Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Assassin's Creed Shadows?

Barry_vV

8.4, closer to an 8 than a 9.

A couple of basic functions are missing which were present in previous games

  • Meditate for day/night
  • Auto follow for the horse
  • Mark and sell all for gear, now you have to sell each item individually. It takes a lot of time
  • No blood drops on the floor when sheating weapon
  • There is 1 sensitivity instead of 2.
    I want 1 for looking,1 for aiming.
  • And last there are a couple of bugs, 2 examples: The low res chests and the coming alive of assasinated enemies (it's a miracle!)

Totally agree.

Worst camera in years. The constant resetting of the vertical camera and no Lock on means the camera is to slow to follow the action.

Most Hack&slash game i have played in years. Indeed Shallow gameplay like mentioned in the review. Playing on Hard and its mostly spamming Square with a occasional triangle.

@Fanboys stop defending a mediocre game in 2025 standards. Maybe the OG game was good for its time, but its underwhelming for 2025

Just a simple 7/10 game good for a sale.

Re: FromSoftware Boss Says Using Guides to Beat Its Games a 'Perfectly Valid Playstyle'

Barry_vV

@Mustoe I love Souls-likes games. I have played them all. But i indeed hate From Software games and their (missing) design/no guidance. FS even said on Twitter that only 35% of the Elden Ring players have reached the point needed to start the coming dlc. The missing guidance plays a big part in that.

I (we, the 65%) don't need a exact marker where to go but at least give the game meaning and minimal guidance, like Lords of The Fallen or Lies of P.

The FS games just feel lazy and not done in my opinion.

@Mustoe The difference is in the word "needs"

Of course there are guides for other games, but they are not needed to complete these games. Those are extra. For example you can complete GoW Ragnarok without a guide where to go, the guides for GoW are where to find all collectibles. That's for a different goal.

Most people playing From Software games can't get to the ending without a guide, that's the difference. It's the lack of direction in those games why a guide is needed.

Re: Trails through Daybreak Demo Out Now, Progress Carries to the Full RPG

Barry_vV

Never played a Trails game before. The gameplay, old blurry (ugly) art style and descriptions in the reviews told me enough.

But! I downloaded this demo yesterday and i must say i like the demo so far (1 hour in).
Especially the 2-way combat system took me by surprise. You can fight normally and Turn Based. Alas on the other hand the game still is blurry/ugly and the opening town looks empty.

Awaiting the reviews on 5th of July..
