Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Free Next-Gen Upgrade on Xbox Series X, Presumably the Same on PS5

billyboyblue666

@carlos82 Your 100% correct here. They really need to start coming forth with some numbers before the buzz becomes all about Xbox. More importantly, their machine has to be on at least an equal footing with MS top spec machine or the whole dialogue will be power, power, power and MS will run with that.

I think Sony should pledge updated versions of their classic titles out of the box. And they need to support the stopping off double dipping.

These machines will be expensive. Consumers will support them, so let's support the consumer rather than fleecing them.

Re: Poll: Are You Satisfied with Your PS Plus Games for January 2020?

My son (who's 7) has got a hell of alot of fun out of Goat Simulator. I wonder, does it come with the DLC as well? He'll be able to play at home with it now as it's on my account, so a win there for me.

Almost bought the Uncharted Collection a few times, so again, a win. 2 & 3 will definitely be worth a play through again.

I sometimes wonder what people want from PS+. The games can't all be AAA blockbusters and they're great for parents to have in their collections for young kids on rainy days. I'm building a collection for my son even though alot of the games are slightly too complex for him currently.

Sometimes, people should just be grateful for something. For the price of the subscription & the discounts it offers it's a reasonable deal.

Hopefully with PS5 they will split PS+ into tiers with the basic tier of online gaming being free like PS3 era, then extras for those who choose the service.

We should not be paying for online gaming in 2020...

Re: Rumour: PS5 and Xbox Scarlett Have Similar 'Very Powerful' Specs, Microsoft 'Well Behind' Sony in Terms of Communication

I'm hoping for some innovation in the gameplay this upcoming generation. 'Resolutiongate' needs to end. So many times jumping up the generations from PS2 to 3 to 4 we've had the same rhetoric from developers. Immersion. Advanced AI, etc, etc. Yet really, games haven't moved on far. A few standout titles have, but the majority have played it safe.

Let's see some gameplay innovations again. Let's see things that are different. Challenging. Hard. Games are too easy these days - built for a casual market. Die & respawn with no consequence. Manic Miner created more adrenaline...

Anyways, here's hoping 🤞

Let's go Sony ✊

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for December 2019?

billyboyblue666

@Bagshot I think next gen the solution is to split PS Plus back up. Make online gaming free (like the PC 🙄) as it should be, and create some sort tiered system for people to sub into of they want 'premium' features.

As you and others say, you can't please everybody. I think people would be far happier just having online gaming for free. Because tbh, if you don't play the Plus games the subscription isn't actually good value.

I doubt anybody will listen to this, but I think it'd be a fairer way forward, and would also be an indicator of if people actually feel like Plus is of value to them...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 'Seems to Be Doable' on PS5, But Not Planned for Launch

billyboyblue666

I think this is a strongarm move by devs to secure revenue whilst not offering the product on the PS5 'in the near future'.

If they confirm for PS5 they know a considerable portion of the market will hold back. They have they hype to look at a business model potentially like GTA5.

I think it comes down to personal preference. Some will wait, some won't. But don't complain for upgrades or buying twice.

Re: Borderlands 3 - Looting and Shooting Is Back and Better Than Ever

billyboyblue666

8/10...

There are no cloud saves. How can this be? The remaster of BL2 had cloud saves for heaven's sake. The feel of some of the guns, especially the sniper rifles is terribly off. The aiming through the scope is far too to sensitive and despite turning the sensitivity down it still has almost no effect. The framerate playing co-op is a abysmal at times, especially during menus which are a key part of the game. Performance on enhanced consoles is even worse than base consoles. There are innumerable bugs in multiplayer which have been listed everywhere on the internet. There is no vertical split screen option.

The list goes on...

How this game was ever released is beyond me. If it were any other sort of commercial product a company would be hauled over the coals. The game should have been in development for another 6 months at least, and us as consumers should not be standing for these practices.

Yes, the core gameplay loop is excellent and the game has the potential to be a great title. But with all those faults that I have outlined how on earth can you give it 8 out of 10...?

Maybe when all the bugs are ironed out and the performance is where it should be it may be worth that.

Re: Borderlands 3 Causes Uproar Amongst Longtime Fans with the Lack of Vertical Split-Screen Co-Op

billyboyblue666

I think the only reason they did this was because of the menu systems which you can now look at your gun in. I'm guessing it wouldn't work vertically. But seeing as the menus are a disaster anyway it all adds up to a poorly designed package that should've spent another 6 months in development. It's nowhere near finished. No cloud saves either? Come on. With horizonal split screen I can't even look at the gun & the gun card at the same time. Let alone read the text. Vertical is a must with this game. Couch co-op is awesome - I play all the time with my son who was crushed it wasn't there.

It'll be a critical omission if they continue to overlook this...

Re: Borderlands 3 Split-Screen Co-Op Is a Technical Disaster on PS4

billyboyblue666

For a game that's co-op focused, where's the vertical split-screen? Seriously. All the other games ran and played great with this. It's almost unplayable in horizonal. Even the text is unreadable.

This is a must fix for the Devs.

Also the frame rate tanking when the other player his their menu is just unacceptable. Just make it a stripped down interface if need be.

No wonder there was a partial review embargo 🤣

Come on Gearbox, sort your game out.

Re: Guide: All PS5 Games Confirmed or Rumoured

billyboyblue666

@jdv95 Agreed. The 2nd hand market for games is huge. I'm a big fan of picking up bargains from eBay. Being an old git, life dictates that I don't have time to play all the titles I'd like, so picking them up cheaply is always an option, as is selling then on again afterwards.

I did read something a while back saying Sony are looking at relaxing their law on trading electronic purchases. I think this would be a great idea for the future as currently digital purchases have zero resale value which is a bit daft.

Re: TGS 2018: Death Stranding Continues to Confound with the Man in the Golden Mask

billyboyblue666

I think the coolest thing about this game will be the reasons WHY you are doing whatever your doing.

I think we have seen snippets of gameplay - traversal over canyons, rivers etc. It's the reasoning behind what your doing that is so intriguing and will be make or break when it comes to controller time.

So obviously, the story will stack up in typical convoluted Kojima fashion.

But as always, he produces something that has an identity and style of its own. In a gaming industry of clone after clone this looks to be fresh, weird and engaging.
