Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could release in late February or early March of 2023, according to the Twitter backend scraping account PlayStation Game Size and a recent listing for the game on the PlayStation Store.
The eagerly-anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was given a broad release window of 2023 back when it was revealed. A newly created store page on the PlayStation Store (allowing players to wishlist the title) initially said the game was coming in March 2023, although this has since been updated.
Now, this is by no means an official confirmation and should be regarded with a healthy amount of scepticism, especially considering that March marks the end of a fiscal quarter.
And yet, PlayStation Game Size has been a pretty good indicator in the past, revealing the existence of the PS5 and PS4 versions of Nobody Saves the World. That's in addition to doing what it does best by, you know, uncovering the file size of PlayStation games like Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West ahead of launch.
Do you think we will see Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in early March, or late February? If not, when do you think the title will release? Meditate on the matter in the comments section below.

That's sooner than expected but I just hope that the game's properly optimized this time round. I played Fallen Order on PC but looking at the console versions' benchmarks and it was urgh, and it'll be a shame if an otherwise good game is to be held back by its technical flaws again.
Not sure where I saw this before, but I'm pretty sure that this release window had already been targeted and talked about...? Perhaps it was in dedicated Star Wars circles. It fits with the franchise's broader release strategy, when considering all the other games, TV shows, movies, books and comics currently in the pipeline.
There are also strong rumours that Cal Kestis is getting (or might be getting) a live-action Disney+ show, which I'd love!
Can't wait to see what controversy is EA going to stir up with this game. In-game ad placements? Ad banners on the menus?
@RogerRoger I came here to say I feel like early 2023 has even been discussed on this site before. So I wasn't that shocked seeing this. I doubt we both just made it up.
Hope it gets confirmed, but then again, I hope it comes out when it's ready over all else.
I'm pretty excited for this one. Please EA, don't EA-up this game
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
I've been looking forward to this
I am replaying fallen order on ps5 at the moment and the 60fps doesn't feel very smooth to be honest. Hoping for better from the sequel
@Sakai the ps4 version on ps5 runs at a smooth 60fps just like Elden Ring
Played Fallen Order earlier this year and loved it, so I'm happy the sequel will (presumably) be coming out soon.
Cool.i enjoy star wars jedi fallen order.it looks and play amazing on my ps4 pro.word up son
@RogerRoger ah I’d love to see a live action show with Cal Kestis!
@Ravix @RogerRoger @SweetSummerShunv Early 2023 release would be nice, but if they need more time to work on the game, I'd much rather it gets delayed.
@Sakai The PS5 port of Jedi: Fallen Order is shockingly poor, and a real shame when you consider how magnificent the PS4 version is when run on decent hardware (a Pro or a PS5). I have to assume, or hope, that Respawn's A-Team were busy with the early stages of developing Jedi: Survivor, and that the port was handed over to some interns or something.
@RogerRoger @Boucho11 @KidBoruto yes, but the secret Ewan McGregor face scans, Mo-Cap and Voice Over can only be kept secret for so long 😮😅
I feel like Survivor could easily be the start of the link, due to it being set exactly around the Obi Wan show, so a late game or even just a credits tease, and Cal being in Season 2 of Kenobi, leading in to his own spin off seems like a kind of likely route.
A BD unit was in the Mandalorian or Boba Fett briefly as the first real Easter egg or teaser, I suppose.
And I'm pretty sure someone mentioned rumours of some other mysterious Jedi, that seemed like it could be Cal, working to help the force sensitive in the Obi Wan show, too. But I may be misremembering.
@Ravix There's been a reactionary rush towards Cal wherever possible in recent years. Heck, there was an episode of The Bad Batch set on Bracca, where a mysterious person took down a bunch of Imperial Clone Troopers, and everybody started screaming "It's gonna be Cal, it's gonna be Cal!" for a hot minute.
But let's not forget, Obi-Wan was already in Jedi: Fallen Order, with that brief holocron cameo from Rebels. Granted, that meant it was James Arnold Taylor in the role, but anything's possible. I reckon that, if the TV show rumours are true, it'll either be in place of a third Jedi game, or it'll be that Cal's gonna be a supporting player in somebody else's show. Whether that's a hypothetical second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi (remember, that show was supposed to be a standalone "event" series) or whether he'll pop up in Andor, or indeed a future season of The Bad Batch... well, it's anybody's guess!
I think I read somewhere that Jedi: Survivor is set a year or two after Jedi: Fallen Order, which would place it a maximum of seven years after Order 66, and therefore a minimum of three years before Obi-Wan Kenobi. That's why the Purge Troopers had that "upgraded" look, and why certain Sisters were nowhere to be seen.
