushSquare for reviews, etc, to see if it's something if like. What happened to the days of getting a demo of the game to try out? PS+ could give out a few demos a month before release. That seemed to work before. I'd play a demo and know right away if I liked it, and be more receptive to paying full price for a game then. But you don't see demos very often nowadays.
Huh, I thought there'd be more excitement for this! Am I the only one that would love to play as Gollum? Haha! I think he has a pretty good story that could work well in a video game. But I guess it's just me!
