It's confirmed: Death Stranding has a release date, and it's the 8th November 2019. Yep, the still-mysterious PlayStation 4 exclusive is actually launching later this year. The date was revealed at the end of a brand new trailer, which you can watch above.

Needless to say, the game still looks absolutely mental. In the trailer, we get to see exploration, driving, a bit of combat, and some crazy cutscenes. It's pretty much the most informative video yet. And with that, we don't really know what else to say about it -- you're probably better off just watching it for yourself.

In the meantime, here's what Hideo Kojima himself has to say about Death Stranding:

“Death Stranding” is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.
