Embattled Gacha Infinity Nikki Attempts to Rescue Its Reputation with New PS5 Update

After watching mujins video about this I don't think there making a successful comeback

they reeeeally shat the bed with the last update - a rare triple whammy of completely broken, increasingly predatory monetisation and implementing controversial story retcons/re-writes. I mean games have done one or two of those things but I dunno if I've ever seen a game do them all at once.

I'll be impressed if they manage to claw back the good will they lost

I suppose for free you can't grumble too much. The only gacha game I've ever tried, it was OK for a few hours but then deleted it when the repetition kicked in.

Making the 5 star dresses contain 11 pieces all of a sudden and increasing the time in which Mira Crown Pinnacle resets were both scummy practices clearly designed to make it harder to get pulls and complete outfits without spending real money.

After putting over 400 hours into the game, my wife is strongly considering dropping it.

Drop a 60fps patch, then we will check it out.

I'm not sure this is enough to get people back, or make the people who are still playing it happy. I think this would have been fine if it were 1.5 and the actual 1.5 fiasco never happened, but it did. So this almost feels like a step back to let's just pretend that never happened and get down to business.

A lot of impatient people have been waiting for the next big story arc and location setting, whining about it all the time, when they should know a massive open world game like this takes time. But Infold did say way back when that each new big adventure would happen about every 6 months, which is where we are now. I've always thought it would take longer than that, but they should at least address it. Where's the timeline map? Will the game visit all 6 named kingdoms to get the last 6 miracle outfits or nah?

They were also promoting a house for Nikki, still no mention of that either.

I'm checking in a few days a week, less and less every week. I've stopped entirely trying to get the new materials in the co-op area for the new infinity heart. 3 per day plus 8 to do stuff, and you need 40 for each heart section, and you need I think 4 of those for a dress evolution, was just too much of a time commitment when there's nothing else to do.

I'm sure I'll finish up all this new stuff in a week or 2 but I may be done after that if they can't at least give us a roadmap for the rest of the game. If it's going to take 7 years to obtain the last miracle outfit and get Nikki back for her high school graduation I'm probably done playing.

I understand no DSS updates but was surprised nothing for Fortnite, which had a big Star Wars season ending event on Saturday followed up by chapter 6 season 3 w/ Superman & Robin. I haven't tried it yet, kind of bored w/ that as well, but may check it out later. So you done w/ them too? MH Wilds only had 1 comment in 2 hours but I'm guessing you'll keep covering that.
