@BRT15 I have always believed Tv would work, once American Tv got better (which it mostly has thanks to streaming), and ofcourse once they start trying with good source material. Call witcher whatever you want, it's enjoyed more popularity than any movie based on a game (i know witcher is based on a book but still). Probably why I'm sure halo will be warmly received and tlou can actually blow up. It's simply because tv shows not only allow you more time, but they're also safer to nail than a two hour movie in general. They've just been less attractive financially but that'll likely change once a few hits emerge in the coming years. My prediction is that most of these 'want to adapt into film' video game adaptations will turn to tv once that does happen. Either it'll change before the movie releases and predictably flops or after (like assassins creed for example). But it's very easy to predict general trends once you have been doing it like I have for years so I'm pretty sure my prediction will be correct.
@Snake_V5 Current only, this'll likely release in 2024-25 and I imagine it quite strange to see a ps4 game then. Besides, they peaked in graphical prowess with rdr 2. Plus, the next gen consoles came just one year after rdr 2 pc version. And most importantly, they'll likely update it for the next ten years if another online version launches so having a ps4 gta in 2035 is probably not ideal.
also, on another note they could probably update the current gta online till 2050 and it would probably work, same as wow.
People can complain all they want, this is probably the biggest thing thats going to release this decade (not counting AAA f2p). At the end, Rockstar is like James Cameron of games. People complain for a decade, hate on it, etc etc, but it comes out and blows everything out of the water. Probably the only company that not only peaks both in single-player as well as the modern live service element but maximises hype and then surprasses it.
When this does come out, it'll be interesting to see the entire WORLD stop and only talk about this, for quite a long while. From mainstream websites to news channels, there are a few things left in this world that gets everybody talking at the same time, given how diversified and targeted everything is.
@WolfyTn You can get used to it, its hard to transition but trust me, entire WORLDS open up to you once you move past the language barrier. Hell, you start looking at life differently because now you're not stuck in your country's bubble. There is a world of mediums that you're missing out on.
Microsoft should (and easily could) just buy sony at this rate. Sony's worth is like double the amount they're paying for this deal. Not to mention, it'll be hilarious to see everybody's reaction to that.
I would recommend people here to either play or watch the matrix awaken thingy on youtube. It gives you a small open world to explore and the BEST PART was not shown! IT IS THE SINGLE BEST LOOKING "GAME" I HAVE SEEN YET! Watch it to believe it.
@huyi I get that you were obsessed with this stuff. I used to be too back in the previous decade (tho I completed skyrim once not five times). But maybe you're taking this stuff too seriously? Isn't the entire point of life to move on and not let things effect you the way they used to? See, I got dumped recently by somebody I had an amazing month with. Now that HURT. But this childhood game of mine coming a decade later for 50 pounds is mere amusing trivia to me. I can't really understand having such strong feelings about this as you're having. Who cares about these companies and their exclusivities and their games? It's ultimately a trivial point of life. Am I being ignorant saying that? I'd like to hear your point on this.
This is so cheap I almost feel bad for Sony. You can't get one indie game at this price. Now imagine 500 of them plus so many AAAs. I feel like I have robbed someone. Gamepass is so much more expensive than this even when you use the gold trick.
My time on this planet is very limited and more valuable than most things in life including money. That's precisely why I play sony games as they're the proper 'blockbuster' of the game industry that respects your time mostly. Do I really want to play a game where you walk around just so I can play something others call 'art'. It's unique, it's adding something different and thats noteworthy. If i was immortal or a teen again, I would play the crap out of it but I think it might be too late for me now sorry gaming world.
The first proper PS5 interactive movie from the proven and talented French Quantic dreams is a... star wars. America, we get it, it had a huge influence on you in the 1970s but WE, the rest of the world, don't care. Stop shoving it everywhere.
@Jaz007 Saddest thing is we won't see an actual next gen GOW game, just a big ass expansion. Exactly what they did with God of war 2 back in 2007, except there's no 3rd part which wouldn't be a tragedy if it was a next gen game.
Will multi-platforms look as good as ps5 exclusive game? In last gen, playstation exclusives were generally the best looking games. It might be the case this generation too mainly because of the series S. To provide a lower price point, they have made a weaker console thats not really next gen and since multi-platforms have to accomodate it, even if they don't have to run it in 4k, I feel this gen might get limited. I really really hope I'm wrong tho.
It's suffering from one issue nobody's mentioned yet. The fact that it looks the same as the previous game. As a rule, if your sequel is so similar you should target next gen, same thing that they're doing with god of war. I know this is japanese with a lower budget but still.