But there's room to play, for sure. I'm just jazzed that we're gonna get to see some B-1 Battle Droids again!
@RogerRoger I'm pretty certain they announced Survivor is 5 years after Fallen Order. And I wouldn't be surprised if it spanned a few years as well to really show the struggle they are going through, to be honest. This kind of story doesn't usually benefit from quick resolutions.
But I'm like you, I'd love to see it (live action cross over in a big Disney show) but I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen. Although I'm not as big a fan and as clued up as you, and have not watched things like Bad Batch, Clone Wars etc, Star Wars, like in my gaming, i'm kind of a hardcore casual fan
@Ravix Sorry, yeah, I do have a tendency to get a bit manic with all things Star Wars. I saw an opportunity to nerd out and ran with it, my apologies! And you're right, wishing and hoping for specific things to happen is only gonna end in disappointment, so I'm happy to sit back and watch whatever they've got planned for us unfold. Would it be cool to see certain things happen? Of course it would. Is it still gonna be cool if they don't? Probably!
Thanks for that five year factoid, as well. That definitely puts it in the same ballpark. I'm expecting a cliffhanger at the very least, one that could be picked up anywhere, in any format.
@RogerRoger Is that… Kazuda? From Star Wars Resistance? I genuinely thought I was the only person on Earth who watched that.
@Goat_FromBOTW It most certainly is! Only watched the show for the first time recently, and kicked myself for dismissing it for so long. Had an absolute blast, thought it was excellent, and I love Kaz! Would've liked to have seen it get another season or two!
@RogerRoger I loved it too! It was definitely more lighthearted than Clone Wars, Rebels and Bad Batch, but that’s not a complaint. I thought that focusing on a small group of civilians and how their lives were affected by the bigger events in the sequels was actually really interesting. You don’t get to see what life is like for an ordinary person in the world of Star Wars very often. I just wish it had another season or two, like you said. People trash it for being a “baby show”, but really it just has a different tone and focus from the other shows, when I think people expected something more like Clone Wars. Also, the cel-shaded animation was AMAZING. It’s funny that they animated it that way to save money, I think I prefer it to Rebels animation.
@RogerRoger @Ravix As much as I would enjoy Cal getting his very own live-action series, it definitely seems more likely he will be a supporting character in someone else's show.
@Goat_FromBOTW I think people were also trashing on Resistance due to it being a tie-in to the sequel trilogy, which has alot of negative hate towards it for some understandable reasons.
Which is a shame, because like you two I personally LOVED Resistance and would have liked to see another season at least, or a film that concludes Kaz's story.
Hopefully in time that will happen, or he'll cameo in a live-action show or film...
@KidBoruto FR FR. It feels like he was robbed of a true moment to pay off his character. And the reference to him in the TROS novelization doesn’t really fill that role
I hope there's better lip syncing in this one. The first game was all over the place at times which ruined some excellent scenes.
@Goat_FromBOTW I always facepalm whenever people criticise Star Wars content for being lighthearted. Sure, I'm an adult and I do love it when shows like The Bad Batch can punch me right in the feels, but Star Wars is made for kids! Not only that, but Resistance was genuinely funny more often than not, and that kinda humour is universal. I found Kaz so refreshing for being such an uncomplicated, adorkable hero. I thought the animation style really helped elevate his slapstick comedy (and yeah, totally agree, it's a gorgeous-lookin' show). It really started to build momentum by the end of the second season, in a similar way to Rebels, which started out as goofball nonsense and ended up becoming this powerful, sweeping space opera. It's a real shame we never got to see where everybody was headed. Oh well.
And yeah, as @KidBoruto rightly says, its connection to the sequel trilogy didn't help it, either. I'll admit that the sequels aren't my favourite Star Wars, but Resistance has helped me get invested in their premise and background, in the same way I hear a lot of folks praise The Clone Wars for "elevating" the prequels. As it stands, I feel like Disney just wanna jettison the sequel era, which is a shame, as there's some real good stuff in there, scattered amongst the debris.
@Goat_FromBOTW I didn't even know there was a novelization XD.
@RogerRoger Agreed 100%! If I ever re-watch Resistance, I'll def be re-watching the sequel trilogy as well.
Btw, did you hear about the KOTOR remake being delayed?
@KidBoruto I did, yeah. Doesn't bother me all that much, as I never really liked any of the Old Republic stuff and abandoned my only KOTOR playthrough after a couple of hours. I do feel sorry for the developers, though. They'd clearly bitten off more than they could chew. Hope you haven't been knocked back by the news!
@RogerRoger I never played the original KOTOR or it's sequel, so I'm not all that bothered!
Still, it's a shame when games do have to be delayed no matter what.
