@DETfaninATL frame rate is 100% important. I’m not playing 30 fps games anymore. I shouldn’t have to. Hardware is more than powerful enough.

@AverageGamer I can cite elden ring and resident evil village off the top of my head where the ps5 was significantly faster. But not going to continue getting into a console war with you.

@AverageGamer if you watch any digital foundry video where they compare SSD loading, PS5 has a clear advantage even over PC and Xbox. If developers don’t support direct storage in Windows, the SSD advantage will not be realized, even with PCIe 5.0.

@Bismarck I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have a PS5, a Series X, and a 3080 Ti gaming rig with PCIe 4 SSDs and the ps5 blows the other two out of the water. The difference is definitely noticeable.

Did they cap how much more they’ll charge for upgrade fee? I calculated $270 to upgrade my 4.5 years of plus, but they are only quoting $99 for plus, $149 for premium.

@KundaliniRising333 unfortunate. I’ll check it out later. I played the ps4 version on my ps5 and it was beautiful. Solid 60 the whole game.

@Ambassador_Kong frame rate will be fixed later this week when Sony releases the VRR update.

Your cons on elden ring are BS, push square. Side content is amazing. Frame rate is great when playing the ps4 code path on ps5. And besides demons souls remake, the load screens on this game are not nearly as bad as the other souls games.

@bozz I couldn’t get into it because the game was talking so much and wouldn’t let me play.

@KundaliniRising333 the PS4 version played on the ps5 has no technical issues. Flawless 60 fps.

@jrt87 I’m tempted to try out the PS4 back compat mode on ps5… ign says it’s locked at 60 and stays there. 1800p resolution (probably checkerboard)

@GamingFan4Lyf agree with your points on performance mode. Regarding frame rate caps, I would love to see a toggle for the caps. The last of us remastered has this and it makes playing the game on the PS5 even better than the PS4 Pro.

@Squanch should breath of the wild not have gotten a 10/10 because if it’s crappy frame rate? Frame rate problems or not, a masterpiece is still a masterpiece.

@Royalblues the solution, unfortunately, is to spend money buying an NVMe drive for your PS5 and installing it.

@AFCC my first demons souls play through, I was a barbarian. Aka hard mode. If you want easy mode, play royalty.

When is it coming to switch?

@Integrity I mainly use my switch pro controller as I play most games docked. The pro controller basically does not get drift. Highly recommended. I’ve gamed on switch for 5 years and no drift whatsoever.

I got onto Playstation's support chat, and I simply asked them to revoke the license for my disc upgrade, and they did it. It took 2 minutes, and now I can use the plus version of the game. Not the easiest, but it is what it is. Anybody wanting a fix just needs to ask that they revoke the "FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE upgrade for PS4™ version owners" license. EDIT: surprisingly, it didn't make me redownload the game. What was previously a "disc" license game is now a "PS+" license game.
