It seems we've been ushered into a new era of creativity void and finally started remaking mediocre games. Alladin is effin' great on both platforms but The Lion King? Really? I've never heard of anyone who was too big on this game (despite the franchise being huge, particularly at the time)
Also, one of the few games in my whole life to give me a migrane.
Oh well, we went from a game that I own and one that I had no interested in to three games that I own. But I'm glad people who didn't buy Detroit are gonna be able to enjoy it. And the "haterbase" will grow too...
I have this one, played for a while but... I don't know, it feels too formulaic after some time, while its inspirations are much more organic. I say give it a shot since it is free, but the urge to play actual Top Gear or OutRun will arise eventually. BTW, it is much, much more akin to the former than the latter, so OutRun fans, don't get your hopes too high
To me, Dreams doesn't look nearly as hot as Push Square makes it out to be. I look at it, I don't feel like touching it. Does that mean I'm stupid? Biased? Simple-minded?
Nope. This is called having an opinion. #team @kyleforrester87
If Halo ever headed to a Sony plataform, MS would kill any change they could have that I'd buy an Xbox ever again. And that would make me a happy camper
@belmont For III and IV they should use the DS/Steam versions, I think the PSP port of IV is kinda weird. I did a little experiment a while back where I played 4 versions of FFIV at the same time. If you set the ATB speed to max in the PSP version, the game goes all crazy and you can basically Darkness your way through until Cecil repents and turns into a Paladin. Even though you can't run in the SNES FFIV, I thought the PSP version to be the weakest out of them all due to that problem
Well, we thought we would never see a sequel to Shenmue again, and look at us now. I say just take it for what it is and be happy with it. I don't care if it's not the end, I just want to play it.
I was actually talking about this with a co-worker on Monday, we all know its relevance has sure diminished in this day and age because of the internet and all, but E3 is like Christmas for gamers, it is a big event you wait for every year, and there's a 50-50 chance you'll end up disappointed.
Not me though, not this year, FFVIIR was in it so hell yeah!
The movie wasn't bad, and Karen Gillan is bae. I look at Nebula very differently after this movie. The game looks like it came straight from an iPhone though
Shenmue I & II remake proved that the series is very niche indeed, so I don't think pushing it back to November will effectively hurt Shenmue III sales (because Death Stranding). And that gives me a little more time to clear my backlog and get to said remake before this installment actually comes out
@tomassi
MGSV was pretty boring and regardless of what popular opinion says, marred with bad decisions that make no sense (his excuse for replacing David Hayter with Keith Sutterland was nothing short of baffling). Huge empty open world, Snake was a frikkin bullet-sponge and even base management gets boring after a while. I also have my reasons to truly dislike MGS2. With that said, I'm stocked for Death Stranding. What that makes me? Kojima lover? Worshipper?
I think people who use MGSV as a comparison basis to what DS might be will be deeply disappointed. Whether it is a good thing for them or not
@oatmealwarrior92 No, no, no, this game should be EA's, they know what's best for us, and that were not interested in story-focused, single player games.
@Onion Maybe these devs got so much into the spirit of the character that they're trying to be as in-your-face with these games as if Bubsy himself was behind them. I honestly really wanted to see them try to tackle a new Bubsy 3D, much laugher would ensue heh
@deepspace5d The walking-sim crowd seemed to have a problem in grasping what a walking-sim is to begin with, it makes me so happy we won't be hearing from them again
It's about connection of hearts, thank god, and not some online bull. I knew this looked like something special from the first teaser and now... Damn, now I could just watch this video on repeat all day long.
What's the problem in not giving away too much, as long as the final product is good? In fact it works just fine for me, not going into a game already knowing too much about it. Hyped for the next trailer and expecting to see something confusing rather than clarifying
First Departure on the PSP was great, only second to... well, The Second Story on the original Playstation. I loved JRPGs on the PS1, too bad the genre had to walk backwards after that.
@Onion Rocket Knight did return for a brief while though. The game wasn't as good as the previous ones (it wasn't bad either), but the fact is that Bubsy has star power. Decaying, post-supernova star power.
I played Apex exclusively for about a month, then it started to wear me down. Once I got back to my backlog, I didn't feel any incentive to return to Apex, even before the battle pass fiasco
@Th3solution The Avengers, or Marvel Comics for that matter, are not a mere fad. It might have become this mainstream pop culture phenomena with Endgame but should the game be good enough to stand on its own, it will still sell like hotcakes regardless of how attuned the mainstream is with Marvel in the time of its release.
I honestly have been using this year to clear my backlog. We have already got RE2 remake and DMC5 in gaming, Endgame is in the theaters, the year can take the rest of itself off. But this game looks like a lot of fun, I got a bit of a GoldenEye vibe from it. Or maybe its the pistols. A ton of different ones.
"but they seem to demand a high level of skill, which may be problematic for casual or younger players"
A lot of the problems with modern video games can be traced back to when needing skills to play became something "problematic". Remember F-Zero GX? Oh well..
Anyway, I found the first All-Stars Racing way too easy, the Team mechanics in this one might make things more interesting. I will get it once the price drops
@nessisonett I bought my PS3 along with Heavy Rain and I honestly thought my dualshock was broken for a couple of minutes, but once you get the hang of it, the controls are not bad. I'd go as far as saying that they fit the style.
As for voice acting, apart from the tiresomely mocked "Jason, Jason!" bit, I take no issue with it as well.
All characters in Until Dawn are basically a-holes, save for a couple that towards the end rise up to the challenge of being likable. I just wanted everybody to die after a while. And I'll be damned, mostly everyone did die in my solo playthrough, something that I avoided completely in both Heavy Rain and Detroit. I think it might be easier to live than dying in those games, but they definitely have better people and/or androids.
People thinking the installments will cover strictly the discs from the original release are in for a surprise. Disc 3 is basically North Cave and side-quests, does it sound like a full-game's length for you? I believe disc one will be an extended Midgar up until facing JENOVA in the boat heading towards Costa del Sol, they won't be able to cram content in it up to Aerith's death. The next split will happen right after the first time into the North Cave, having Cloud lost in the lifestream by the end. Part 3 would be perfect to flesh out the remaining party even further up to the game conclusion. Those look like decent chunks of the original split into 3 if you consider that the bulkier part of its plot transpires during disc 1.
I suppose I'll only be able to enjoy a walking simulator if it's set in space and played in VR. I've looked, but the PSVR doesn't seem to have anything (good) that fits the bill.
