Alone in the Dark Delayed to January to Avoid 'Chaotic' October Window

I played the demo/prologue and it was horrible. Game most likely going to bomb

The game looks good but they need a better demo. That sucked XD but im glad devs are starting to realize that launching in October isnt a great idea

Good, it's wiser to release it on more calm month. I enjoyed the (short) demo on pc but I need to know more about the combat before buying the game.

In a way I get it, but I think it'd be smarter to take advantage of spooky season. I think that alone would give this game more eyeballs than releasing in January.

Bummer, but totally understandable.

While the demo was super short, I was digging the vibe. I like that the developers are keeping this a "period piece" rather than taking place in modern times.

I hope this delay ensures a successful release so that we can hopefully get more Alone in the Dark in the future.

The only reason I was considering this was because it was coming around halloween sooo...yeah

I really enjoyed the demo. The atmosphere was on point but there wasn't really enough to go on to judge the gameplay and pacing. Great to see Alone in the Dark make a comeback

@Ludacritz We seen this many times even EA releasing two shooters in the same month burrying their own release. I'm certain a quality release in a less crouded time slot is better for them and everyone else.

@Geep hands down probably the worse demo I ever played. Why would a dev put out something so bad if you want to build anticipation for your game you put out something great like the ff16 demo.

@Ludacritz I had this down as my spooky season treat. Oh well I'll probably now not think of it until next October.

Finally, somebody was smart enough to realize that 10 or more games can't all sell in the same month. It sucks for the people who were actually going to buy it next month, but it was a smart move. It being a horror game might have helped, but it also had just as much of a chance to flop given the competition.

A delay is a good choice, the demo a bit rough around the edges. Definitely has promise though.

I played the demo and it looks to be in the right direction. I mean, Capcom's provided the industry with a perfect standard for horror remakes, so unless other developers intentionally avoid another's success, there's a good chance this will be good. Same goes for Silent Hill 2.

@Ludacritz To be fair, it seems like Resident Evil does well releasing all their games in Q1 now.

I didn't like the demo as the only gameplay was walking, and crawling which is just baby walking.

I really enjoyed the demo can't wait for more. I've alone in the dark in my original PlayStation library.i like how they have updated it.

I used the demo to test how well it runs on my low budget PC. It ran very smoothly on max settings.

Now it can fail on its own merits, rather than being overshadowed by better games! So, that's... good?

Well I played the demo and all I can say is it looked terrible, too short, and not at all scary. Throughout playing that elss than 30 minute prologue I kept wondering if this was supposed to be a horror game until the game just decided to throw a cheap loud jumpscare at me. Needless to say that I will not be buying this game.
