Ground Zero: Texas, believe it or not, was one of Sony’s earlier forays into the video game market. Published by subsidiary Sony Imagesoft on the SEGA CD in 1993, this particular author has fond memories of the Western-inspired sci-fi shooter. It’s a little bit like the A-Team, except everyone’s an alien – or something. It’s also absolutely abysmal, but you can’t blame a 5-year-old Sammy for not knowing any better.
Anyway, it’s coming to the PlayStation 4 on 2nd March, and there’ll be a physical edition produced by Limited Run Games. You’ll be able to pre-order that from 22nd January. You can check out a trailer embedded above, but don’t expect us to apologise if you end up watching it.

Oh lord, I remember the AVGN playing this in his Sega CD video back in the day. What an extremely odd console.
LOL, great trailer! Half retro game, half sitcom. What is it??
Looks amazing!!!
This looks silly and fun, man I wish sony have light gun shooter accessories like psone guncon and have a lot of arcade on-rail shooter port, like all of house of the dead, virtua cop, and time crisis games 😃
I've got a soft spot for oddball FMV games, so I'd probably enjoy this.
I really want SEWER SHARK: REMASTERED
Another great elusive!
Wow! They do read the forums :’ )
Sega CD had some odd ball games didn’t it? I know there’s a Space Adventure Corba game on there. Let’s get that game next.
Wonder if this will reach the EU/AU psn? For some strange reason the Night Trap anniversary one never did,but it reached the AU Eshop without any such issues!🤔😔
Oh man!! Ive been hoping for this since the day I knew about Night Trap hitting PS4 so I’m in! Day 1! I really enjoyed this on the Sega CD back in the day! Now I can play it without the grainy quality video! Now we just need Road Avenger, Cobra Command and Time Gal next please!!
Wow the graphics rival Nughty Dogs!
Oh my God,I never thought I'd get so excited for an old video game as I just have!
Now if only they released Lunar,Shining Force,Snatcher,Sewer Shark and Popful Mail gets etc..
@wiiware
There are a number of PSVR games that use the move controllers or Aim controller to sublime effect, far better than what I remember of playing games like time crisis and virtua cop because of the 3D depth perception in VR.
Meh, I'll wait for a PS5 upgrade.
NOTE: Joke
Bring us Silpheed mega cd remastered please. Still have the original, brilliant shooter with stunning use of fmv.
Yes! I loved Sega CD back in the day and had this game. Will get
Wow does this ever look stupid. I love it!
@Toshiro_Baloney I played this a lot as a kid. Super cheesy. But it was a lot of fun.
@Wazeddie22 I’d love that so much
@nessisonett AVGN i still watch all the old episodes when im bored i even bought the Bluray. 😂
Can't wait to buy this and stick it in the loft with the rest of my game collection.
@WhiteTrashGuy I had a lot of fun playing that game.
@thefourfoldroot Already tried psvr 1, I'm not into it since the graphics isn't good enough (it's a bit blurry) and cable management is too much hassle, I hope sony will made wireless psvr 2 for ps5 like oculus quest 2.
@wiiware
To do that they’d have to put the processors inside the headset (more expensive and likely less powerful) or rely on streaming from the console, which will inevitably introduce lag and connection issues. No thanks. I’m fine with the one cable from ps5 to headset. Don’t even notice it any more.
I’m also not a graphics wh*re. While the headset is not blurry, the screen door effect will always be an issue. A small price to pay for full 360, 3D immersion though. I guess you didn’t play the right games
Ground Zero Texas is I think the best FMV game on the Mega CD and an overall solid game for Sega's addon. It's highly underrated. This game really needs lightgun support as the game was always crying out for it. Also it seems the original film wasn't located for the remaster. Is this correct?
@thefourfoldroot I bought most of it's launch price, the tank game, batman, the shooter game, and drive club. Driveclub graphics downgrade compared to main game is brutal, it's like playing ps2 games. Gaming is a visual medium, gameplay matter but graphics matter too.
Also I don't hear about the lag / connection issue from streaming for oculus quest device, so the tech for wireless vr is ready.
In the end though, playing vr games is tiring, when playing racing games it's cool that's it's like you're really racing with a sport car, but I don't want to feels tired from playing games, I like traditional on the couch gaming more. And playing vr with glasses is a bit uncomfortable.
@wiiware
Oh right, those games suck. Drive club is indeed terrible graphically, but that’s not a result of the tech as much as the game not being designed for VR but rather having assets for the base game. Try GT Sport and you’ll see a vast improvement.
Not sure what you mean by tiring. If you mean the headset is heavy then I must disagree. If you mean playing games with full body motion for extended periods, like boxing etc, then yes. It will be, but that’s only a specific genre of game. If you mean having to put on the headset, press the button, then sync the move controllers, well, again I disagree, it takes less than a minute.
Regarding lag or connection issues with streaming, it’s inevitable with any non wired connection (well, even wired technically) but sure, if the tech is good enough it doesn’t need to be a huge issue.
Have your played any shooting games in VR. Even cheap ones like gun club? Compared to flatscreen light gun games it far far better.
@thefourfoldroot I played until dawn rush of blood, it's a good game but maybe because I'm playing it with heavy headset and a screen that's really close to my eyes so I'm a bit tired after playing it for extended time. My friends that tried the game straight up nearly throw up lol.
I sold my psvr maybe 1 month after having it, cool device but not for me.
@wiiware
If you are aware of the headset as “heavy” and we’re getting eye strain (and could “see” the screen as close) then it must not have been fitted correctly. It’s a real shame if you didn’t play Astro Bot Rescue Mission - hands down one of the greatest games ever made. Then again it would have ruined all other non VR platformers for you, so maybe best you didn’t.
Incidentally, did you play RoB with move controllers or controller?
This game! Not as good as Double Switch, on par with Sewer Shark, better than Night Trap. What a system the Sega CD was. Jurassic Park, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Dracula Unleashed, Mansion of Hidden Souls. What amazing, terrible games.
Those graphics are stunning! The character models are pretty much photorealistic!
Still waiting for the UK version of night on ps4 but it just vanished saying they had.to sort out all languages. But never came. This should be fun for a bit