@Dragonaged Good luck, that's what I used to think. Then I grew up a few years, lost interest and now wish I had played the stuff I used to be interested in as a kid. It's too late now for me.
@Z390 We already have entertainment that's heavily filtered and tries to avoid controversy and discussion constantly, what are you on about? Adults watch silly superhero movies while 25000 people die of hunger every day. Remember that scene in iron man where he saves innocents from the taliban, yet in real life, we have a superpower that ignores it and leaves the victims to them and while the women are forced to wear burqas, the world ignores it and discusses morality on social media. We're already so 'pampered' we become complacent and ignore real life atrocities is what I'm saying.
@vapidwolf That's actor as a character. Very different. It's like how everybody wants to see Robert downey as ironman, but not watch dolittle for the actor himself. It's like everybody thinks of norman reedus as death stranding guy but nobody cares if he voices some villian.
I have nothing against this man but whats the point of celebrities? So they can charge a high rate resulting in budgets increase causing games to become safer and hoping that enough customers are able to buy the game and so on and so on. Control your budgets developers, nobody buys games for celebrities, heck nobody watches movies for celebs.
Does anybody know what the next ps5-only game is or when they'll announce something? I don't care about this nonsense. I just want to see some good next-gen graphics in games that are neither excruciatingly difficult (demon souls) or kiddie cartoon games (ratchet and clank).
I think sony does these things occasionally. Banning things that might affect them even if it comes at the expense of the customer. I think when EA play launched, xbox accepted it but sony didn't, saying they didn't see the value or point in it (probably saw it as competition to their-then failing PS now). Same with the cross-play controversy.
It's being overly protective, something Nintendo has always specialised in. Sony's like the Japanese company right behind Nintendo in that regard. Same as Disney in movies. These 'forced' family-friendly companies generally pull these moves (though Sony just copies them in one aspect). Remember Nintendo's seal of approval to exclude adult games in the earlier decades of gaming? Or Disney not letting directors make even PG-13 movies until Pirates of the Carribean? And now only Deadpool for R-rating? Or an obsessive control over their IP superheros (with Disney Marvel, with Sony it used to be Spiderman). Kind of like how Rami Malek typish actors, or states like China or even some Islamic states have this desire to control public image, the way they're seen internationally. Anyways, going off-topic, I digress.
I heard that hades has like 300, 000 words. And given that every character speaks like 2 lines every run, I don't think its easily possible to hear all of it.
@Wolf-krueger @ShogunRok How is it possible to have so many hours in a single-player game with a finite ending? Does it just go on and on somehow (like an online game)?
I remember thinking " this game has gotten so tedious" somewhere in the middle of the campaign. Ironically, (one) of the main characters in the game says "this is getting tedious" at the exact moment and I was like "recognizing the bad parts atleast are we?"
Nintendo switch might cross the ps2 given a few more years on the market though it does have the advantage of a lower price point and much lower manufacturing costs as well (which potentially allows them to price it even lower if they wanted to).
And, not to be a downer, but at the end of the day, so much hard work, 7 years of growth, and incredible exclusives and all they added was like 30 million people probably from the 360-to-xbone leavers. That's why Gamepass sounds way more exciting, it's far more 'shake up the industry' and has potential for mainstreaming AAA gaming in a way Sony simply cannot, regardless of how well they do the job.
@ShogunRok I find it extremely curious as to what Gta online could have done if it had gone f2p like Warzone and Fortnite. I genuinely think it could have been bigger than fortnite especially if they had found a way to port it to Android/IOS (miniscule version like PUBG or streaming). Rockstar does have a tendency to be more 'premium' so I'm not surprised they kept it as a priced product.
@ATaco Yeah, you'll find it overrated and mediocre ( I know I did). The first two campaigns are exactly that apart from the music. Just know that the actual game is locked up in the third campaign and again, trust me, That's an experience you don't get otherwise. Missing out on that is like missing out on something very very memorable. Admittedly, the first two boring campaigns are what lead to the third one so it's very sad to see people missing out on something that unique.
@ATaco Good heavens. Somebody who hasn't played Nier automata. Anyways, if you're serious, just know the third campaign is an experience of a lifetime, so BEYOND incredible that I don't think I'll ever forget a certain character in my life. Most people, unfortunately, probably never discovered it due to weirdo Japanese developers putting the best parts in such a hidden manner. If you decide to quit before the third campaign, WATCH it on youtube because, again, I promise you the third campaign is something very VERY special.
I don't think it sounds that bad. They're being honest about it meaning they have a long term plan and frankly, they're setting up the future trend of annual games that's been a long time in the making so this release is very very important to this industry. Also most online live service game starts like this, then gets expanded later so again, the fact they're being so direct is a positive. Hopefully, other annual 'update' games will also be forced to change to this model by the next decade.
