Kingdoms of Amalur Sequel

An actual sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur? Hey, it might be happening, if a new trademark from publisher THQ Nordic is anything to go by.

Eagled-eyed Reddit user Tozzeb spotted said trademark on the European Union's database; it's just been approved, having been registered on the 1st July.

The trademark itself is for 'Fatekeeper' — which is where the immediate Kingdoms of Amalur links are coming from. Those who have played the action RPG will know that its whole story revolves around the power of fate; your main character is unshackled from the concept, allowing them to rewrite the fantasy world's future.

It's worth mentioning that there is some additional weight to all of this speculation. A couple of years back, Kaiko Games — the developer behind Kingdoms of Amalur's 2020 remaster and its new Fatesworn expansion — revealed that it was hiring for a new project based on an existing property. Hmmm.

We've heard nothing on that front ever since, and so there's plenty of room for rumours like this. But for the sake of balance, we should note that THQ Nordic has a lot of properties under its umbrella — and 'Fatekeeper' could potentially apply to something like Darksiders, SpellForce, Risen... the list goes on.

Still, it's easy to see where the hope is coming from. We'll hopefully learn more about this 'Fatekeeper' soon — especially since THQ Nordic has a digital showcase locked in for the 1st August.

But until then, let us know if you're up for another Kingdoms of Amalur in the comments section below.
