Update: According to the original reporter Tom Henderson, developer Kojima Productions requested the removal of his article on Overdose, suggesting that it’s real – and an announcement is potentially imminent. The big question now is whether this will ship on PlayStation platforms or not.
Original Story: Hideo Kojima is leading the development of a new horror game titled Overdose, according to Tom Henderson of Try Hard Guides. The leaker claims he's actually been sent footage of the game, which stars Margaret Qualley, who played Mama in Death Stranding. However, it's reported this new horror title isn't linked to Kojima's latest IP in any way.
According to Henderson, the footage handed to him puts Qualley in a blue dress and has her walking through dark corridors equipped with a flashlight. It's all told from the third-person perspective, but apparently first-person is an option too. "A jump scare at the end of the footage shows 'GAMEOVER' followed by 'A Hideo Kojima Game'... 'OVERDOSE'."
Of course, with Summer Game Fest Live just around the corner, the hope is the title will be revealed there. Except there have been rumours of Hideo Kojima developing a title exclusively for Xbox consoles in order to utilise the company's cloud technology. This could well be that game, meaning it won't release for PS5, PS4 consoles. Furthermore, it's already all but confirmed Kojima is also making Death Stranding 2 after Norman Reedus let word slip in a recent interview. Tom Henderson has a somewhat reliable track record, so it'll be interesting to see whether this latest claim comes to fruition or not.
