Original Story: Back when basically every movie got a tie-in game, Shrek 2 released on PS2, and it's fondly remembered by fans despite its rough edges.

Well, if you want to feel all nostalgic, here's some good news: the co-op brawler is making its grand return in Shrek 2 Remastered.

The game is all but confirmed thanks to an Xbox store page that's gone live before any official announcement.

There, you can watch the announcement trailer — which spoofs GTA 6 — and see a handful of screenshots.

The project is being handled by Aspyr, which is best known for bringing back several classic Star Wars games.

According to the store page, the remastered game is "rebuilt with better textures, enhanced UI, 4K resolution and cutscenes."

It also includes new features, like a photo mode and new unlockable cheats, as well as four player co-op either locally, online, or a mix of both.

It's expected that Shrek 2 Remastered will be formally announced during an ID@Xbox showcase next week.

The game, it's worth noting, was on the long list of games accidentally leaked via Steam earlier this year.
