Re: PS5 Game Expiry DRM Potentially Explained, Sony Still Yet to Comment

knight_spg

Delete the comments (or at least archive them) after each update. It’s currently 95% the negative reactions from the first story, now as the story is slowly clarified after each update & at #4 things are starting to make sense - but comments now don’t.
Finally, if Sony make a statement on the issue that appeases everyone, all comments would be useless and confusing for people who just want clarity & a simple explanation🤷‍♂️
Or you could just generate a new story each time, with a link to the older stories to avoid confusion.

Re: Xbox Will 'Reevaluate' Its Game Exclusivity, Throwing Potential Doubt Over PS5 Ports

knight_spg

I’ve survived without Xbox exclusives up to now - I personally haven’t bought any, but will Xbox survive without sending their exclusives to PlayStation where they sell in the millions of copies for certain releases? Unless the Xbox audience starts buying their own games the whole division will die shortly after launching their upcoming niche console - which won’t sell more than 10 million units at potentially $1500-$2000 each.🤷‍♂️

Re: 'The Solution Is to Get Rid of Consoles': Analyst Predicts $1,000 PS6 and a Transition to Game Streaming

knight_spg

@Jmerbaugh I’ll tell you the reason why you’ll need to buy a PlayStation 6, that streaming service in year 3 of it being the only way to access your library will increase in price for the 3rd time in 3 years and will now cost you $120 dollars a month to access or you lose your whole library including the full price games you bought a la cart for $90 a game.🤷‍♂️

Re: 'The Solution Is to Get Rid of Consoles': Analyst Predicts $1,000 PS6 and a Transition to Game Streaming

knight_spg

Such total rubbish, the infrastructure investment would be astronomical considering how few countries are yet to introduce the PlayStation streaming service, for example just Australia and the square area needed to cover - server space & energy - and replace the ease of actual hardware. The $$$ outlay is unfeasible, Sony would have to surrender market share in many continents. Hardware is still the most economical & profitable, it keeps you locked into the ecosystem.

Re: Sony Announces Gigantic PS5 Price Increases, Effective from April 2026

knight_spg

A whole lot of kids in the comments blaming Sony… Don’t you know about the real world? With all the tech price increases over the last 18+ months & just in the last few weeks shipping costs have at least doubled. Sony just trying to absorb those costs without price increases would have practically bankrupted the PlayStation division🤷‍♂️
Yeah it sucks that prices are rising, but live in the real world and you know that literally every product in the world are having astronomical price increases.

Re: Here's Your First Look at the God of War TV Show

knight_spg

Yeah, it’s extremely hard to pull off live action without looking like bad cosplay.
For example Artreus’ bow - the actor is a weak, very small little kid, so taking into account the scale of the bow, it translates to being maybe 30 centimetres long - a toy with no draw strength/power. The suspension of disbelief that a game or animation provides is hard to overcome.

Re: 'The Plan's the Plan Until It's Not the Plan': Xbox All Over the Place on Future PS5 Ports

knight_spg

No, generally contracts are created for every game coming to an ecosystem to guarantee a release, for example, release schedules are developed years in advance, a company can’t just pull a release and create a hole in the release schedule as it would damage the platform holder’s bottom line, and reputation as they advertised it as coming to the platform, possibly years in advance. So penalties exist to discourage breaking the contract.

Re: Wolverine PS5 Release Date Reveal Sparks Bluepoint Cover-Up Claims

knight_spg

The outrage over Bluepoint is performative at this point, there has been enough information released since, including actual workers admitting that they screwed up themselves with production. The conclusion being Sony was partially at fault in that they gave Bluepoint just enough rope to hang themselves… Sony could have stepped in earlier to cancel the GAAS.
The whole problem was Sony purchased a REMAKE studio but Bluepoint decided they didn’t want to do REMAKES anymore so their subsequent game pitches were all rejected.🤷‍♂️

Re: Xbox's 'Everywhere' Future Outlined in Company Memo from Phil Spencer

knight_spg

Why would anyone follow Microsoft’s vision of gaming, they are third-place, the losers in gaming… They are irrelevant. What he just said was literally a word soup of buzzwords.
Their vision is simply to eliminate all competition, only to just then get the industry into a position of subscription cloud gaming with no hardware just to get your recurring payment each month.

Re: Preview: The Crew Motorfest Is Forza Horizon on PS5, and It's Brilliant

knight_spg

@LiamCroft I was wondering if you guys are tracking or noticed that a number of the ubisoft games are day 1 free in Ubisoft+ Avatar, Skull and Bones, Assassins Creed Mirage it didn't state it on trailers but usually on the screen behind the speakers presentation (at the end of speech). on The Crew Motorfest it said "early access with Ubisoft+" but with all the above others "Play it day 1 with Ubisoft+" It's also restated at the end of the show just before the extended deepdives in a Ubisoft+ ad.

Re: GamesRadar to Host E3 Style Broadcast 'Future Games Show' in June

knight_spg

Sony haven't been avoiding all 3rd party games showcases for the last 18 months+ to now appear at this or IGN's lame, half hearted shows.
Sony will never share the spotlight with multi-platform titles on a 3rd party showcase.
All announcements from Sony on hardware and large, exciting games will come from Sony themselves (and will continue for the foreseeable future)...

Re: Check Out 12 Minutes of New Shadow of the Tomb Raider Gameplay on PS4

knight_spg

This looks to be a marked step down in quality compared to the previous 2 games.
Character models, environments, combat and especially animations are all rough... I'd suggest people who enjoyed the previous titles be wary after this gameplay reveal and wait for reviews.
I could be wrong, but I'd suggest 6's & 7's at best.
