Soulslike action RPGs may be dime a dozen these days, but WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers does legitimately look like it’s worth paying attention to.

The game, developed by Chinese studio Lenzee Games and published by 505 Games, will release on 24th July, with pre-orders including the following bonus items:

  • Night Spectre Enhanced Costume Set
  • White Spectre Enhanced Costume Set
  • Vermillion War Club (Axe)
  • Glistening Red Mercury Skill Upgrade Item

The game will cost $49.99/£44.99 by default, but there will be a Deluxe Edition available featuring four additional costumes and weapons for $59.99/£49.99.

“WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is a Soulslike action RPG set in the land of Shu during the dark and tumultuous late Ming Dynasty, plagued with warring factions and a mysterious illness spawning monstrous creatures,” the press release reads.

“Become Wuchang, a skilled pirate warrior struck by amnesia, who must navigate the uncertainties of her mysterious past while afflicted by the horrific Feathering disease.”

We went hands on with this game earlier in the year, and enjoyed what we played a fair bit. If you’re already familiar with the Souslike genre, then you’ll find few surprises here, but the artwork is lovely and the combat crunches in all the right ways.

A late July release date should give the game some separation from the inevitable onslaught of holiday releases, so this seems like smart timing from 505 Games.
