Bounced off FF7R twice, once when it first came out, again after seeing rave reviews for Rebirth. First time I got to 'visit three identical rooms to divert components for the Airbuster boss'. This time 'do three separate mechanical hand puzzles while following a long ass boring tunnel' was the final straw. It sure is pretty, but gameplay is a slog. Thinking I will trade them both in toward Unicorn Overlord.

What happened to this being worth those big AAAA bucks?

@Shredderlovespizza I don't agree with or condone these extreme negative reactions, my argument is the artist can be responsible for causing damage with their art, just as the audience also plays a part in how they interpret it. ND literally did create a character so terrible it lead some people to these awful, harmful reactions, this article/conversation is evidence of that. Both parties must shoulder responsibility. The voice actor is largely blameless.

Three hours doesn't feel like long enough for the basis of an article, but by all accounts this game is a train wreck, so who cares, lol?

Both DLC packs are a day 1 purchase for me. The mimimi stealth/strategy trilogy are some of the best, most replayable games to come out in a long time. Sad to see the studio go under. There's always hope that the new Commandos game will be good, but... not holding my breath.

Same as any elusive target. Spend ages wandering map looking for unmarked target, chuck a remote duck at his feet, run away and detonate. The new suit unlock is swank though.

If digital prices were actually cheaper than the identical physical product (to reflect the absence of manufacture, transportation, etc) I would be on board, but they aren't, so I'm not.

Cautiously optimistic, but deep down I know it will be mediocre at best.

@Zuljaras I am surprised to hear that. I wrapped it up last night and brute forced my way through the whole thing with fire axe + motivity build. Only realised late game how useful throwables are. I did farm a lot of ergo for levels though.

I would give it 9/10.

Great setting, but **** the lack of accessibility options. Maybe take a page from the Sifu book and give players the option of levelling off those difficulty spikes.

Now it can fail on its own merits, rather than being overshadowed by better games! So, that's... good?

I'll likely get BG3 once I've completed Sea of Stars.

This sucks. Shadow Tactics, Desperados 3 and Shadow Gambit are among my favourite, most replayed games of all time. Whoever is currently working on the new Commandos game should snatch up these talented creators immediately.

It really isn't.

It was definetely lifted whole cloth from Uncharted. The chase in Rome bears a striking resemblance to the chase in Uncharted 4, the train sequence obviously imitates Uncharted 2, and the train going off the bridge at the end is not dissimilar to the ending of Lost Legacy. Those are too many coincidences to disregard claims that Uncharted was the template for those scenes.
But since the actual Uncharted film was cack, I don't really mind.

Who owns Vandal Hearts 2, cos that would be sweet? Oh ****, it's Konami. 😨

@JB_Whiting I usually account for Eurogamer too, but not when it's Edwin writing the review. I can go ahead and disregard that as over-written drivel and proceed with my pre-order.

Way too many cutscenes, one after another. I was holding triangle to skip within the first 15 mins of the game, which does not bode well for a narrative focused RPG. Waiting to see reviews from everyone except IGN.