@TheDudeElDuderino A safer, more predictable product would probably be Ellie and Joel hanging around and saving each other (deus ex machina). OR 'evil' person who ****** Joel being the big boss at the end. So in that sense, it was definetly gutsy. Why, what would have been the 'brave' story in your opinion?
@TheDudeElDuderino Actually while interesting I wasn't that amazed (I thought plenty of other stories ,particularly in novels, had done this kind of "subversion" before) but my hype might have been too high given the hatred towards it. (Yeah, the hate made me think it was going to be more unique admittedly).
However, with that said, for a 'big project' I think it was still somewhat confident. And it did piss off an army of very vocal people while getting acclaim which itself is very impressive in some ways.
@gollumb82 Just remember its an indie game and its really addictive once you get into it. Kinda like more addictive 'runs' than returnal. As for tlou2 hate, that's everywhere where the core gaming community is. The vocal minority makes sure to let everybody know how much they hate it. But personally, I think it speaks more for the game when it gets so much praise while also being so much hated by a core. Shows they took creative risks and then delivered rather than a safer, predictable product that would be liked by all.
@gollumb82 I would recommend you to check out this website: gameawards.net Hades was probably closer than any other indie game has ever been to winning the most gotys but nowhere close to tlou2.
This makes this years game of the year so interesting. Think this is the first time I find it somewhat difficult to predict.
Btw, the best games are it takes two, returnal, ratchet and clank, hitman 3, re8, monster hunter rise.
There's no clear defined winner and I think either of these (except maybe re8 and hitman 3) could win. I would personally go for monster hunter rise first and it takes two second.
Mordin's death is dissapointing in me2 because you miss such a good moment in Me3. Secondly, the 32 percent is much better than the 18 percent in ME3. Shows the decreased divide in videogames over the years as well as Bioware marketing femshep properly this time. Even if something is not popular in the mainstream initially, advertising and encouraging it raises it quite a lot. Third point, the genophage turned from a grey issue in ME1 to a very 'renegade and evil people only commit genophage" in ME3 even though its obvious that krogan will overpopulate in the galaxy bringing death and destruction. Still would support the 6 percent.
Does anybody really think this actor increases the sales of the video games. Just kill him off and be done with it. But now we finally know why the first game was never ported to PC when every other video game does since steam became big.
@lolwhatno People act crazy because they care about these things. They have grown up knowing that a piece of land they were born in called something is 'theirs' and they learn patriotism and go and fight wars for it. Ofcourse they cheer if it 'wins' in anything. Imagine the emotions on an election night, sports is like a trivial version of rooting for your team, and by extension, the country that you feel so attached to. Plus, bonus if you love the sport and if you look around you can see other people having extreme emotions and being obsessed with the sport and its natural for most people to conform and imitate the behavior of people around them. Finally, compare this to video games. It's a bunch of virtual characters and you're pressing a bunch of buttons and yet people get so emotional on both the state of a game or if they lose while playing a competitive game. Even caring about whether Fifa is different or not, like people here and on the internet, is ridiculous as you don't have any control over it and the things you're experiencing are being experienced by millions of people all over the world and you're just one random insignificant person. Despite all of that, people care about their favorite video games quite a lot when you explore these communities. And finally, all of these are coming from a person with a similar perspective to you. Despite everything i have said to explain and justify it, it looks completely ridiculous to me too.

There's no clear defined winner and I think either of these (except maybe re8 and hitman 3) could win. I would personally go for monster hunter rise first and it takes two second.
Anybody want to make a prediction?
Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Stats Show Most Popular Shepard, Key Story Choices, and Much More
Mordin's death is dissapointing in me2 because you miss such a good moment in Me3.
Re: Judgment Series Future Unclear as Lead Actor's Agency Reportedly Disrupts SEGA's Plans
Does anybody really think this actor increases the sales of the video games. Just kill him off and be done with it.
But now we finally know why the first game was never ported to PC when every other video game does since steam became big.

@Dobbos Thanks.
Re: FIFA 22 Officially Revealed, and It's All About HyperMotion Gameplay Technology
Re: Netflix's The Witcher: Season 2 Saddles Up on 17th December
Does anybody know if this is based on 'blood of elves' the first book in the main saga or is it still just a short story adaptation?
Re: PS Now Confirms Leaked Line-Up for July 2021, Plus More PS4 Games
Is this the first time Ps now has beaten Ps Plus so easily? Also, has there been a better month ever in Ps Now's history?
