@Goat_FromBOTW yeah, a sequel would be great. I play PS1 games on my little handheld that I bought, so it should be possible for the Vita to play those games, but if a sequel had L2/R2 buttons, and the rest that you mention, to make it able to play, say up to PS3 games, then yes, a huge success. A machine that can play any game from PS3 all the way back to Atari 2600? Take my money!
@ShiningStar I disagree. I've just bought a handheld emulator that plays all my favourites from back in the C64 and Amiga days, and I'm having a blast! While graphically yes, they have aged, some of them are still awesome. Impossible Mission is still great!
I personally thing that Sony should make the PSVita into an emulation machine, where it can play PS games natively, but then allow me to also download retro games onto it, from all the past consoles. Imagine having the PSVita relevant again!
I hate it when servers go down and leave the possibility of getting the Platinum trophy impossible. I wish they'd revamp their trophy collection before getting rid of multiplayer, so you can still get the Platinum. Or maybe not a Platinum, but make it possible to get 100%, or something...
Ha, I was getting quite excited at the prospect of one of my favourites back in the day getting an upgrade, but something in the back of my mind was telling me I was thinking of something else. Just figured it out. I was thinking of The Last Nina, from the C64 days! I'm sure I played Tenchu, but every stealth ninja game will be compared to The Last Ninja for me!
I have 3 Vitas, and each one gets played a lot by myself and my 2 sons. I'd say they get played almost as much as the PS4. I love playing some of the older Lego games! They love the Ad-Hoc games too!
Yeah, I loved the demo disks. I also remember the demo cassettes that came with Commodore User! I loved going to the newsagents to pick up the latest copy. I remember the demos of Gauntlet, 720°, Uridium etc!
Still use mine, it's a regular fixture for me and my two kids as we battle each other in Worms! They still get annoyed by how proficient I am with with the Super Sheep! Haha!
@Eadgar I agree 100%! I refuse to believe that they couldn't have just put a little link somewhere for PS3 and Vita games. Maybe all lumped together. To get rid of them altogether seems too much. You're right, accessing the store via the PS3 isn't very good, it worked a lot better on the web. Same for Vita.
I was just finishing in Uni when it came out, and we were still getting mileage out of Sensible World of Soccer and Worms on the Amiga! So I waited a wee bit before getting the PS1. Continued from the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. Incidentally, I just bought the C64 Mini, and the games are still brilliant!
@LiamCroft great review, very well written and very fair. I've only dipped in and out of this game, because truth be told, I bought it for my Marvel obsessed kids. My 10 year old got the platinum for Spiderman, and has been playing this game not stop for the past few weeks. He loves it, and says it's just as good as Spiderman. Neither of us have played the online content yet, but my son has completed the main story and is now playing the extra content. It's funny, but as you say it's very repetitive, I found the exact same thing in Spiderman's extra missions. But my son is enjoying the extra content more than the Spiderman ones. I guess we'll see how the online stuff goes in the next few months, and see how he likes that. I'm not a big online person, so I can't comment on that. One thing I will say, the promise of more characters (especially Spiderman!) has my son super excited for the future of this game. So although I think the 6/10 you gave is probably very fair, I'd have to give it an extra couple of marks due to the experience of someone who the game was totally aimed at, and their aim was spot on!
@Olmaz yes, it's made for them! I'm interested to see if my 10 year old will still be playing it a month from now. He loved Spider-man, and got his first Platinum with it, so he has a good comparison for quality. As I say, it is pretty good, so I have a feeling he'll play it quite a bit.
@Olmaz yes, I pre-ordered it. It was for my two Marvel obsessed boys. Although I'm sure I'll play it at some point! So I guess because of the Avengers brand. If my kids didn't want it, I wouldn't have pre-ordered, but waited for the reviews to come out. I'd have probably waited for a price drop, or maybe bought it for the PS5. I have to say though, for the other posters who are curious, my 10 and 7 year olds loved playing the Beta, and are loving playing it now. I haven't been able to pry them away long enough to play it myself, but I've been watching them play it, and I have to be honest, it's pretty good.
Oh man, how is have loved this feature on my Commodore 64 back in the day! I would have asked it questions such as "hey Commodore, how do I get out of this bloody hanger?!" When I was playing Raid Over Moscow...
@LocalPenguin I play rugby, so the quality for us rugby players has always been poor, unlike some.of the skating games, so count yourself lucky! I still prefer 720° to THPS, although that may be the rose tinted nostalgia glasses!
@LocalPenguin very cool! I also got a skateboard after playing the game, but, unlike yourself, I was crap, and never managed to succeed! As long as I had 720° and the skating part in Summer Games, I was happy!
@Deadlyblack - why do you have to say things like that? Now I feel old! I have 20 years on you! When you were born I was in my final year of university, and about to leave the world of Amiga to join the world of PlayStation! Why would you do that? My day was going so well! Haha!
It's a very addictive and enjoyable game! Only issue with me is trying to kick my kids off it so I can have a game! Haha! I hope they put split screen in, so we can all play together. Although that may be impossible with a huge online game like this?

@JeffWhiff what emulation are you using? I've been thinking of creating my Vita into an emulation. SWOS was a hard game to master in the day too!

Worms Revolution Extreme on PSVita. I want to play Star Wars Squadrons, but my son is hogging that...
Re: The Pathless Ruled Out as PS5's First Free PS Plus Game
I wouldn't be surprised if they give away remastered versions of PS4 games, such as Uncharted.
Re: Best PS4 Sports Games
Daley Thompson's Decathlon and Sensible World of Soccer are easily better than all of the games listed... 😳
Re: The Internet Thinks Microsoft Will Buy SEGA Next

I think PlayStation should buy Epyx, so they can monopolize the Summer Games, Winter Games, California Games collections...
