Re: Round Up: What Was Announced in Sony's State of Play Livestream for June 2026?

Solid show overall, and nice to see so many release dates. All these games coming out in September is nuts though… I was all in on Wolverine day one, but I’m going to have to go to Control Resonant first.

Finally, the reveal for Laufey was glorious; game looks brutal, whimsical, and utterly gorgeous. The combat looks amazing and very complex. And that keyart! Great way to end the show!

@Bob_Tempura LOL Crimson Desert and Requiem both launched at $70, at least in the US, so… huh?

Time will tell, I suppose, if the price of Saros was a fatal mistake for the game. Clearly a lot of people on this thread aren’t buying it for that reason. Value proposition is very subjective. The used economy is obviously going to eat a lot of sales for this game, sadly. The way studios are closing, it’s a bummer to buy from Ebay instead of just waiting for the price to come down, especially if you want to play the game.

Meh…

@Bob_Tempura If you’re that worried about buying gas, why play video games at all? Gaming is a luxury hobby, not a necessity.

Totally understand trying to save money, but blaming your third-party buying habits on the developer/publisher not pricing their game according to your standard is absurd. The amount of people complaining about the price of this AAA first party developer video game in this thread is hilarious. Everybody wants something for nothing, it seems…

After finishing Requiem (amazing game), I’ve jumped into Control Ultimate Edition on my Pro. It’s a much improved experience compared to when I played it on PS4 years ago (although I still loved it). I should probably get into Returnal though, in preparation for Saros; gotta start flexing those Housemarque muscles again!

After having just completed the game, I gotta disagree with Liam about the playtime split. First half is clearly all about Grace, with short stints as Leon to break it up. I was able to really take my time here, and Grace’s section is just brilliant. Second half is clearly about Leon, but we still get a solid, albeit shorter section with Grace to break that up. I was worried I’d enjoy the action bits with Leon less, because the survival part is my jam, but still some great exploration, and loved the ruined Raccoon City. Gameplay in Requiem is just A++ Gotta agree about the story payoff though, it’s not great, but.. you know… it’s Resident Evil, so… yeah. But hey, Victor Gideon is a great villain at least!
