Annoying, but not terribly surprising. Surely this is why they created this service in the first place? To sell subscriptions with old games people want to play. What’s weird is how they pick and choose what games you can actually buy. Capcom seems to be playing some part in this decision…

Never played Siren, definitely intrigued.

10 hours in and absolutely loving it. Played the original to death back in the day, and feel confident saying they absolutely nailed it. This is the same terrifying, highly disturbing Silent Hill we know and love. Again, nowhere near being finished (just finished the apartment building; I play slowly), but so far it’s a knockout. Atmosphere, art direction, sound (WOW), and combat are all fantastic. So… my review-in-progress score is a current 10

4 hours into Silent Hill 2R, and wowza Bloober did a fantastic job! The combat is visceral and challenging, and they really seem to have expanded the game quite a bit without messing with the original vibes. The new soundtrack is fantastic too. Just WOW

@Kidfunkadelic83 I'm with ya 100% man. I have yet to reveal to my better half that I have two new fancy anniversary controllers on the way AND a vanilla PS5 Pro. I can feel the glares already! It's like they want us to spend the money on important stuff like the house or a savings account... Madness, I tell you!

The Bloobs have got this! I’m anticipating a solid remake of Silent Hill: Deux—7’s, 8’s, and 9’s inbound!

This was my main issue with the first game. 30 hours or so in, skill tree maxed out, I was feeling done, despite not finishing the main story (which was admittedly solid). That said, I really enjoyed the majority of time I spent with the game, so I’m curious what they’ll do to improve this sequel.

@Lup Yeah the combat could really be improved. I ended playing it on lethal because I had gotten so good at the game, but then lethal was SUPER frustrating for duel encounters. Room to grow!

Very excited for this remake from Bloober Team. I hope they nail it, but I also am not expecting perfection. Expectations fully in check and ready to revisit a classic with some serious modernization.

Would have been nice if they did this before the pre-orders went live… Do much for those of us that wanted one now

@TheTony316 Nice! Hoping for 2 and 3 remakes to get em too. I’m sure they will. The ray tracing on those games looks beautiful but really drags down the frame rate.

It is indeed very expensive. I preordered one, but am on the fence whether I’ll ultimately keep that order. The prospect of spending another $80+tax on the disc drive to play my huge library of physical games, and worse yet, $30+tax just to stand the damn thing upright, is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. So yeah, a bit torn still…
I owned a PS4 Pro a while back though and was pretty happy with it. More announced games will help. Hoping to hear names like Returnal, Dead Space, Armored Core, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill 2 announced soon. Horror games will really benefit from that boost in ray tracing while maintaining a solid framerate. That’ll definitely win me over!

@BowTiesAreCool He is partnering with A24, that’s a fact. But Alex Garland has said he’s done directing after Civil War, so I seriously doubt that would happen, as awesome as it would be.
But Kojima and George Miller seem to be gushing over each other… 🤩

@carlos82 This is what I’m hoping too! Resident Evil 2 and 3 looked gorgeous in their PS5 updates with ray tracing, but ran like dogsh*t. Here’s hoping those frame rates can be ironed out! Been itching to play through 2 again…

Some good stuff in there, but honestly don’t care much about Ghost of Yotei. I loved Tsushima at first but never finished. Guessing this will be more of the same…?

I would absolutely buy a handheld PlayStation 6. Assuming it would be less powerful than the full console, but still able to play PS6 games at reduced specs. If the push for backwards compatibility is true, then it would also be able to play all PS5 and PS4 games. Only problem would be for the physical media enthusiasts, whose libraries are locked onto discs. Yeah… that would be a problem for me…

Don’t get too excited about that Pro y’all… 12,300 is NOT enough for everyone who’ll want one. Not even close!

Only 2 galaxies in, but so far it’s an absolute 10/10. So inventive and joyful, and just the right level of challenge with plenty of casual fun but also tricky hidden bots and tougher platforming levels. 100% my game of the year, with Stellar Blade a close second.

$599 with a friggin’ disc drive and I’d be hittin’ that preorder button. I totally get that it’s expensive tech, but as a physical enthusiast, this thing is just not worth the cost for me with my limited game time these days.

Would have preferred a disc drive instead of 2TB. With the speed of internet (Pittsburgh, USA) deleting and re-installing games is not that big of a deal. No disk drive sucks…

Based on the reception of playroom alone, I think we could tell that the full game would be an absolute smash hit. Super excited to get stuck into it this weekend!

Ditch the live-service multiplayer cash-grabs, reel in the massive budgets and size of single-player games, and focus on some smaller projects that use existing IP’s in fun new ways. Nintendo’s new Zelda is a great example. Probably not that expensive to make given the graphics, but new and innovative, and likely going to sell like crazy.
Yeah, Sony needs to have some serious come-to-Jesus conversations.
