Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?

Bingbongboyo

@Goat_FromBOTW yeah, a sequel would be great. I play PS1 games on my little handheld that I bought, so it should be possible for the Vita to play those games, but if a sequel had L2/R2 buttons, and the rest that you mention, to make it able to play, say up to PS3 games, then yes, a huge success. A machine that can play any game from PS3 all the way back to Atari 2600? Take my money!

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?

@ShiningStar I disagree. I've just bought a handheld emulator that plays all my favourites from back in the C64 and Amiga days, and I'm having a blast! While graphically yes, they have aged, some of them are still awesome. Impossible Mission is still great!

I personally thing that Sony should make the PSVita into an emulation machine, where it can play PS games natively, but then allow me to also download retro games onto it, from all the past consoles. Imagine having the PSVita relevant again!

Re: Acquire President Wants to Make Tenchu-Esque Title for PS5 Era

Ha, I was getting quite excited at the prospect of one of my favourites back in the day getting an upgrade, but something in the back of my mind was telling me I was thinking of something else. Just figured it out. I was thinking of The Last Nina, from the C64 days! I'm sure I played Tenchu, but every stealth ninja game will be compared to The Last Ninja for me!

@JeffWhiff what emulation are you using? I've been thinking of creating my Vita into an emulation. SWOS was a hard game to master in the day too!

Re: Have a Gander at the New PS Store for Web Browsers

Bingbongboyo

@Eadgar I agree 100%! I refuse to believe that they couldn't have just put a little link somewhere for PS3 and Vita games. Maybe all lumped together. To get rid of them altogether seems too much. You're right, accessing the store via the PS3 isn't very good, it worked a lot better on the web. Same for Vita.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PlayStation at Launch 25 Years Ago?

Bingbongboyo

I was just finishing in Uni when it came out, and we were still getting mileage out of Sensible World of Soccer and Worms on the Amiga! So I waited a wee bit before getting the PS1. Continued from the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. Incidentally, I just bought the C64 Mini, and the games are still brilliant!

Re: Marvel's Avengers - Crystal Dynamics' Heroic Risk Is a Game of Two Halves

@LiamCroft great review, very well written and very fair. I've only dipped in and out of this game, because truth be told, I bought it for my Marvel obsessed kids. My 10 year old got the platinum for Spiderman, and has been playing this game not stop for the past few weeks. He loves it, and says it's just as good as Spiderman. Neither of us have played the online content yet, but my son has completed the main story and is now playing the extra content. It's funny, but as you say it's very repetitive, I found the exact same thing in Spiderman's extra missions. But my son is enjoying the extra content more than the Spiderman ones. I guess we'll see how the online stuff goes in the next few months, and see how he likes that. I'm not a big online person, so I can't comment on that. One thing I will say, the promise of more characters (especially Spiderman!) has my son super excited for the future of this game. So although I think the 6/10 you gave is probably very fair, I'd have to give it an extra couple of marks due to the experience of someone who the game was totally aimed at, and their aim was spot on!

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Marvel's Avengers?

Bingbongboyo

@Olmaz yes, it's made for them! I'm interested to see if my 10 year old will still be playing it a month from now. He loved Spider-man, and got his first Platinum with it, so he has a good comparison for quality. As I say, it is pretty good, so I have a feeling he'll play it quite a bit.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Marvel's Avengers?

Bingbongboyo

@Olmaz yes, I pre-ordered it. It was for my two Marvel obsessed boys. Although I'm sure I'll play it at some point! So I guess because of the Avengers brand. If my kids didn't want it, I wouldn't have pre-ordered, but waited for the reviews to come out. I'd have probably waited for a price drop, or maybe bought it for the PS5.
I have to say though, for the other posters who are curious, my 10 and 7 year olds loved playing the Beta, and are loving playing it now. I haven't been able to pry them away long enough to play it myself, but I've been watching them play it, and I have to be honest, it's pretty good.
